  • @littlewhitecottage yesss!!! Last pregnancy I got one at 5 1/2 weeks and the next one was 13 weeks so i missed the famous gummy bear phase. But this time around my first appoitment isn't until i am 7 1/2 weeks so bring on the gummy bear!
Always hold on to hope ❤
  • I really wish they gave you a sonagram when u get an ultrasound at the ER. I would have loved our first take home pic of our nugget

@runrinserepeat aw ok.  My first ultrasound is scheduled for 8.5 weeks so I should be smack in the middle of gummy bear phase! <3

  • I had my first US Monday in the ER due to spotting. Thank goodness the tech had a heart and confirmed a heartbeat. An hour later, a resident informed us he was waiting for results and that I may be having a miscarriage. Our scheduled US tomorrow. Can’t wait to have a pic to share
  • @mch195 FX everything goes well tomorrow!

  • @mch195 that's so good to hear!

I will be 5weeks tomorrow. I have a transvaginal U/S scheduled for Monday. I'll be 5w3d. I'm sure it'll be too soon to hear the heartbeat, but I'm still hoping to!

  • @CecilB93 Danget, did not even think of that! Thank you, all fixed.
  • LOOOVVEEE the good news @mch195 and @britt-mars !!!  Thanks for the update!! <3
  • @sarahann0787  Wouldn't an EDD of December 3rd make you farther along than 5 weeks 3 days or can I just not do math? Wouldn't that make you closer to 7 weeks?

@binxybaby I thought the same thing...

ETA unless the 5w3d is gestational age? Or whichever, I'm drawing a blank, but I know there's two numbers - mom's for how far along in the pregnancy, and baby's for how long it's been growing. Right? Or am I crazy?  :#

  • ...Anyone know which due date would be more accurate?
I've been listening to/reading some pregnancy/baby books lately and from what I heard/read, it seems like the dating ultrasound is more accurate, especially for women who have irregular cycles. Not sure if that applies, but my guess is your doctor will go by the ultrasound date.

+1. Though I'll say that my OB doesn't change the EDD unless the dating u/s moves it more than 6 days, so your doctor may decide to just stick with what you've got. I was 6 days off during my first pregnancy (and that was accurate according to my charting, which was pretty clear), but my OB left with with the EDD that was 6 days earlier.

  • @AGK2015 Yay! Such great news! And love the hat, haha.
  • Measuring more like 6weeks instead of 7, but baby looks good, nestled high in my uterus which made getting the heartbeat difficult, but we were able to see it nonetheless.

  • @westcoastfoodie YAY!  Awesome news! Are they going to change your due date at all or keep you the same for now?
  • @maureenmce I’ll Hear back from my doc within a few days, but I’m sure she’ll end up changing it since it’s a whole week off. I’m ok with that though as long as it’s healthy! A little bummed I blanked on asking what the heart rate was, but it looked a healthy pace. I suppose if anything’s wrong I’ll know in a few days.
