Re: APRIL FET

  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Happy Birthday!!! Feeling good today, but no signs really at all. I've had slight little cramping but not in the uterus area. My injection site for PIO is getting tender...guess I need to find another place lol Sorry you're feeling down but it's still really early!! I have heard some girls never get any cramping...I believe only a small % really feel implantation.

  • @kristimh80 My acupuncturist (who is a DTCM) always tells me to only eat warm foods after O/transfer but I never remember. I have 20+ food allergies/intolerances so I'm so limited in what I can eat anyway that I find it hard to follow any additional rules.

Same! The procedure itself seems like a breeze it’s the 9 days following it I’m gonna have a problem keepin it together.. my beta is 4/19, is yours the same? I’m for sure gonna take a HPT I’m thinking the 18th!

Oh great, one more thing? :D and how is this the first I’m hearing of this ?lol  Did the RE tell you this?
  • @ndz2018 No, just something I saw when googling away! I guess a lot of acupuncturist say this so uterus doesn't have contractions and stays warm. I'm my own worst enemy...I'll google anything!

  • @funkykey yay! What’s your cycle day???
@kristimh80 I did try to make sure I had warm foods but not really excluding cold. Like I kind of added bone broth to everything. Salad and bone broth lol. I do think I will keep my feet warm (another thing they always say at acupuncture.) and I only will bother about it in the tww. I’m like @tosh24 with celiacs (gluten intolerance) and multiple food sensitivities.... I even have to make my own sweet potato French fries for transfer day because I’m sensitive to most nightshades :/ lol
@ndz2018 I think I heard about the hot foods (and hot feet) from my acupuncturists. I’m sure most docs think it’s nonsense (might be) but this busy work keeps me sane! Lol

  • @dragonette505 Awe I hate you guys have celiacs! I'm pescatarian, so in a way I already eliminate a lot on my own. Figure lots of soups and going to try to make sure usually cold food is room temp before eating. I've been doing the sock thing as well. It'll be in the 70s the next couple of days here, so not sure how I'm going to swing that without feeling like I'm having hot flashes at work lol

@kristimh80 I think I’m the only celiac (I wrote that badly! Lol) but @tosh24 and I both have funny food things that make it harder. I also did let cold stuff go room temperature too! I figured it was a compromise! Lol
i did my last transfer around this time last year and was able keep my socks on, but I’m in NY and it’s still hella cold right now.
  • @dragonette505 I keeping thinking "this is supposed to be the easy part". Now I'm worried about socks, food and my butt is tender from shots! LOL

@ndz2018 if I’m looking at the paperwork right it looks like my beta will be on the 20th.  I’ll probably take a hpt a day or two before also.  The waiting is the hardest part.

    @artemis618 happy transfer day!
  • @artemis618, good luck today. I hope someone is driving you home after the procedure with the valium!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and good vibes.

I wish I had theist of things I need to do before transfer and after....all I did before was drink Pomagrante juice (which ran out) and I have a pineapple that's been sitting there for days that I forgot about. Should I even bother starting now?

I wish I had taken a bath or did highlights
  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Eat the pineapple...it can't hurt! lol I actually have Bromelain supplements because I knew I wouldn't remember or care to eat the pineapple core. Lots of these things maybe just old wise tales and we all are crazy enough at this point to try anything!

I did find this blog with a meal plan, etc for after FET. It gave me ideas if anyone is looking or bored with whatever they are doing :) https://withgreatexpectation.com/ivf/sample-meal-plan-two-week-wait/

ndz2018 That's where I got mine... i'll share the pic of them when I find it :)
artemis618 I did thigh high wool socks last time too, but this time I'm gonna put the pineapples on top of them! lol I also got my hubs some pineapple socks! Now I'm gonna add something green! I didn't know about that one! Please let us know how everything goes and show us baby's first pic!!! OMG!!!
@smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 I agree with @kristimh80 eat the pineapple...implantation takes several days so its still going on! (I also take a daily sup with bromelain too but will be eating the pineapple for good luck) :)
  • Here are some of my transfer day things
Now gotta find something green... or do the pineapples count???

  • funkykey re: coffee wine and etc... I agree with you... I don't think it is make or break ESPECIALLY before transfer... its not like this is an IVF cycle where we are impacting eggs we are about to use. I actually asked my functional medicine doc about the decaf coffee thing last week (mostly because I am worried about my thyroid though) and she said its caffeine that can impact thyroid function and really its caffeine that can constrict blood vessels for transfer... but that nobody thinks one cup is hurting anything. For now I'm having my decaf cup and will have a glass of wine here and there before transfer... but for me its less about my ute and more about my thyroid
  • @tosh24 Sorry your DH is being that way! Mine sometimes will complain and I give him the side-eye like wtf? Maybe tell DH, try this month then what you just said...will have testing etc, so there will be a break coming that he needs. I know they feel the stress because it's something they have no control over or can "fix"

  • So looks like my FET is cancelled. My mother called me around 430am hysterical and my uncle passed away. Unfortunately, we have to hop on a plane to CA .. looking at flights now. I was Actually more worried that my best friends father was gonna pass(he in the last stages of battling cancer) and I’d have to go be with her and this freakin happens. It was a complete shock and we don’t know what happened but my mother is a mess and she needs me. She tried to tell me to stay but I would literally be a wreck thinking that I’m not there for my family and want to be in a good, happy positive place for my transfer... and I cant knowing all this is going on. What’s a few more weeks when we’ve been waiting this long. I’ve made my peace with it.  I Emailed the nurse looks like I’ll be starting Provera for 10 days and should get my AF around the week of the 16th and start the process all over again
  • tosh24 Yay, so April is BACK on the menu!!! Fet's are so much easier and fewer appointments. Hubs only has to come to my next appointment (to sign paperwork) and of course the transfer! Just let him stay home for everything except the transfer (if he doesn't have to sign paperwork) that's ONE appointment and all he has to do is hold your hand :)
I totally get that its stressful, but like you said.... if this one doesn't work, he will get a break.

OMG! I'm so so sorry for your loss!! I'm sure your mother really needs you... losing a sibling has got to be one of the worst things in life...and of course we all grow up with our aunties and uncles being like extra parents. This is so sad.

  • @ndz2018 I am so sorry for your loss. Death of a family member is tough regardless, but when it's so sudden the shock must be crushing. I'm sure your mom will appreciate you being with her.

  • ndz2018 Nothing wrong with you! Hormones already will have you crying at the drop of a hat. PLUS you lost your uncle PLUS you are not putting your baby back as soon as you hoped! I'd be a hot mess right now. Youre NOT letting your embie down.... I cant imagine how stressful you'd feel going through the transfer during all of this... with a few weeks it will be a much better moment without all the fresh sorrow. This would be the opposite of making sure you are laughing and happy at transfer
  • @ndz2018 (((hugs))) I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle!! It's way more important like you said to be there for your mother during this time. Luckily, you have a frozen family now, so can transfer any time your heart desires. <3 Take care of yourself and try not to stress too much over everything that's going on.
