April Randoms

Happy April!  Wishing it would warm up beyond 30 degrees out here.  What’s the weather like where you live?

Congratulations @sarahhedger7!

Re: April Randoms

  • 70s and sunny here in Northern California! Took the all terrain stroller for a test drive on a short hike with the babies yesterday, and it was seriously the best. I've been so cooped up and it was just what I needed. Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!

It’s supposed to snow here later today.  In the next ten days, 3 have snow in the forecast.  I am not a cold weather fan and ideally I would love to move to Florida but don’t see that happening anytime soon since Alaska would be probably be my polar bear of a husband’s choice who wears shorts and t-shirts year round.  He doesn’t own a coat or long sleeve shirt by choice.

@megpeg - glad your dog wasn’t lost, but ugh I’d be ticked!  It is such a process to get out of the house these days with 3, I avoid it at all costs other then getting my daughter to/from school because we don’t get bus service.

@DDRRT1982 - I am putting it off for the same reason.  It’s sad to think just a year ago I wasn’t even pregnant much less thinking we’d ever have another baby.  It went by too fast.
  • @fatstagnation same with us. Wanting to do this again asap because of age. He's 38 in Nov, I'm 39 in July. We are going to wait a year and hope for a healthy and smooth pregnancy and delivery.  <3 wish you the best too.

<3@nancysimp Pregnancy at 40 to 41 was totally fine! Best of luck to you as well!

anyone else weepy after delivery? it's a rare day i don't cry. I'm not sad or anxious it's more like saying "i love you" to LO = weeping. Just overwhelmed with emotion and so so happy.

  • @fatstagnation

I'm still weepy with happiness and my little guy is 1 month tomorrow.  <3 just pure love ... the tears and feelings. I look at my baby and I think "wow, suddenly you're here and life is just so much more beautiful now". Such joy and commotion, having a little human that needs you!...wouldn't change it for the world.
  • @nancysimp yes, exactly! I'm pretty sure DH was screening me for Postpartum Depression the other day. hahaha But it's not that at all. Just pure love. :D

  • Could you have just had some breakthrough bleeding? I am 4 weeks out and still have blood some days.

  • @LeahS927 I got a period too! Pretty sure I was ovulating too. My OB is getting me on BC!
  • I bleed for a full five weeks.  Maybe it's not really a period and breakthrough bleeding like megpeg said.  Let's hope!

With my daughter I bled for 8 weeks.
and With my son 6 weeks.  Both of them were vaginal births.  It took me 11 months to get a period last time and hoping it’s the same or longer this time around!

Something that should not happen together ever. Newborn waking every few hours overnight with a puking/sick older child.  What a horrible combo!
  • Ugh, that's a bad night @mmom3.  I hope everyone is better soon.
  • Ugh sorry @mmom3!

@BrittnieMariee we got a new dishwasher in February and I felt the same way.

  • @mmom3 so sorry! My toddler was just awake for no reason at 11:30, and again from 1-4. And of course Emma woke up to eat between those times. I swear they team up to make sure mom doesn’t sleep.

@megpeg I want our next upgrade to be the dishwasher! We only got the fridge because my FIL wanted our old one to put in the apartment he built for my SIL lol which I’m totally okay with!

  • I want to chalk paint our bathroom cabinets since I’m home and have the time!
  • @slr1229 I keep looking at doing that. I need new flooring so I want to do it before we put that in.

  • @BrittnieMariee I highly recommend a kitchen aid. I can barely hear it running and it works amazing.

  • @mmom3 - that’s my worst nightmare! I hope all has settled down now.
  • mmom3mmom3 member
Thanks ladies - it was not a fun night.  Of course it started 10 minutes after she went to bed instead of during the day.  She just finally had a piece of toast about 15 hours after it started and fingers crossed it stays down.

On a a different note heading to Charlie’s 1 month appointment in a bit.  He’s still pretty jaundice so I’m nervous what’s going to happen next as pushing formula and continuing to BF doesn’t seem to have helped.
  • Earlier today my husband sent me a text from work “I need a nap”...I about lost it.  I told him he can sleep in the guest bedroom if baby is too loud.  Just now she was having a hard time burping (always does during one night feed) and he just got up and left with pillow.  Men

@slr1229 - we left the bed in what was our guest bedroom because DH now moved into that room because he doesn’t want to be disturbed by the baby and me even on his days off.  The only nap I’ve been able to take since having the baby is when my parents came over once and basically made
me take a nap while they helped with my son.  But my husband pretty much naps always on both weekend days all afternoon long.  So unfair.

I was at Costco yesterday and ran into a lady that had six kids with the youngest being the same age as our babies.  On my way out she said good luck.  I was telling my husband about that last night and he told me we are going to have seven. Dead serious too.  I was like no we aren't.  I am struggling to care for the ones I have with no help from you, so I don't think so.  Why would a man that barely likes to do any of the mundane parenting stuff want to have so many kids? It's interesting to me.
  • Guys I’m 7 days overdue and trying not to break. I really want to follow through with doing this med-free. I had an epidural with DD and it was an awful experience (low blood pressure issues, pushing stressed her and made them use the vacuum and do major damage down there to me, she ended up being too wiped and stressed to get nursing down, I was a mess...). I did med-free with DS and felt so good and nursing went well. This is important to me but I’m stressing that my body isn’t going to do it on its own this time. DH cleared 2 weeks of his work schedule starting last week so I’ve already lost his help with the older kids for an entire week because I’m overdue and im feeling the pressure of getting the baby here before we lose more days of this week that he had cleared to help.
I’ve tried pumping, sex, nipple stimulation, spicy foods, red raspberry leaf tea....
  • @DDRRT1982 Agh that sounds really frustrating. Maybe he wants more because he doesn't do that stuff and it's easy for him?

@StephBrim24 That sucks! I'm sorry. Do you know whether you are dilated at all? Sorry if I missed that elsewhere. I haaaated the foley but it isn't a drug... I *guess you could do that. Maybe it would hurt less for you since you're not a FTM.
  • Most definitely, @vflux33.  Why wouldn't you want a gazillion cute people that adore you when all you have to do is he the fun guy?

@StephBrim24 you are doing awesome!  Just keep complaining to us and get it out.  I think you should definitely wait it our or go with what your doctor recommends.  Get your membranes stripped too.
  • @vflux33 I was a tight 2cm on Monday. I haven’t been checked since then. That wasn’t quite enough to do a membrane sweep at the time. It’s driving me nuts that I might be far enough today but my next appointment is on Monday.
