I think there must have been a big growth spurt this past week, because last week I was constantly hoping to feel movement on the outside so that DH and DD can experience it. Suddenly this week it’s very obvious. I was even relaxing in the tub tonight and watching my belly move.
@sunshineandwhiskey - We mostly want to use it for our furniture (crib, dresser, etc.) because they're the more expensive stuff. I figure if I can save 25% on the dresser and crib, that's almost $300 we're saving, which would make our bank accounts feel happier How did the process work, though? Just bring in some clothes/items, tell them you want to do the take-back program, and then go pick out what you wanted in exchange?
@izza2 we still need to drag our crap out of the basement. I want to see if DH wants to go this sunday maybe. But yah I want to know the processs also @sunshineandwhiskey do you have to use the discount that day? or does it just have an expiration date? I guess I could google that, but its 6 in the AM and I'm barely awake lol.

I think I'm finally getting that second trimester sex drive. I texted H to skip his first delivery this morning and just come home and give me the P, and then told him that if work objects to let them know his pregnant wife needs him and gets angry when her needs aren't met, and they don't want to deal with that.
He would never skip work, but I think it would be hilarious to see his dispatcher's reaction if he told him what I said!
@izza2 it was really easy! Take whatever you are turning it to customer service and they give you the coupons. If you bring in car seats/big items, you get the 25% of furniture, and then if you bring clothes you get the 25% off clothes. It is two separate coupons. Then you go shop, find fun stuff, and check out like normal using the coupons You can't stack, so you need one coupon per big item, but the 25% on clothes works on the entire clothes purchase. @catlady1215 My coupon said it expires the last day of the event... March 18

@catlady1215@kfren I had a super dark linea nigra really early (top and bottom) with DS. This time - nothing.
@aharv77 I used Easy Canvas Prints last time around and really liked the quality. They always seem to be having sales too.
@krashke but what if you hate the frames they give you?! My MIL gave me framed pictures for Christmas last year of people in her family. First, they were awful photos. Second, the frames were like cheap plastic and plexiglass. So now I either have to deal with ugly frames or do the work myself.
@2589 I'm telling myself there was a growth spurt because all of a sudden I look and feel super pregnant. Like, can't bend down to tie my shoes. I don't understand how I have 15 more weeks to go!
On the belly button front, DS asked to look at my belly button because he was showing me his. I pulled up my shirt and he started laughing at my belly button (which becomes an outtie by the end of the day). He thinks its hysterical.
I had a dream last night that I went into labor. I was laying down and my water broke so I started screaming for MH. Then a contraction started and he started going into all of the stuff we have learned so far in Bradley classes to relax through the contraction. I started yelling at him that I didn't want to relax through the contraction because I didn't want to be in labor because I was only 23 weeks. We have also decided to switch from the OB's with our practice to the Midwives so I show up at the hospital and there are three midwives there to help and they were so excited because this was their first birth. I was livid that they had not seen or assisted in a birth before.
Our next regular appointment will be the first one with the Midwives so I am definitely going to ask how much experience they have and how many births they have assisted in.

After a cold spurt it's a beautiful 70 degrees here today and it's also my birthday. I'll take not having to wear a coat for once! I'm meeting a friend at a lunch/brunch place and it can't wait to go devour some food. It's one of those happy days
@becca_123 happy birthday!!!! Enjoy a delicious lunch! Jealous of your warm weather. I'm the Californian over here complaining that 50 degrees is too cold. It got down into the 30s here overnight. Brr!!
MH just left for Phoenix to pick up the keys to our new place. Our lease starts today, but my last day of work is Sunday so we officially move on Monday. I have a super long list of things to get done before he gets back tomorrow. We'll see how I do. I just want to fastfoward 2 weeks and be unpacked and settled in our new house.

@becca_123 Happy birthday! Enjoy the weather! It is currently 17F here and we got about 4 in of snow yesterday that turned to straight ice today. To say I'm jealous is an understatement. Everyone is all getting ready for spring with the cute clothes in store and we have another solid two months before I can enjoy those.
@Amphibious22 GL with packing and the move! It's stressful but exciting! It will be fun to figure out your new space and how things will work well. We moved last summer from an apartment to our house and we had about a month overlap so I was all "we can do it leisurely and take stuff over gradually" and then one day I was so done so we packed everything up on a Friday night, got a uhaul for the next morning, got two guys to help us and we had it all moved and unloaded in the new house by noon.

@becca_123 Happy birthday! How awesome to have a warm sunny day. I'm also jealous...we had some 55° days a couple of weeks ago and today its snowing (and in western WA where I live, its very uncommon for snow escpecially this late).
On the photo conversation, we got family photos done with my fam last May. I ordered a bunch of prints and made a big gallery wall of pics of DH, DS and I. I really love it, but come June I feel like its going to be outdated and I'm going to have to get new photos with LO and do it all over again...lol
Happy Birthday, @becca_123! @Amphibious22 Best of luck with the move. Hopefully your new neighbors will be more considerate.
How bad is it that I let my boss order me a $500 chair (which just came in and is FABULOUS) without having yet revealed that I am 99% sure that I will not be returning after this baby is born?
@kfren ~ Speaking from personal experience, if you do decide you won’t be returning to work, even though it is obviously the considerate thing to do, don’t tell your work until after baby comes. If you tell them before, you won’t get your state pregnancy disability money or your paid family leave money (if you are entitied to any of that with pregnancy/delivery in your state).
@BurlapandLace Thanks for the heads up! I was planning on calling our Short-Term Disability provider and asking what the policy is on that (we're supposed to get 8 weeks.) I am friends with our branch HR liaison and she said I could contact a specific person in HR if I needed to that would tell me what my options are.
this pregnancy is flying by so fast that I completely forgot about hospital tours. maybe I just subconsciously figured ehh since we did it last time? but its been 6 years. so I went online to sign up yesterday. There are 2 open, on days DH is off, that we can possibly get to. 4/15 and 4/29. that 4/29 is only a few weeks before baby so I didn't want to wait that long. and 4/15 is even up in the air if we can make it... but I took it. I told DH I guess if we don't make it and do go into labor before our scheduled csection, someone will point us in the right direction as we go running in lol.

@catlady1215 I did a tour the other day (super early) because I have to decide by 28 weeks which hospital I want to use. Another woman was on the tour and she was due 2 weeks later. That was last minute! I think you are fine on 4/15.
@kfren I would not even intimate to anyone at your office or in your company that you are thinking about not coming back. You can ask about your benefits, but that's it. Hopefully there is a formal written document that will provide you with the necessary info - - I feel like some companies that pay parental leave may seek money back if you don't return.
My MIL just texted me that the shamrock shakes are back at McDonald’s. This could spell some major trouble for me with these sweets/milkshake cravings I’ve been having lately.
My MIL just texted me that the shamrock shakes are back at McDonald’s. This could spell some major trouble for me with these sweets/milkshake cravings I’ve been having lately.
I'm walking distance from DQ have been craving soft serve ice cream since day 1 basically - I feel your concern. lol
@burlapandlace I just checked again, there's maybe 1 full one that we could make it to lol. DH's work schedule makes things really hard to schedule things. he's off sundays and then his other off day rotates every week. and sadly they don't do them every sunday. And for evenings of work days, we never know how late he'll be working till that day, so those days are out.
@marcus7676 I feel good about 4/15, as long as our schedule stays clear! DH usually has one sunday a month that he gets stuck working atleast half day, I would not doubt that it'll just happen to be that weekend.
oh well, I'm sure we'll manage fine if we don't make it.

I had a glorious 3 day weekend. The best part was having yesterday off (President's Day), sending DS1 and DS2 to daycare and my husband was at work. I had my mom come over and we organized things that have been driving me bonkers since I moved into the house (just before Christmas). I feel so much better after a day like that.
But now I'm behind with all you ladies because I rarely bump at home and/or on weekends.

@kfren +1 to what @marcus7676 said. Even if you're friendly with hr I would still be extra cautious about it. I mean definitely enjoy the chair and the PTO but wait until you know for sure you're not coming back to say anything. I've been burned by hr and union crap before.
And @BurlapandLace this may be a ff(Tuesday)c but I've never had a shamrock shake. I don't even know what the flavor is. But I am also battling sweets cravings for real. It's getting dangerously close to the people at nothing Bundt cakes recognizing me when I come in.

I finally signed up for birth classes! 8 weeks, 3 hours every Sunday, going to miss 3 classes so those will be made up with another series so those days will be 6 hour days...? Might be a disaster but we’ll see. Just so happy to not think about it anymore!
@doxiemoxie212 Yay!! Are yours costly? I did a serious hunt for the free ones in our city and it wasn't until I was getting my phone fixed/changed that another lady was saying it's through the library and not the city that I could find it lol
@MissKittyDanger $495 total? Which seems, from my research, to be the cost for nearly any birth class here in NYC, and it includes classes on breastfeeding, etc.
ETA: for something like Bradley Method, at least (Hypnobabies, Lamaze, etc., seemed to be roughly the same price for in-person classes) -- I'm sure there are cheaper, less intense classes offered by hospitals, etc.
@doxiemoxie212 6 hours is intense, but I'm glad you found an option that (mostly) works with your schedule and locked it in!
@MissKittyDanger For another reference point, I'm in a major-but-not-Manhattan city and our 12 week Bradley Method class will be $300. Certainly not cheap, but less than the price of most workout classes here (a weird reference point, I know, but it's how I got comfortable with the expense). Our hospital offers free birth classes if your OB is affiliated, but they're usually a single, 3-hour session and we wanted something a little more comprehensive as nervous first timers.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes Brunch was excellent.
@Amphibious22 Take it easy moving! Don't let it get too stressful and it'll be all said and done before you know it.
As for classes, the slots for the ones I want aren't available yet so I think I have to wait another 2 weeks or so to sign up for them. I just know I forget about it for a couple weeks at a time and I hope that when I remember they aren't full or anything.
