Re: Monday Bitchfest 2/12

  • I've been craving Cap'n Crunch w/ Crunch Berries with whole milk since Saturday. I finally broke down and bought some this morning. The sweetness of the cereal has given me a slight tummy ache.

@SmashJam GG is one of my obsessions! I relate to Michel's attitude a bit too closely.

  • My midwifes office still hasn't called me to go over my three hour glucose test results yet, even though I know they have them since the lab emailed them to me (which they only do after they send them to the doctor). Googling the ranges of passing vs failing tells me I probably failed, by ONE POINT, but I obviously need them to confirm that for me. I know I can call them myself but I kind of also just want to hide under a rock and pretend this doesn't exist. I'm feeling reallllly sad and bummed about this impending diagnosis, and kind of like a total failure. I know I'm just feeling sorry for myself but I can't help it right now. Also I really really hate my job and now I want to quit even more but I can't because money.
  • @acunamatada that sucks but LOL at the dog specifically eating your side.

My bitchfest is cookies! I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I really wanted some soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I grabbed some while grocery shopping and they were SO tasty and perfect. By the end of the day I ate 4 of them. While I don't think cookies are a health food, these were fairly little and not full of processed junk. After eating 4 cookies I checked the nutrition info. 140 per little cookie! TF?! How can you pack so much in to one tiny cookie?! And WHY is a serving size one tiny cookie?! How cruel! So I had close to 600 calories in just tiny cookies. Annnnnnd I still want another when I get home tonight.

  • @runsomewhere isn't that the worst? I hate when small food is just so bad for you!

@acunamatada about the pizza...that sucks. And it sucks even more that while your dog is getting payback for the poor choice, you are ultimately dealing with the inconvenience, lol. And the wedding ring! No!

I have a second one too...Prime Pantry costs extra shipping? I have a p.o. box so I don't get free two day shipping from paying for prime, its just free in general which is nice. But my point is that I already pay for service I don't get and having to pay and EXTRA $6 for the prime pantry is just insulting. Also Prime Pantry won't ship to P.o. boxes, so its all having to go to DH's work. what's with no love for p.o.s? lame.

  • @acunamatada I'm sorry but I have to admit I actually laughed out loud at work reading about your dog/pizza fiasco

@zande2016 maybe they won't diagnose you and just repeat the test in a few weeks?
  • @acunamatada My hubby lost his wedding ring last August at my moms house. We were playing pool volleyball and he lost it at some point during the game. We searched high and low in and around the pool and bushes. Never found it. Like 2 weeks ago my stepdad was cleaning out a planter near the pool and found the ring!! Crazy. Hopefully your hubs' ring shows up!! Even if it's 6 months later :)

  • @runsomewhere oooh now I want cookies.

@zande2016 fx you’re not stuck with GD! Maybe they’ll retest?
  • @acunamatada lost pizza is awful!!

my BF I have cleaned our house got a cheesecake in the oven and dinner in the crockpot and finally sit down to eat only for a migraine to start! UGHhHHH

  • Man you got a lot done @lindsayleigh1989 also...mmmm cheesecake. I hope that migraine resolves somewhat quick!
  • @acunamatada That is a total lab "I messed up and feel miserable" face. lol

  • This weather. The icy roads almost got me this morning. I was talking DS out of the car to go to the sitter and i started slipped forward with child in arms. So glad i was still facing the open door to catch on to. DS would of gotten it bad.
  • I’m the only Spanish speaking person in this office and i keep being asked for my translating services. It’s not part of my job to talk to customers and i have no idea what the usual talk tracks are! Can i just do my own job in my quiet corner?!?!?
  • @wildtot that's funny my bitchfest is about the fact that I can't learn Spanish.

My boyfriend is 100% Venezuelan, so him and his family speak Spanish to one another. His mom speaks mostly Spanish but is pretty fluent in English as well. I know my baby boy will most likely learn Spanish along with English, and so I feel like I should learn it as well. Also to better converse with his family. But it's so hard! Learning a new language at almost 22 years old is so difficult and frustrating I almost feel like giving up :(
  • @acunamatada My dog has done the same thing to me. Only it was a jalapeno pizza which wasn't hot enough so I added hot peppers from my garden. This was about a year ago, and now whenever we have pizza he thinks it's his!

  • @wildtot have them call me lol my company offers translation services! Haha
@acunamatada I'll admit that I also laughed quite a bit at your story but I'm sorry you didn't have pizza! DH and I had some last night and it was yummy.
@runsomewhere I hate when tiny things have so many calories. Definitely too much for a small cookie! I've been eating some of these trader Joe's cookies and they are 140 calories for 4 of them.

My BF is my developer. Everytime there is an issue he is insinuating I'm at fault. "You pulled the wrong content", I was like actually you're the one who did and he said "sorry, I meant to say SOMEONE puleld the wrong content" ...just because I just started doing more technical stuff in December it does not mean that I'm the one causing issues...ugh!
  • @noideawhatshesdoing the picture of that happening in my head is so funny and awkward. Did you die laughing when he told you that story? Because I might have had a hard time keeping a straight face!
  • @SmashJam He was laughing so hard when he told me about it, that at first I couldn't even understand what he was saying. It's just one of those things that only happens in a movie, never real life. We still laugh to the point of tears about it and this was probably 3 or 4 years ago.
  • @babyrojas2018 my husband hasn’t learned much in 5 years lol it can be hard sometimes. But you will probably understand it faster than actually speak it. The pressure is on me to teach our sons so hopefully i won’t lose it since i don’t use it everyday.
@kissableviv very tempting! Lol I’m on recorded lines too!
  • Up until now I haven't had too much of a problem with avoiding foods that are on the no no list, but yesterday my dad's girlfriend brought over this gloriously smelly soft French cheese and it is not nearly an enjoyable to just smell it. And today I just got the notice from the wine club we belong to that our first quarter shipment is on it's way. It is our one true splurge in life and now it's just taunting me. At least it will join everything that came in December. Telling myself we're just aging it. So less bitchfest, and more sadfest? I keep telling LO he/she better be pretty darn cute.
  • @noideawhatshesdoing a lot of the soft cheeses are pasteurized these days maybe you can still partake? i feel you though i love love love cheese

  • @kissableviv I am a QA Analyst and work with developers. There was one about a  year ago, who blamed me for everything! When I started providing videos on top of my screenshots, he shut his pie hole. Now I have a Network Engineer who wants to blame me for his lack of accountability. I think it's a man thing...

    Babysizer Geeky Pregnancy Tracker

  • @zombiehoohaa WTH! Yes, maybe it is...and he is also 10 years younger than me and in the past I would say 95% of the issues we had (though not many) we're his fault...so his track record isn't exactly great...
  • @lindsayleigh1989 If it was, I would have been all over it. This one wasn't sadly so I had to pass.
  • I had the perfect gift idea for my stepdad's birthday, he loves jack white and he's playing a brewery 45 minutes away from us. I went to buy tickets and they're freaking sold out! The concert isn't until the end of May and it's already sold out and if I buy the ticket from a third party they're more than double the original. So annoyed!
  • Another BF for me is my lunch...we went to a friend's house lastnight and she made lamb roast in the crock pot. It was amazing! Well, I brought some for lunch today. It sounded so disgusting that I almost puked. So I got myself a turkey and salami sandwich (toasted) from Subway. Put all my favorite fixings on it, just to be disappointed in how salty the salami tasted after being heated. WTH!?!?! Food is such a disappointment for me today.

@kissableviv The one developer who gave me a hard time last year retired mid 2017. The engineer is only 4-5 years older than me. I truly believe it is a man-thing. They have no problem pointing the fingers yet when they get called out, it's the "oops...well I meant this/that." punks.

  • Ugh i hate talking finances especially on a Monday! We got this refi going and now DH wants to pour some concrete pad in our back yard. This guy got experience taste! I’m just over here wanting to pay my school loans!
  • @acunamatada How’s the pup doing? I don’t want to freak you out but I thought onions were super poisonous to dogs... if he’s still struggling you may want / need to take him to the vet.
  • @tarheelgirl8 I have the same gripe with our daycare. I was pleasantly surprised that they gave us the list of kids so we could get Valentine’s Day cards over the weekend but usually it is two days notice. They haven’t asked us to bring in food yet, so I am waiting for that signup sheet to go up last minute.

@zg49 I chuckled when I read your post. I always have a sigh of relief when the bathroom stalls are all empty but then get stage fright when someone walks in. Glad I am not the only one.
  • @acunamatada How’s the pup doing? I don’t want to freak you out but I thought onions were super poisonous to dogs... if he’s still struggling you may want / need to take him to the vet.
THIS! @acunamatada Onions can be very toxic to dogs in moderate quantities. It causes damage to red blood cells and subsequently causes anemia. It usually presents within a day or two of ingestion. Signs to watch for are lethargy, weakness, pale or blue gums (especially after exercise). Make sure he's also eating and drinking as dehydration can become an issue.
  • @pretzellover @TalesOfASocialIntrovert back to his annoying normal self today! He’s gotten into worse in the past! But that’s good to know, I had no idea! He was never lethargic, he was still even eating and drinking and doing tricks for DS, but his tummy was definitely not happy with him.
  • @acunamatada my dumb dog has eaten grapes before, stolen from the kids. She never got sick. She has also lately been literally eating her own frozen poop outside if we forget to pick it up from our yard. So f-ing gross.

No more dogs for us after she dies...which should be in the next couple of years since she is supposedly 14 years old in a couple months. Kids are enough work.
