We just had a major blow out. I'm talking up the back out of the legs blow out. I didnt even attempt to clean him or his onesie. He got straight in the bath and onesie went in the trash. Why is it so hard to get baby poop stains out??
@sgrn18. My boys have had 3 major blow outs like yours except theirs always goes up the backside! Lol! I rinse the poop off their clothes and then spray it with Dreft stain treatment found at Wal-Mart. It does the trick!
I go back to work today and next week and then I'm out for the summer but I feel SO guilty going back. I don't want to leave him at home even though he's with my husband and I don't want him to have to take a bottle because I know how much he hates bottles and would rather nurse. I really do miss my students but I hate so much to leave Nate. I wish he could come with me.
At least you get the summer off, that’s great timing! This next week is my last full week at home and I’m feeling all the feels. Honestly, I don’t mind waking up to nurse now because our time together will be cut in half now
@slr1229 taking care of the baby is so much easier now. It's like just when you get into a rhythm things get changed up. I love newborns, but it's definitely not my favorite stage now.
It went well! We did a lot of cleaning and played games so it kept my mind busy. But Nate did scream for my husband all day long and only napped once. I felt so bad. But it was easier knowing I didn't have to be there longer than a week and that I have the whole summer
Changed his diaper on my bed this AM....what a mistake. No poop, but pee isn't good either. Was just too tired to carry him to his change pad...my arms are in pain!
I need to work out so bad... I've lost all the weight and my arms are clearly being worked, but all this loose skin has got to go! I want my abs back haha but @slr1229 is right, the bed always wins..
I also want to go run, I have a jogging stroller so I could take LO with me but it's hot out and I would rather eat, sleep, or take a shower so I can feel human.
Maybe when I get a better schedule going I can figure out the best time to fit something in.
LO decided, as I was exiting the mall this afternoon, that it was the perfect time to poop. I heard a loud noise (sounded like someone moving large furniture on the floor above us) but when I looked down i saw the dreaded poop face. I turned back around and went into the bathroom to change him.
I was pulling up his onesie and stuck my hand in poop. I'm not kidding it was almost to his shoulder blades (I'm thinking it was the position he was in in the stroller that caused it to go so high). I took the onesie off and got poop in his hair, all over the changing pad, and me. I had to clean him up the best I could, which was wipes and a blanket, in a freaking mall bathroom.
Worst part was the changing table was the first thing you see when you walk into the bathroom, so probably 10 people saw me cleaning my poop covered child with a blanket and wipes.
@sgrn18, same thing happened to me with DD1 while I was at the dentists office. We’ve all been there. My brother had to handle it in their tiny bathroom because I had just gotten teeth out (for my orthodontia). The very next day, I went out and invested in a bunch of onesies that have the “envelope shoulders”. They’re designed so that you can pull the baby’s arm out by the shoulder and pull the onesie off downwards instead of over the head (also serves to help clean up back poo). You’ll laugh about it someday, I promise.
Reviving this thread because OMG people saw me like this today! We had exterminators come bc termites are eating up the shed that is attached to the house. I managed to get a bra and decent shirt on, but was still in leggings when the guys came. and to make matters worse, I smell so bad! It got up to 87 today, we don't have air, and it wasn't expected, and apparently whatever deodorant I put on was not enough. And the LO needed lots of bouncing and snuggling, which I love! But sweat fest. yikes. haha
my daughter asked me why I always put my hair up yesterday. I took that as a sign I might want to put forth some effort and tried to do my hair. Unfortunately, that was a disaster and stopped mid blow dry when my two year old started bringing me parts of the speaker in our living room. That’s why, Natalie, that’s why!
My five year old was being atrocious yesterday and when she was supposed to be going to time out ran out the back door and I was chasing her around the yard is shorts and a T-shirt with no bra.
Confession: I used lack of childcare as an excuse to get out of work this weekend- I could definitely find an in law to watch the girls, I just want them all to myself this weekend.
I want to drink all the wine because my three year old has turned into a little emotional devil ever since she turned 3. My March babe is definitely my favorite child right now
@megpeg oh dear don’t tell me that! She’s having emotional breakdowns when she doesn’t get her way, they last about 25 minutes, it’s as if someone else is over taking her body because once she’s done, she’s all “I love you Mom.” So many grey hairs!
So if Nate is down for the night we let him cry for 10 minutes before going in because he'll usually go right back to sleep before it gets to that point. Well tonight he woke up while we were eating dinner so I let him go while I ate and he didn't quit so I went in and he had snot all over his upper lip and I felt like a terrible mom. I picked him up and just cried. I know I'm not a bad mom but I hate to hear or see him cry. Moming is so hard.
Confession: I have NO PATIENCE for feeding N solids. Sure, she is adorable and I love seeing her learn and grow in her high chair, but it takes sooooooo long - and she tries to suck her thumb after every spoonful! Every time, my productivity flashes before my eyes.
@ashtuesday lol! Our LO does the same thing! He wants to stick his hands in his mouth right after I stick some food in. So irritating! I've resorted to feeding him in just his diaper because he makes such a mess. That stuff gets everywhere!
confession - we haven't started solids yet, even though the doc said we could two weeks ago. i don't even have a good excuse. we just haven't done it yet.
@mccurleya, awww, I would have felt bad too. Of course knowing as well that we can't be perfect, but still. It's so difficult not to be hard on yourself as a parent.
@slr1229 and @megpeg, I love hearing other parents talk about their difficult times with their kids. Makes me feel not alone in that craziness. Especially since of course what we mostly see online is the happy times of others. I also find it comforting to see another family juggling loud/squirmy kids when out and about.
I've got a confession (mini rant). A friend posted a picture of her toddler during bedtime being messy. Super cute picture. But used the hashtag of 'real life.' I thought the point of 'real life' was to show it's not all cute?! Not to make me even more miserable after my REAL LIFE bedtime routine with a toddler involved cleaning up bathroom floor pee (the cherry on top was it wasn't an accident). Yeah, so I was a bit salty, annoyed, and jealous by that (cute) picture.

Some days are better than others, amiright?

Nate’s ok and you will be too. Lots of love to you, momma
