I was laying in bed one night and just felt weird movement. I don't really know how to describe it, but it was different than anything else I've felt. I also swear there was a small kick.
I feel feel the baby move internaly if i press my hand against my lower abdomen. I had an ultrasound at urgent care last week ( **tw tiny amount of spotting but I've had 3 mc so i panicked, everything's fine**) and i watched the baby move and felt it at the same time so I'm feeling confident. I was eleven weeks then
I'm 10 weeks and I just felt something today, too! I thought I was going nuts so I'm glad that other people are feeling it early as well! I can't quite remember, but I don't think I felt DD until like 14 weeks.
Same thing here - about a week ago, 12w and a few days. It was the strangest sensation, like a moth trapped inside somewhere lower than my belly button. I shifted positions, and it went away. Come back strange flutter!
Thank you guys!! I feel so much less crazy now! DD1 and DD2 were both anterior placentas and I felt them both around 14 weeks so I guess maybe this one isn’t anterior? Anyway. YAY babies!!
I didn’t feel DS until like 26 weeks and even then he was a lazy baby and it was rare that I felt anything. I’m feeling things this time, but I’m thinking it’s just gas and tummy rumbles since I’ve been having epic stomach issues this go about.
Okay so this might be unpopular to share but it falls under my personal list of "things no one tells expecting mothers" / "advice from 2t+ pregnant folk"
I felt movement during my first pregnancy in a few different ways, and it felt like the further along i was the more types of movement i felt.
My mom shared with me that one of the strangest seasons she has was after she was pregnant, when she definitely wsant pregnant, she'd feel some of those same sensations.
I had a friend who went through a pregnancy shortly before i did say the same thing, and i definitely experienced it afterwards. I think our bodied are changing and shifting so much that it's hard to tell, especially the first time around, what's the baby's movement and what's just a combo of increased awareness to our bodies and the shifting of all our organs as things get compressed and moved for the baby.
I'm really not discounting anyone's baby movement experiences, I've definitely felt my baby move @11weeks. I just think it's an interesting thing to look forward to post pregnancy i guess is all lol
@knottieamusements I decided to just get up and have some tea and eat breakfast before the kids woke up. It actually worked out great because even though I'm exhausted, this is the best parent I've been in like 2 weeks lol
@theglitteredpterodactyl postpartum phantom kicks are definitely a thing. So weird. I have also had gas bubbles that feel like KICKS, but it being so early it’s easy to know that they’re gas bubbles because of how they feel and how early it is.
@sammierose464 Most RE clinics will talk to you about how to deal with negativity surrounding ART (assisted reproductive technologies- anything from fertility meds to IUI (aka fancy turkey baster) to IVF). Some people are vehemently against it (which is their right to be against it. But that shouldn't make you a shitty human to other humans). But doctors do tell you to be prepared to deal with it. I knew I would get stuff like that- I see it online all the time, like after that fertility clinic lost those 4000 embryos a few weeks ago in Ohio...jesus, you should have seen the comments sections on those articles. It was disgusting- people saying women deserved it since they were 'playing god' and 'happy those babies didn't have to grow up with some gay-boy parents' (literally, that was an actual comment)...some humans can be repugnant. I choose to to be above them.
@hellopartyof5@knottieamusements +1 to the 3am wakeup call. My cat had a bad case of the zoomies and sprung off my hip in excitement. Then, of course, I had to pee.
crappy night here too! DH couldn’t sleep. (said he didn’t sleep at all) So of course... I didn’t get to sleep much either. Guess at least I’ll be ready to wake up every hour or two with the baby!
@DunkinDecaf I posted about it last week. Mine was more fluttery like you’re “supposed” to feel for first movements. I never felt that with my first pregnancy - it was straight to actual kicks/movements that even my husband could feel. It was twins, but that was at 12 weeks, so I couldn’t decide if I was feeling movement or having muscle spasms (since 2nd+ you’re supposed to feel it earlier). A few days ago, I felt something more like a kick, although I still couldn’t feel it with my hand. I was 10 weeks on Wednesday, so it’s definitely making me question my sanity.
I had 2 very active babies with my first pregnancy and didn’t have a single phantom movement after they were born. I kept waiting for it because I had heard pretty much everybody gets them, but it never happened for me.
I'm wait late to the discussion but I take the Target brand prenatals that have the DHA in them and the DHA is plant based. So no fish burps and it might be vegan if anyone is looking.
@theglitteredpterodactyl I’m not sure my phantom kicks after DS ever went away. Or maybe not so much phantom kicks as just noticing that random little twitchs feel the same as small baby movements. So while I’ve felt some things this time that were possibly baby, they also feel the same as things I felt when I wasn’t pregnant. So who knows. Eventually they’ll be no question when they’re throwing full punches to the ribs in there.
+1 for LOTS of phantom kicks after DS. They didn’t stop until shortly before I got pregnant. I’ve felt this baby move a few times since the 11 week mark. Seems crazy but everything I’ve read says that’s about average for 2-3 pregnancies, so I’m exicted!
I had the BEST NT scan tech today!!! She seriously talked me through literally everything she was measuring. I've never had someone explain like that in my previous pregnancies, so it was really nice. She even would say what the number they were looking for is, and what mine was. I was impressed! Although I'm sure if the number wasn't good she probably wouldn't have been so forthcoming.
Does anyone else hate everything and everyone? I’m just ragey all the time right now, not fun to be around. I also am near tears all the time. My poor Dh and toddler.
@HoosOnFirst Pretty much. I go back and forth between general annoyance/zero tolerance for everyone's nonsense and everything to complete and total apathy*. It's like I'm living in the multiple personalities of Ron Swanson. (Spoiler so the gifs don't take up too much space)
*this because I forgot that I've totally teared up the last two Sundays when I went to church. So maybe I'm not a complete void of other emotions yet.
@HoosOnFirst anything and everything was making me ugly cry horribly Saturday night continuously into Sunday morning. I felt so bad for DH but he handled it well and snuggled me till I fell asleep.. It was horrible and so unlike me.. I'm the "blackhole for a heart" friend so all these emotions are overwhelming...
@HoosOnFirst - I have been so freaking grumpy the last week and a half. I've always been kind of bad with things not going according to plan, but it really gets me bent out of shape. (My OB's office called me today to reschedule my 20 week ultrasound, and it totally got me bitchy - and that is still 6 weeks away!)
I swear I’ve felt some movement too, but thought I was nuts since it took so long to feel the last time. Feeling DD move was my favorite part of pregnancy, so I’m excited that I have that feeling again, even if it may not be movement yet.
Just remember, the scrotum is not a load bearing device. I honestly have to wonder if this is true because that is some super delicate tissue. Seems like a way to radically increase male infertility.

Also I found that post in the boy/girl poll thread...yikes.

@theglitteredpterodactyl I totally am so much more body aware after my first pregnancy. I HATE it.
