+ 1 for not understanding why people want to try to scare you or tell you how “terrible” and “hard” things will be. I just want to say “We’re adults who thought out and made a decision to have a child. We understand what’s involved. No need to tell me to ‘just wait’ until this or that happens. I get it”.
@MrsMiller8588 I also cannot believe he bathes every morning! That seems like it would take a lot of time!
I also hate it when people say to "just wait." I know we all do it sometimes but making it sound like two kids is hell and I can't handle it is ridiculous. I defriended two people last year because on facebook they went back and forth on all the things I "didn't understand" about having two because I jokingly wrote that "two was easier, right?" on my announcement. I re-friended but my hormones made me feel so dumb I couldn't deal with the mocking.
When I was preganant with my first, everyone said “oh you just wait *evil laugh.” But I am not getting many negative comments this time. Maybe because my response was a little snappy, so they know better? I have had losses so it would really irritate me that they thought I should fear the life change when I felt like I had gone through the worst already. This time, people comment more that when you have a second, things will be a little easier because you do not need to research every decision and know how you want to do things already.
@paytonpedro nope it is not too soon. Considering the pile of shit I have to bring with me to keep DS entertained, the fact that he's always a mess and grabbing things he shouldn't be, I dress for comfort and ease of clothing removal if that's part of the appt, lol.
@chaser61 I got a few "you just waits" at the beginning and I responded with "welp, I've been ready since Decemeber 2016 and that didn't quite pan out so I think I'm good." And then they acted all awkward about it and shut up.
***TW Most people know since losing DD that "Are you ready for two?" is a question that will be met with snark. End TW****
@SmashJam My saint of a mil was off today and watched DS for me at my appt so I really have no excuse. Leggings, boots, big comfy sweater... and no make up. I look like a bum with a bump.
I took pride in still getting dressed and putting on make up while I was on maternity leave with DD. Now I work from home and I rarely put on makeup or put on anything other than a t-shirt and jeans or leggings. And this was even before I got pregnant! I guess I've made the decision that sleeping in is more important to me than make up.
@ashbub714 I'm not completely sure on his routine but his alarm goes off at 5am and he is back in the room to finish his routine around 5:25 - somewhere in there he also let's the dogs out and eats breakfast. Haha
I love baths, but I am way too lazy to take one every morning. When I take a bath I read a book and stay in the tub for at least 30 minutes...

@kissableviv I just did another yoga video from ma yoga and this one was about "empowering yourself for labor" and talked about how we would be doing challenging poses but our breaths would get us through the intense part just like labor. I hung onto that thought as my legs burned and I hope I have the presence of mind to do that in birth! I really am liking these videos, even if I've only done three so far!

Pretty sure this was my exact outfit for work a few weeks ago LOL Maybe it was ok because the sweater was from Peas in a Pod? I used to wear heels and makeup every day and that is long over. I am that mom that is lucky if she brushes her hair...though I think it's more health than motherhood. I naired my leg's and shaved my pits to wear a spring dress yesterday and was pretty damn proud of myself lol #sorrynotsorry
@gingerbride26@paytonpedro I also rock the "bum with a bump" look most days, although I guess I wear legit pants most times. First pregnancy I bought new make up and actively tried to wear it so I wouldn't look frumpy. Now I don't wear makeup unless there is a chance of pictures. I was like that most of my life anyway so it wasn't really motherhood that caused it.

It’s like I’m looking in a mirror.... In fact that’s exactly what I wore to work Saturday.
+1 for bum with a bump. That's me today, I've also been super groggy and just can't get any work done!
@SmashJam I'm so happy you love them! I might follow your lead and do one today. Might be time for the "get baby into position" ones. The program is so empowering, I also hope I can put all that good stuff into practice!
Ugh please give me stegnth. My husband has a man cold and I just don't know if I have the patience right now. I asked him to find the Zantac for me because I've had the worst, constant heartburn since yesterday (actually since we had lunch his mom made at their house yesterday....just sayin). His response? I don't know where it is, I'm not feeling well, in going to go poop (loud dramatic cough, followed by 3 sneezes). Great, take some cold medicine, you're not pregnant so go ahead and drug yourself up. Ughhh.
How do i nicely tell the sitter to change DSs diaper more often. I thought it was weird that she goes longer with packet of diaper than my other sitter but it’s been a handful of times that we pick him up with a huge pee diaper. Like i can see it from the back. The least she can do is change him before we pick him up, i don’t want to worry another changing him if i need to run an errand.
@wildtot that's tough. I also find my mom and my husband both don't change the diaper enough. I have no problem telling my husband (not that he listens to me) but I have no clue how to tell my mom. Could you maybe say he had a rash and the doctor told you to change every 2 hours so you're just passing on the message?
@zande2016 My husband is currently pooping and will probably be in there for the next half hour. *eyeroll* Man cold is such a real thing, I wouldn’t have the patience either.
@wildtot That’s a tough one. I would just be honest. Just ask if she can change him before he leaves because you guys often run errands and his diaper was so full it leaked yesterday. Or tell a little white lie. I would just be nice about it. But I think it’s totally weird that she would send him home like that, especially when you’re supplying her with diapers...
@zande2016@paytonpedro yeah DH said the same about asking her to change it before we pick him up. I would hope he gets at least two changes while he’s there (my 3 if he poops) but that’s more accurate to what we do over the weekend (aside from morning and bedtime change). He has leaked during his nap there which unusual for him so i told her maybe it was time to size up on diapers but adviced changing him before his nap. This is a down side to a sitter vs a daycare. Most daycares are required to change every 2-3 hrs. He does get this weird redness in his frontal area that the doctor has no concern about but i can use that as an excuse.

@wildtot This. I would definitely tell a little white lie about doctor’s orders. There’s no reason he shouldn’t AT LEAST be changed right before you pick him up.
I know there has been some discussion about baby shower's but when is everyone having there's (if you are having one)? Also I noticed June BMB has a shower thread to AW shower's and what worked/didn't work. Any interest in a great big shower thread? Mine isn't until June so I wouldn't be able to contribute much.

@MrsMiller8588 I'm not having a shower since it's my 2nd boy in less than 2 years, but I'm all for a shower thread, which I will creepily stalk for pretty photos and food porn
@zande2016 Yeah I like stalking the June one, but I thought it would be more fun to stalk within our group. Just don't know if its too soon and I should wait until we get to 3rd tri?

Some of us should be really close to 3rd trimester @MrsMiller8588 hmmm I think my shower was at 34 weeks last time, but many people have them earlier. I think at some point in April it would be totally fine to start
@MrsMiller8588 my baby shower is in May. I'm all for a baby shower aw thread. My sil and her sil are throwing me a shower. They're more excited about than me. I don't do themes or any of that. So when asked, I said puppy dogs with a purple collar and bow.
My brother and sil filled my trunk up with more hand me down clothes, this time 6 months - 2T. My niece is only 18 months, so Im assuming I'm getting clothes my sil doesnt like. Fine by me. Lol they also gave me a bouncy swing that hangs from the door, shoes, and 2 shopping cart covers (homemade). They are holding a crib for us as well. We just need to buy a mattress when the time comes. Our lo is so well dressed already.
I'm all for a shower thread. Mine is may 19th! Finally getting that on the way...my BFF who was so up in arms about planning is not even sure she can make it to it, but 3 more people are on it thankfully.
@lindsayleigh1989 feel better! Thanks for the stalking note *opens November BMB*
@zombiehoohaa My sister is throwing me a shower and kept asking me all these questions about themes and what I want. I was so confused... I told her the theme was a baby boy. Then she told me she was just asked to do one for her friend (3rd baby in 3 years). And not only did said friend request the shower (so 3rd baby wasn't left out), the friend also had very specific requests for food, decorations, games, everything!

wow that is crazy in Nov. As a former (and probably future) teacher, I bitched about my students/principal/fellow teachers all the time on my last BMB I hope that lady wasn't lurking in the background, lol. Luckily there were a lot of elementary school teachers on my last board so people seemed to understand that it didn't mean I was neglecting my job. Threatening to screen shot her words and send them to her principal is insanity.
Re: Weekday Randoms 3/26
@gingerbride26 the monograms and cake look awesome!
@MrsMiller8588 a bath every morning??? That is a little odd. How long are they?? I’m so intrigued by this lol
