Hi friends across TB! It's been discussed in TTGP we miss our old friends and would love to connect on a more frequent basis then just the grad thread.  We're going to start posting weekly threads here. Feel free to join, feel free to create a thread.   Please still be considerate with using TW when appropriate. There is no need to TW about children or pregnancy. Just trying this out to see how it goes. 


We'll kick it off with U/O thread because U/O threads are posted on Thursdays and I need order,  even in the Wild West.

I've never seen Moana, but I hate it because every time that movie is brought up,  without fail,  someone sings "I AM MOOOOAAANA" that alone will make me never watch it.

I actually hate that superhero things are being SO popular. Give me some more non-superhero / marvel movies!

@kristah2 I agree about the super hero movies. I like them, but I have no desire to see any more of them in the theaters. I'll watch them when they are on Netflix and there is nothing else appealing to watch. I still haven't even seen Wonder Woman or the latest Avengers.

@eleven_ & @kristah2 I'm totally over the super hero movies too but I saw Wonder women and really loved that movie.  I pretty much wanted to be her after seeing it.  But there isn't a school for that.     you gotta be born that way

In the spirit of man bun discussion, I just saw a guy in a muscle shirt with a man bun come out of Hollywood tans and I think he looked ridiculous. My uo I guess is I don’t like guys who are too vain about their appearance.

I actually like the super hero movies but I do agree maybe we could do with a little something different once in a while. Wonder Woman was great though.

@eleven_ I liked friends in my youth but I’ve seen it too many times for it to be funny anymore. My mom quotes it constantly and it drives me nuts. 

Another UO: I have always hated Roseanne and I can’t believe they’re bringing it back. She annoys the bejeezus outta me.

When I want to watch TV guilt free,  I throw a load of laundry in and my H is like a ghost.  Guilt free TV watching

U/o: McDonalds is disgusting and I cringe ever time someone feeds it to their kids. Also, process is more important than outcome. Plus also, Tom Cruise is a terrible actor.

@suzycupcake 100% agree about McD's. Finance guy here at work use to go there 2x a day (breakfast and lunch) and the smell through the window made me sick. Been great since they banned him from the going back 

ETA Tom cruise is a terrible person. I never cared for him as an actor but all the Scientology stuff just makes it worse.

@galactickates I love that you did this! I miss the TTGP girls and grads all the time. Also, sorry other people have ruined Moana for you. H and I watched it three times within a month when it came on Netflix. No shame in our Moana game. 

UO: Snow sucks. Honestly, after one good snow fall, I'm done with winter. There is no need for multiple snow falls. It's just cold and wet and makes everything slippery.

Jumping on the fast food UO. I don't know how people eat Subway. The meat does not look appetizing at all and bread smells should not permeate walls like that. It's gross.

+1 for Moana!  LOVE that movie especially HeiHei!  I crack up every time that damn chicken is on the screen.

I have never seen Moana. I am hesitant to watch cartoons sometimes because DH is obsessed with them and will often force me to watch them over and over with him once I watch them once (and yes, I did mean DH).

+1 hating super hero movies. Over it. 
+1 Friends is dumb. I have never gotten into it
-1 snow sucks. I love the snow! There's so many activities you can do 

-1 sushi is the bomb. 

AFM...The "March Up Not Out" stuff that has been circulating on FB in regards to kids marching up to the outsiders and making friends instead of marching out in protest is asinine.

@rosebud332 I'm sick of reboots period. Shows have their run, then they're over. They don't need to be brought back just because they were popular 20 years ago! Write some new material! Same goes for movies, they all seem to be sequels, remakes, or based on books.

Sort of on the topic of food, I don't like coffee, tea or alcohol. Never have, I'm 99% sure I just have a super strong aversion to bitter. And then if I mention it to people I usually get "you just need to try it with more milk/sugar" in the case of the first two, or "you just need to try a sweet drink!" for the latter. I'm pretty sure if a sugary wine cooler is too bitter for me, I'm not going to find a drink I like.

ETA On the other hand it's super convenient that when I do eventually get KU I don't have to worry about giving myself away by not drinking!

I don't know how unpopular this will be, but I do not like it how scrunchies are in again. What's next? Butterfly clips? NO! They need to stay in the 90s where they belong! 

@krashke Are we the same person? My list is the same as yours. I love the snow so effing much!

@krashke @eleven_ I just don't get the love for it. I follow a ton of photographers on IG and a lot of them will post photos from winter weddings where they're out in feet of snow. Or the ones with the ice caves. Beautiful photos but I literally could not wear just a dress and heels and pose in those conditions. nope nope nope

@SkilledSailor FFThC I wanted a winter wedding! MH refused and we ended up with October. We went to a wedding on NYE this year and it was like -8 (worse with the windchill) but everything was so cozy! There was a fire going at the reception and the bride/bridesmaids all had wool pashminas over their dresses.

@eleven_ I feel the exact same way about scrunchies! They just break your hair and don't look cute at all. 

Also, I think ugg boots are ugly *runs away*!!!!

@eleven_ Shut the front door!! Scrunchies are back?! I adore them and actually told some FB friends a little over a year ago that I was going to single handedly bring them back! I did it!!

Eta @suzycupcake my hair is thick and I get migraines from elastics being too right. Scrunchies hold it back loose (in a low pony) comfortably without slipping out. And they look cute in my hair

So, Friends is extremely dumb, but has anyone else actually rewatched it recently? I did a runthrough on Netflix as a background show (since there are so many episodes and require like zero of my attention while I'm working), OH MAN IS IT PROBLEMATIC!
