I think I jinxed myself on the headaches. I thought, reading through the threads of you all talking about them lately, "Well I'm glad I don't have that." And sure enough, I've been getting annoying headaches almost every day this week. I often get weather related sinus headaches and we've been having some really crappy weather changes here, so I can't decide if it's that, or pregnancy related. They often start in my sinuses but migrate to the back of my head and even make my neck hurt. That said, Tylenol is absolutely useless. I was even contemplating buying a bottle of those new Advil Liqui-Gel "minis" they have out and just using them when I can't take it anymore. I feel like I'm already taking a handful of pills every day and adding 4-6 Tylenol to it is ridiculous.
Also, I feel like I'm drinking a ton of water throughout the day, trying to stay hydrated to hopefully help with the headaches and other dehydration symptoms I seem to be toying with, and I'm not really peeing as much as I think I should be. My first morning pee is my biggest of the day, and oddly I don't really feel like I have to pee when I get up. But during the day I get the urge, and it's a trickle. It's like my nerves are messed up and I can't tell how full my bladder is. Anyone else?
For anyone worrying about low supply because of pumping amounts - it's quite possible to have an adequate supply and not pump much. Some women don't respond to the pump like they do to a real baby. All sorts of things can contribute, wrong sized shields, old pump, worn flanges, etc. Also, it's a machine, nothing like the real thing! My LC would tell me, if you pump four ounces you could very well have four more in there. Baby can stay latched which stimulates on demand milk production. I worried and worried about my supply, I had a small baby, pretty much always in the 3rd percentile. All of my family would comment on how small he was and how I needed to supplement more or nurse more, etc. He didn't reach 13 pounds until 4 months. My pedi and LC had zero worry. I would cry in front of them and both assured me if they were concerned they would say something. They supported formula, it's not like they were bf only supporters. Once I took my MIL with me because she kept telling me I needed to supplement. She told them his cousin who was a month older was so much bigger and weighed xx pounds so something isn't right and both of them immediately we're like "We need to get away from this idea that bigger is better. Look at him, he's perfect. He's small. People come in all different shapes and sizes. Mom is small. Dad is small. Obesity isn't something to try and acheive from birth." I was like...ddaammnn. He was small and spritely...my milk was just fine. Trust your instincts when it comes to it. And if you have low supply, well thank God we live in a place where you have safe formulas and clean water to feed your baby.
@lakesideknitter Next OB appointment is this coming Wednesday, so there'll be peeing in a cup and I'll ask, definitely. Usually when I get a UTI my typical tell-tale symptom is discomfort while urinating, sometimes burning but usually just like a raw nerve pain, and so far none of that at all.
Though I've already been on two round of antibiotics during this pregnancy so far for bacteria found in my urine cultures, so who the heck knows. I also don't want to live my entire pregnancy on antibiotics, either. I guess with the copious amounts of water I'm drinking I'll go back to D-mannose powder in every single glass and cross my fingers.
@lalala2004 Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that. It's just such a weird feeling to have the normal "time to pee" urge and then it's just a trickle. It's not all the time, every few hours like normal. There just doesn't seem to be much urine. Which makes me wonder if I'm going to look like the Stay-Puft Man and be all bloated, cause the water is going in, but not coming out. :P
I want to talk about headaches. I don’t usually get them and I didn’t have them (much) with my first pregnancy, but I’m soooooo miserable. I’m getting multiple headaches a day, really debilitating-can’t-function types. Maybe they’re migraines? Time is the only thing that makes them go away. Tylenol may as well be a sugar pill - such a joke BS medicine. I have an appointment on Wed and plan that discuss them but wondering what everyone’s experiences have been.
The magnesium helped! Give it a try. The head pain is gone but I'm left with dizziness and nausea. I think something else must be going on with my body
@jsnakehole no I’m definitely not prone to headaches, have never had a migraine. That’s why this is so weird and unpleasant!
@rocknrollmom can you tell me more about magnesium? I know nothing! Like where do you get it, what’s the formulation, dose, etc? I’m so desperate I’ll try anything that’s safe right now!

I've been having a lot of "I'm not prepared for this situation" dreams. Two nights ago I dreamed I was waiting tables again (which I haven't done in 13 years) and I was overwhelmed and couldn't handle it. Then last night I dreamed I was at a dance festival and I was supposed to perform but no one told me that so I didn't have my costume and it was a huge mess... I hate those dreams.
I’m exhausted all the time but can’t sleep at night. Still nauseous & gagging half the time. I seem to have avoided DH & DS’s flu, but I got a cold or bad allergies that are making me miserable. No meds I’m allowed to take are helping, and I’m just tired of being sick.
Anyone ever take progesterone later in pregnancy? My dr has be starting suppositories twice a day due to my prior loss with PPROM. I’m really hesitant I feel like I’m going to feel like a gross wet mess. Not hesitant about the progesterone but the suppositories, I’m willing to do whatever to avoid that again I’m also afraid it’ll make me feel crappy again
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
I’m not hungry at all. Like not even a little. SO said something today to me. And I said I think my stomach is just squashed. And I feel full. Idk. I’ve never had this with the others.
Ugh... I threw up over a dozen times last night. But I feel better this morning. Still don’t feel like eating though. Hopefully there will not be a repeat of last night while I’m at school today.
@melprop I'm so sorry your still feeling that sick! Are you sure you didn't catch a bug on top of normal pregnancy nausea? Hope you can manage to get through the day!
heachaches/migraines are destroying me. Probably 4 days a week I’m useless due to killer pain. I go to bed hoping to wake up pain free; this morning I’m not so lucky. My acne is also flairing up. Stooooooopppppp
my dreams are CRAZY. I’m a stomach sleeper and am starting to have it feel uncomfortable, especially since I wake up with a full bladder
@lalala2004 and @jsnakehole my neck is covered. Which makes me want to leave my hair down to cover it, but I have to put it up at work. I'm just rolling with it at this point and kind of stopped trying to cover it up with anything. It's sort of like I'm 15 again, but with boobs that 15 year old me would have killed for!
@lalala2004@jsnakehole No face acne, but so much back-ne it's ridiculous. I run my hands across the upper parts of my shoulder blades and just shudder with grossness. I try scrubbing it but it doesn't do much good.
I don’t mean this to sound AW, so I hope it doesn’t come off that way. At what point does weight loss become something you are concerned about? I am 17w and have not made it back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I lost weight at the start of my pregnancy and gained a bit back, but am now losing weight again. I have not been sick and I eat meals and snacks all throughout the day, so no reason as to why. I’m worried the baby isn’t growing as it should. They’ve brought up my weight at every appointment and say oh but I’m sure you’ll catch up by next month. I don’t want to be a nervous Nellie if the OB says it’s fine, but I am at a loss of what to do at this point.
^^^ My Doctor told me that by the 5th month the scale should start climbing.
Yeah, I think around now is when the baby starts actually growing a lot, which should eventually show up on the scale. Like I'm at 16 and it's only 3.5 oz but by 20 its supposed to be over 10 and then goes up like 2 oz a week so it should start registering. My friend who gave birth in December only gained 15 lbs total though and 5 of those were in the last month so everyone is different.

@kc0711 - It's still early at this point and ditto PPs that every pregnancy is different. I know it's hard to hear but if your OB isn't worried at this point I'd say try not to worry.

I think the official answer is that a lot of this depends on where you start. Very obese people would gain way less than someone who is underweight to begin with.
@kc0711 if they haven’t already, they measure your uterus. If that falls behind, they might be concerned. That’s a better measure of the baby’s growth than your weight gain.
@kc0721 My friend is 27 weeks, and has only surpassed her starting weight since 24 weeks. She's tall, but pretty thin, and had lost 11 pounds in the first trimester due to nausea and stress. She's still only up 3 pounds overall, but the fetus growth looks good, so her doctor isn't concerned. Everyone is different. I've already gained 19 pounds!

I’m still below my pre-pregnancy weight at 14.5 weeks. I was with my first pregnancy too... I didn’t really start gaining until about 18 weeks. I’m about 10-20 lbs overweight to start with so I know I have some reserves. My OB has never mentioned any concerns.

Thank you all for the input! It definitely puts my mind at ease to hear from everyone else. Im relatively tall and thin, so maybe it’ll just take more time. I wish the OB just wouldn’t say anything, instead of bringing it up but saying it’s ok. Mixed signals lady!
@lalala2004 they have not measured yet, so I’ll ask about that at my next appointment. That does sound like a better gauge of how baby is doing than my weight.
