Trying to catch up! @zande2016 glad your doula was able to point you in the direction of other centers available near you, I hope you find something a little more in line with what your plan is despite the GD issues. Will your MW group follow you to one of the otheir hospitals with the gentle/water inductions? Seems like the least they could do for the run around but I could see why they might not be able to.
+1 for a super wiggly baby. All. Day. Long. She was footling breech about a month ago but I swear she’s switched back and forth a few times in the past week or so. I hope she figures it out before she runs out of room!
We toured DS’s preschool today and we’ve decided we’ll definitely put him in. Besides the fact that he didn’t want to leave and keeps telling everyone we meet that we went to “go see my school” it seemed like a good program and although it’s full time, it’s only about 6 hours which helps a little with the mom guilt.

I’m starting to think i need to sleep reclining now. I felt so much better this morning when i slept like that for a few hours. I also turned my preg pillow into a slight donut and layer on my chest for a bit. It felt so good on my back!!
@MrsMiller8588 That was me last week. I could not stop eating, everything, all day long. This week seems to be normal again, phew! So I'm going to assume last week was a freak thing.
@zande2016 I am sorry if i have mentioned this before but I had an induction and also went med free, I guess it was "gentle"...Pitocin was the third drug they would have used...it went cervadil, misoprostol, then pit. And things ramped up pretty slow that way, although I didn't need anything past cervadil. I guess my point being maybe some of these other midwife practices can use the other forms of induction besides pit?
I also agree with whoever said that resources might be spread thin at a lower income clinic, although I would still go and see for myself, figure out what kind of resources they lack, or maybe that's not even the case at this place!
@acunamatada the midwives I am with now only deliver at one hospital. I am touring that hospital on Tuesday, and have a meet and greet next week with an OBGYN/midwife group affiliated with one of the hospitals near me that does gentle inductions and allows laboring in the tub even with pitocin. So I feel like I am starting to explore my options more now.
@smashjam that is encouraging to hear, I think the group I am with now would try cervadil first (though I should make a note to ask them that....as if I did not grill them enough yesterday lol) before moving to pit, but this one hospital by me apparently does the pit superrrr slow if you get to the point of needing it, and they still have the lowest c section rate in the county, so making inductions go slower does not increase the odds of c section at this hospital.
And you guys were right about resources at the other clinic...I called earlier to see if I could go in for a meet and greet, and could not reach a human. I sat on hold for 15 mins before hanging up, and the whole time it kept telling me I was the 4th caller in line. I will probably try again tomorrow, but we'll see.
Done with appointment and US! Baby was sleepy and not super cooperative but he is growing well and is in the 50th % percentile. He is diagonal and the head is down I guess just not completely. going back in 3 weeks for the tdap and checkup and then in 5 for another US. OB said at 34 weeks we start going in twice a week...can't believe we are so close to that!!! Fluids, placenta and cervix are all looking good. Of course baby is moving now that we're home, lol.
There was a woman there for a PP visit and she was raving about her birth experience with the doctor. She seems genuine, I'd say it's a good sign!
Anyone watch the Handmaids Tale? Just watched the first two episodes of season 2 aaaaaand now I’m depressed. No spoilers, the premise of the whole show is just sad is all.
Holy crap waxing. Why does it hurt sooooooooo bad while pregnant!!! It was totally worth it but boy, even for a veteran like me this shit wasn't pleasant .And they used hard wax which is less painful. Can't wait for next fall/winter when I'm healed enough down there to not feel as much discomfort.
Now DH and I better get some action on the babymoon because even though I've done this to feel nice and clean down there at the beach it's also for him! I might have to take him up on the laser hair removal...has anyone done it down there? DH did it on his back and he keeps telling me I'm dumb to spend money waxing but I'm skeptical.

I’ll join you in pain tomorrow. It’s been a while since I’ve been waxed but I can’t rake it anymore. Plan is for now at 27 weeks and again at 37 weeks. However when I called to book today my normal lady isn’t there. I’m sad. Now I’ll have more pain and a stranger
@kissableviv yeah not looking forward to waxing soon. It’s been a long time and i didn’t Brazilian (but only bikini while pregnant). I started laser for Brazilian just a few months before getting pregnant so I’ll be starting up again in August/September once I’m healed. It’s a quicker process and discomfort is different. I have a membership for 30 bucks a month for 18 months for however many sessions every 5/6 weeks. Way cheaper than ~60 i would pay for waxing. I’m actually thinking of adding for my underarms.
@zande2016 I watched season 1 - haven't started season 2 yet. New episodes of Call the Midwife just hit Netflix too. Right now i'm binging Heart of Dixie for something light I don't have to pay attention to while working from bed. I keep affecting a twang and added Remington and Rhett to the name list :-P DH veto'd both.
@kissableviv also something i noticed my body responded differently while on the IUD and without it. Hormones can play a part with how regrows like @lindsayleigh1989 said.
@kissableviv You are much braver than I am. Actually, I've never worked up the courage to get a bikini or brazilian wax...even before pregnancy. It's something I really want to do but I'm such a wuss....any tips since you are a veteran? @wildtot Is it less painful to get the laser treatment?
@foxbaby2016 what i hate about it is having to shave before the laser. I get super itchy and yes if you choose Brazilian you need to shave the back too (grab a mirror lol). The laser itself isn’t painful, slight sting here and there but nothing like pulling hair out. The occasional burning hair smell. The after care is that you can’t expose to sun for some time and apply sunscreen. I got some itchiness on the underwear line for a day after but then as the hair starts to come out it’s all back to normal. You’ll start to see hair fall out about a week or so later (i think it’s so cool to see that!) I’m prone to ingrowns with waxing so laser was nice. The actual procedure is like 3-5 mins.
@zande2016 I read the book and saw season 1.. I didn’t know season 2 was out yet! It’s such a depressing storyline in general, I have to be in the right mood to watch it. @BrittG13 that reminds me!..
DH has been saying he’s seeing the number 66 everywhere for the past couple months.. I’m not superstitious but he is. He’s asking if it’s a sign and if he should get a check up Don’t get me started on what it takes to get this man to follow up with a doctors/dentist visit. I say it means the baby will come on 6/6.. It would obviously be early, but that would be crazy!
Ladies I’m so freaking behind on everything! This is my busy week at work (close week for any of you other accountants out there) and I haven’t been able to bump very much. Just wanted to hop on and say I miss interacting with you all
I do Brazilian sugaring and tried out a new lady a couple weeks ago. Holy hell - it hurt very very badly! I'm not positive if I'll go to her again, or if it was just from being pregnant (though I don't remember it hurting that badly when pregnant last time). Luckily my hair grows in much finer and slower when I'm pregnant.
I actually did laser treatments on my underarms after DD. It took a lot of extra treatments and then ultimately didn't work at all - the lady believes it was because I was still nursing DD so the hormones were acting out.
@gingerbride26 ahhhh thank you for the head's up on call the midwife, sucks for my husband lol. He was so happy when we finally got to the end of the episodes on Netflix.
@acunamatada it looks like they're releasing 2 at a time per week.
Yesterday was crazy at work and today is looking much more calm. Which is not helping my motivation because I do not want to work today, at all.
+1 for not wanting to work. I'm now 2 for 2 for not sleeping well (last night due to poor food choices)... i'm extra tired and there's no food in the house except leftover culprits from last night... I'm going to have to run out for something light and more milk for DD but that will require pants...and shoes...
@acunamatada not wanting you to give birth so early but 6/6 is my birthday:) that's why I would love it if this baby came on his 7/7 due daye, lol (a girl can dream).
Before baby I never felt like waxing would hurt because I was kind of numb from many years of doing it but I think now my skin is more sensitive. Hair needs to be 1/4 inch long and imo if it's longer it hurts more! Pre baby popping an Advil definitely helped. Now it was just being brave and thinking about the pain of giving birth lol. It's better today after I pretty much peri bottled the area and used coconut oil.
Gahhh just need to vent. DH is at it again with his expensive hobbies and interests. A while ago we had a smoker that his dog (yes I call it HIS dog) chewed up the wiring and instead of spending a couple hundred to repair it he said f-it! and threw it away saying he would never get another smoker. Well guess what! He's looking at smokers and its over 1K because somehow it's sooo much better than the others. And he HAS to get it before baby because we'll be limited on $ after then. We can't save because of these trends it's so frustrating! Plus he's still spending money on his RC car and training his dog every weekend with a private trainer. I told him that he's gonna have to give up something because it's just not fair. I don't plan things for myself because we are always short or I don't want to be the cause of being short. With all this money he spends I could pay off more of my student loans and car payment or save! It's a game of deal or no deal with this guys it's frustrating and if I say no he goes straight to saying I never let him do anything. GRRRR He's planning on getting it this weekend. He'll probably say its an early father's/birthday day gift....yeah my "gifts" don't compare to this. He didn't even want to spend a few hundred for DS bday! Rant over - sorry ladies
Ugh @wildtot money stuff is the worst part of being married so often. I can't remember if you've said before, but what about giving each other $XX per month that you can spend on whatever you want and have it go to your own accounts? I keep $350 per paycheck in my own account and the rest goes in our joint account. So, I basically can spend $700 per month on whatever I want or save it for something large later. Recently I've been overspending on baby stuff but in general I spend less than that and have built up a "nest egg" in my personal account. It makes for WAY less arguments around here, and questions like "Why did you spend $35 at Taco Bell?!?!"
@wildtot your husband throwing the smoker away instead of trying to fix it reminds me sooo much of my husband. He does crap like that all the time and drives me nuts. Whenever a little baby poop got on clothes, I'd catch him throwing it away....ummm, you're literally throwing money away, it's called a washing machine. In your case, a couple hundred to fix the smoker seems much more practical than spending 1,000 on a new one.
So Bill Cosby was found guilty. I'm not too surprised. Sounds like he'll spend the rest of his life in prison.
@wildtot I would tell him you expect him to spend the same amount he spends on the smoker spoiling you before the baby comes. So sorry he is being so selfish
@MichelleAG05 i have my own account that gets 150 a month from my check but otherwise we have a joint account. I’ve mentioned agreeing a spending amount per month but we never really follow through. My biggest concern are the medical bills yet to come and he’s now getting his foot checked out and high chance of an expensive procedure so who knows. I just texted him and was honest with how uncertain it makes me feel. He gets it (so he says). So we’ll see what happens when he gets home. I hate money talk.
@wildtot that's so hard. I am sorry you have to keep dealing with that. DH and I have such a hard time with this when money is tight, deciding where to spend money. His toys are always so pricey and mine are like, a book (or 5, honestly). We have thought about holding back a specific amount a month but can't agree on what.
Also @MichelleAG05 I am judging you for spending $35 at Taco Bell. (j/k)
Today I saw my garlic sprouts from the fall have come up, and some of my strawberries are trying to come up, and the rhubarb is pushing its way out too! I'm so excited for things to start greening up!

You all have me intrigued about Call the Midwife, guess I'm starting a new show tonight
Rant over - sorry ladies
