We get to see DDs two year old pictures today!!!!;; And I just remembered, likely would have forgotten if I didn't see the old note about the picture day on my calendar.
That gif makes me want a hedgehog so bad! They are so darn cute, but really I know my cats would think it was a toy and I don’t know that I would want one for a long time. Basically I need someone else I know to get one so that I can play with it and give it back.
We bought a house last fall, it came with an old push mower. Apparently it doesn't work, and we have a half acre lot.
So my husband, who doesn't do engine work, has been protesting paying someone to look at it, because he hates spending money. So he's been using an old school style reel mower (think full manual, like our grandparents!) to do the whole thing. I'm entertained. That's all.

I'm knitting myself a crop top I'm debating on whether it will get worn at all before next year, haha. Or ever? But, the colorwork is too fun to not make it.
@EErin86 yay for getting to see your daughters pictures today. I too am sad they do not live in North America.
@pourmeamocktail stubborn husbands! At least you don’t have too big a piece of land, although then he would probably pay to have the thing fixed. Usually push mowers are not too expensive to have fixed, but they are also relatively inexpensive to buy new.
Thought about making shirts for our Disney trip rather than buying from Etsy for a hot second, mainly prompted by lack of cute maternity options and the fact that I’ve waited long enough that standard processing for most shops is questionable on arrival. Then I googled and those cricut machines are $300 plus and that doesn’t include the materials. Never mind.
@spottedginger if you have an ink jet type printer, you can buy iron on "paper" at even Walmart, make up a quick graphic, print it out, and iron them on to shirts-and use any shirt you want. Depends on how nice you want the finished product to be of course, but I had to make myself a logo shirt for my bar when I grew out of my old one.

@spottedginger there is a place called Top Iron Ons that has a lot of iron on options available. I’m with you that shipping from Etsy vendors is not reliable.

@spottedginger Maybe check out Venable and Mae. She'd set you up with a cute maternity shirt. Good turn around time too. She might be able to get it done before your Disney trip (not sure how soon your trip is). She's made shirts for alot of my friends and their families.
I'm working in a different hospital today and it's currently 40 minutes past my normal lunch time. I'm trying to patiently wait for someone else to get back to our office so I have someone to eat with, I hate eating by myself in a big cafeteria. Getting a little hangry...
I guess I've officially hit beached whale status. I have to retire my last pair of pre-pregnancy dress pants after today. Makes me super sad. Maternity pants and leggings now until at least September.
Just googled the airplane toddler harness and see that it is $75. For some crappy webbing. I could sew it, but would lack the “FAA approved” sticker that is probably why it is so expensive to begin with. Now debating how many airplane trips we will likely take before this fetus is three or four and how many times we will use it so I can’t decode whether to rent (~20) or buy. For some reason, i just assumed it would be $30-40.
@spottedginger work some convenience factor into the value of the harness. I know it's just crappy webbing but it's crappy webbing with the stamp of approval that stores easily, is there when you need it, and has been under your control at all times. I spend a fair amount on travel conveniences because to me it's hard enough to get your infant/toddler/kid/self from point A to point B that it's worth it to me for anything that makes it easier. Especially if it saves me any time so that I have more time to enjoy my trip with.
@spottedginger have you looking into borrowing or buying used the airplane harness? I'm part of a local mom's group, and this is the type of thing I'd expect someone to happily lend/sell. It just seems sill to buy everything new when you only need it so infrequently!
@klj0228@EErin86 They are sooo cute! My DD had the cutest pink hedgehog stuffed animal she nicknamed "Hedgie". Sadly, Hedgie was left on a hiking trail about a year ago and DD will sometimes say, "I miss Hedgie...she's still out hiking!"
@nlc8424 I love falafel!! Glad you didn't have to wait too long and got a yummy lunch.
AFM: I've been trying to get caught up after being on vacation the past week. We had such a lovely time at the beach and being off of work for a week has me reeeallllyyy looking forward to maternity leave! Work is being done to our normal office so I'm working out of a different location for most of the summer, and my temporary office is near a cafe. It started smelling of delicious bread beginning at 10 a.m....this will be dangerous!

@southernlady07 All I want is an office that's in walking distance to a cafe that bakes fresh bread. Like legit, that'd be amazing. And obviously the walk there and back would burn off the extra calories
I have a staging job tomorrow that I really don't want to do. I am grateful for the work but it's so hot and the house isn't one I'd show off so it doesn't build my portfolio or anything. Basically I have a bad case of the Mondays.
I'm quickly becoming "over" pregnancy and how it is impacting my work (not the quality, but quantity). I feel like I am not getting anything done, Oh a brighter note, I got to help my husband with an art installation and it was a blast.
DH and I took this week off work to do stuff around the house and yard but we packed it with appointments, zoo trips, golf and massages. As long as I can wash my floors and DH cuts the grass, I'll be happy. Having time off is awesome.
I don’t know if pregnancy is causing me to care more but Husband is on my sh*t list! I bring home four left over slices of desert for us to share from Mother’s Day lunch at my parents. Granted they are small sampler size pieces, but still! I haven’t had a bite yet I look in the fridge to find this!!! (Those exclamation marks do represent my level of outrage).
His reply to my text of outrage... “I left you some.”
@Lcardinal04 that looks like cheesecake which does in fact deserve some outrage and maybe some tears. My H knows better than to eat dessert on me, I would totally be pissed and crying if he left me some and that was all that was left. I'm sorry .
@Lcardinal04 I would have the biggest fit if my husband did that!!! Then his happy ass would be finding an open store and bringing me some new damn dessert immediately if not sooner. Unacceptable.
@nlc8424 it was cheesecake! Three slices of deliciousness and a piece of home made cake I knew he’d like.
@stothi thank you! I couldn’t decide if I was over reacting but I get more upset each time I open the fridge and look at the tiny scraps!
He he told me he would buy me new desert, which I think was a ploy to have me say no it’s fine. Well, I responded with what deserts I would accept as penance for stealing a pregnant wife’s mother’s day leftover deserts. He better not come home without it!!
@Lcardinal04 I hope he brings you new desserts! DH did something similar when I was pregnant with DD. To say I was in a rage would be an understatement.
ETA- 5 years later, he still asks before eating the last of anything
@Lcardinal04 you did not overreact in my opinion. He should never eat the last of it, but definitely not with a pregnant wife. Did he maybe think you were being considerate and bringing it home for him? Or was he with you so he knew it was to share?
@knitknitread my H asks about many things too since my first pregnancy haha, better safe than sorry!
I am such a nerd. I'm at one of the hospitals I regularly work at and the physician here today has a student with him and he keeps asking the student questions and providing in depth information on different conditions and tests and I just want to intently listen and take notes. It's a good day for me.
@Lcardinal04 the other issue that I'm having usis th it looks like fork marks in the car .Like he was eating directly off of them and then remembered at the the last minute to leave the last two bites. I would be slightly less upset if the slices had been cut cleanly in half with a knife indicating prior intention that he thought the cake was intended to be shared.
@Lcardinal04 Oh, yes. You have every right to be pissed! And now, I’m pissed too because that looks like it was really good cheese cake and I really want some! I hope he brings you something good!

Makes me super thankful my DH hates cheesecake!
