So today is our 9 year wedding anniversary. We are both lame and only remember this because a Facebook memory popped up. DH took the day off and is being Mr. Fix It and cleaning the whole house. I would love to have taken today off too but don't have as much PTO as him so hoarding all my time for mat leave. We're the least romantic couple in history, and it has just occurred to us that this will be our last anniversary with just the two of us. So now we feel like we should do something to celebrate, but can't come up with any good ideas because normally we wouldn't do anything! Seriously, last year I was at the gym!
@paytonpedro yuck no fun! @kissableviv that would annoy me too! you put in all this hard work and it is basically be handed to someone now who isn't qualified. @noideawhatshesdoing happy anniversary!
@lindsayleigh1989 exactly, and I think what annoys me even more is that she knows I don't like it when gyms do that and she is basically asking me for a shortcut to teach something she is not fully qualified to. I even told her 2 weeks ago I would not teach yoga without a cert period and she was all in agreement. Whatever! Onwards and upwards...
So my mom just messaged me throwing out the idea of my flying out this weekend to surprise my family for my grandpa's retirement party (I thought it was last weekend). She is offering to pay for my flight and leave Friday night and return Sunday or Monday. She even mentioned bringing DS with me. Um as much as I would love to, its too much to deal with on my own especially with DS. I can't carry around that car seat, baggage and DS. Even with just me going, its also Easter Sunday! I can't miss that! And I just can't return on Monday when I have to work! And to top it off dealing with these contractions. Its a nice offer but such a bad timing. I don't get why my family picks the worst times to throw parties.
@kissableviv The having no cert thing annoys me. Not only do people put a lot of time, energy and money into the training for those, but to me it's also a safety issue. I personally don't want someone that isn't certified teaching me something. Could lead to injury. My dad's girlfriend teaches yoga, aerobics and some other things and has online training, but no certs or formal training so I won't take any of her classes. I was halfway through my training for certification for Jazzercise when I learned I was pregnant and decided not to push and complete it at this time. Not that my energy level in first trimester would have lead to a very good final audition anyways. I'll pick it back up in the fall or winter if I feel up to it.
@MrsMiller8588 I was thinking about that too! It’s so crazy! Viability day is right around now for a lot of us. Not that I want anyone to go into labor right now, but we’re definitely on the downward slope!
ETA I found an outfit that my MIL gave me when my son was born that belonged to my H originally. I said to him, “you must be so excited that I get to take more pictures of our kids in this outfit!” He’s not excited lol.
My dress came I ordered! I refuse to let negative self talk win and telling myself I look great and pregnant haha even if I don't look like the tiny model in the picture
My boss yelled out at me across our office suite today: "you look REALLY pregnant today!" Blank stare from me...seconds pass....then she adds "in a cute way!" I don't feel cute. I feel huge and exhausted and achy. Third trimester is still a couple weeks away, but it feels like I'm already there.
@zande2016 yeah everyone needs to check on you to make sure you look pregnant I guess?? Gah. Also, is 27 weeks the third tri? I thought it was 29 but what do I know lol
I think the second trimester starts at around 27 weeks. If you take 40 weeks and divide by 3 trimesters it's 13w3d for all of 1st tri, 26w6d marks the end of second tri, leaving another 13w3d for third tri (which actually puts you at 40w2d).

@gingerbride26 I am a working mom with a demanding career that I work my ass off for, so of course comments like that offend me and sting a little. The thing is, I'm OK with that. I hold my own opinions that are offensive to others so if someone thinks that by my kid being in day care I'm not raising her so be it. At the end of the day I am confident in my decisions and my kid is thriving and loved more than I can put in to words. I don't need 300 comments to shut down an opposing opinion , it's ok for people to have different opinions even if those opinions offend me. Btw this isn't aimed at you just a thought regarding the situation you shared.
@kissableviv that's super frustrating. One, it undermines the work and effort of trained instructors and two it can put people taking the class at risk. I'm not saying your friend isn't a skilled instructor despite not being certified but it definitely makes me go yikes!
@lindsayleigh1989 you look beautiful in that dress. I'm actually loving your maternity looks in general recently with all the gorgeous dresses + smile.
@zande2016 Yeha like 3 weeks ago I brought the dog into the vet and the vet said "wow you're like REALLY pregnant! I know I've seen you recently though? When did this happen?" I was like "ummm about 20 weeks ago?"
@lindsayleigh1989 can you share the link to that dress? Because I think you look amazing and I want to steal it (and hope I look half as good as you!).

I always thought 28 weeks, but I guess 27 makes more sense for third trimester? Who knows. At this point im almost 25 weeks, so "a couple weeks away from 3rd tri" feels accurate enough. I'm too tired to do math and be accurate lol
@mrsmiller06 of course!! It actually isn't a maternity dress rather an empire waist faux wrap dress! Here is the link they have lots of patterns. I did go one size up from what I would normally get for boob room.
@SmashJam I always wanted cute floral dress like they have on pink blush with my first and I am still to cheap haha but mainly for easter and to wear to church and maxi's are life during the last month of pregnancy!
@lindsayleigh1989 Thanks! I ended up ordering a different one with short sleeves but you definitely inspired it!!! I am wishfully thinking spring is around the corner and I have been SO warm while pregnant I was worried about the sleeves.

@lindsayleigh1989 You look fantastic!!! I just ordered a couple things from pink blush including one of those floral wrap dresses. We have a wedding to go to otherwise I wouldn’t bother. It was already $10 off and then an additional 30% so I got it for around $37. Hoping it fits and looks good on!
REALLLY bitter about all these stores that are moving to maternity online only. As if clothes shopping weren’t hard enough already...
Speaking of mat clothes...my plan of sizing up with bathing suits at Target was a FAIL.
I got 3 suits from them back before my honeymoon aka when I was my pre pregnancy size and loved them all. Now I still fit in the same bottoms but need new tops. All the large ones I got either fit super weird or not at all! Maybe because my busy is not a size L?? So disappointed. I do fit fine in a one piece size L and a tankini but I could really use a couple of tops. Also felt like I lost a lot of muscle mass, trying to be kind to my body but some days are harder than others!
@kissableviv yeah the boob sizing sucks and can be really hard. I definity know you aren't alone in the having a hard time being kind to our bodies but proud of you for working on being kind to yourself that is about all we can do.
@kissableviv I know its way more expensive and don't know if you have a brick and mortar one of these around you or have time to order but Athleta tops are my jam. Last pregnancy I bought an adjustable top so when my boobs got bigger I could just adjust, and they size a lot by cup.
@MrsMiller8588 what dress did you order? I am loving that wrap look but would also prefer a short sleeve because I'm praying it gets warm soon!
beanship I totally tried to find the onsie but would you believe there is not a single pic of her in it @tarheelgirl8 - asked OB today - she said totally normal for 2nd kid - she said only be concerned if you are also having cramping/uterine contractions.
So be careful what you wish for.... OB isn't thrilled with the idea of me flying at 26 weeks and going to the wedding... not a hard no, but wasn't a "yea no problem" - get to have a cervical check ultrasound next week to monitor cervical length (because of high-risk status, not normal)... DH took it rather well, going to make a decision after the check next week. I suggested we try to transfer my ticket to his mom for $ but he figures we'll just eat the ticket (guess you should always get travel insurance) instead and pull DD out of the wedding...so instead of palm trees i get another weekend without DH and potentially an in-law house guest...
@lindsayleigh1989 You look awesome. Awesome enough to inspire me to click on the link and purchase the same dress. Let's hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!
So I changed my avatar to something a little less identifying and now every time I see it, I'm like "who is this chick?" *face palm*
@SmashJam Athleta and I go way back I was actually there on Saturday and loved all their stuff but wanted to cry because of the pricetag lol. Maybe I'll splurge on one depending on taxes( yup, still waiting on a verdict from my tax guy, ugh).

@noideawhatshesdoing Happy Anniversary! We don't usually do big celebrations for them either, so I am probably not going to be much help.
