@wildtot hope you get out of there soon and your day improves
@stlmegs yikes that sounds painful. If you have to have it pulled you could just do it with localized pain meds. I had all 4 of mine pulled with just some novocaine shots. If the tooth needs to go it needs to go.
@stlmegs my doc said local was fine but now my dentist needs a letter from the doctor to give permission for my fillings. Check with the dentist if they need a note before you waste your time.
@stlmegs I had all 4 (impacted) wisdom teeth pulled with just local anesthetic and gas (nitrus oxide). The gas helped take the edge/nerves off and they give that during labor so assuming it's safe during extraction.
@zande2016 thanks! I think this is one of those situations where the more I think about it the worse it is. But I am fairly certain it's going to need to come out. It keeps hurting worse and worse.....
Meagan Married 6.12.10 DS 11.8.12 Baby GIRL! due 7.4.18
@stlmegs ugh I hear ya...I might need a tooth pulled soon too, plus an implant which I have never had before so not sure what to expect there. I really wish I could be knocked out for it, but I am pretty sure I'll have to be awake. But I am hoping to at least get the gas. It's really more unpleasant more than painful having a tooth pulled.
@Sarafuss oh no hope it isn't @WorkinWeezel Sorry friend I do not share your enthusiasm. Wish the majority of he fans at the game had treated ours with a whole lot more respect and class. While we are big fans of wentz assaulting and threatening opposing fans makes me less than thrilled to be welcoming them into our home state.
Based on what? Although I'm disappointed that there were fans throwing beer cans at Vikings fans, that does NOT represent the majority of fans. Everyone has unruly fans, everyone has fans that do shitty things. They just report on Eagles fans more because they like to capitalize on that reputation. Vikings fans dressed Rocky up in their gear; do they understand how disrespectful that is to Philly? You might not see it that way, you might see it as a friendly, peaceful jab, but that statue on those steps IS Philly. That IS who we are. I just hate being lumped in to being an aggressive fan; have you ever been to a Yankees game? I once had someone screaming and spitting on me because I was wearing my Phillies gear, and actually, now that I remember correctly, this was at a game IN PHILLY, not even in NY.
Wentz is not playing, unfortunately, and he is a major stand-up guy. Foles is a man of God as well and a very respectful person; most of our team is actually very religious and do not condone aggressive behavior. They are truly a family. THAT I'll stand by. They deserve to be there, despite what some unruly fans (which are found in EVERY city, just not reported on) may represent.
@stlmegs good luck!!!! I had my wisdom teeth out, but not while pregnant. I hope it goes smoothly and you are feeling better soon I feel like any oral pain is the worst!
@cseley321 while I loved my snuggle time with my babies as newborns in the middle of the night, I definitely bonded more with my daughter during these times- I think because I knew what to expect, whereas with my son I was a FTM and truly like a fish out of water. I couldn't believe that people could function on such a lack of sleep. With her, I already kind of knew what to expect. You're doing a good job!
@SmashJam also genetically predisposed! LOL! Although Tom Brady was such a class-act in his post-game interview (damn it!) I still just can't like the team. And Belichick is just such a slime to me. It's a shame that good players are overshadowed by the shadiness that turns out during/after games are won.
Add me to the "not connected" group. Glad I'm not alone in that. I was feeling like a bad mom about it the other day, especially because people keep saying "you must be so excited", no, I'm not. Doesn't mean LO is unwanted, but still doesn't feel real, and it wasn't planned, and it is a major life course correction for me. I'm hoping once I actually look pregnant and can feel LO moving around it will help, but I suspect it's going to take up until I have that baby in my arms to feel connected.
And I'm so jealous of you ladies that are not having a shower. I didn't have a bridal shower because I really hate groups and being the center of something just exacerbates my social anxiety. Thinking about it even now makes me start sweating. A fitness class or something is fine because I have a task at hand and everyone is focused on their own thing, but a social gathering just gets the better of me. I've not gone to so many showers/weddings/bbqs because I just can't do it. Sometimes will even get to the event and then I won't get out of the car. I'd really love to not have a shower, we're buying all the big stuff ourselves anyway. Even if I insist on not having a shower, mom won't listen and will do a surprise one anyway, so that's why my best friend is going to co-host with her so she can help manage it. Knowing it will be coming is anxiety inducing for me, but it's better for me to know when it will be than to know mom is doing it anyway without having a heads up on the date.
@WorkinWeezel Oh i have a lot of stories of fans being assaulted and I agree rocky being dressed up was very disrespecful but it does not mean a 6 year old should have been assaulted ,which he was, along with countless others. I agree it isnt all fans but holding signs saying "f*** millie" an old fan not to mention other incidents does not make me excited to welcome fans like that not all but fans like that into our home town.

ETA- hit send too soon- I have not heard a story about a child or an elderly woman being assaulted, but again, small group giving a bad name. My point is just that the media thrives on the bad being done by our fans, but never any other teams, and it happens everywhere. There's a lot of good that is done by our fans as well- many volunteer organizations, etc... in the name of our team but organized by fans to support those in need. You just never hear about it.
@noideawhatshesdoing One thing that helped with my anxiety about being the center of a social gathering was having a child at the party help me open gifts. Everyone was more focused on how cute it was to watch the kid pull out the gifts than on watching me.

This!! I make DS open all presents with me Not that he’s complaining! I hate being the center of attention.
@WorkinWeezel I agree and more so my point is I hope that small group stays home and doesn't come. we are excited to be hosting the superbowl and want to go to the differenr events but reading lota and lots of negative personal experiences from game there make me really hesitant to bring my daughter. I dont know if that makes sense. I have some good friends in philly so i know it isnt all. i dont just my feelings
@acunamatada I loathe being the center of attention. It is so embarrassing! I'm ok in a one on one setting or a really small group, or if it's fleeting like an encounter at the grocery store. But if is like more than 3 people, I can get all sweaty and want to cry, etc. And now of course hormones! Ugh! I do things in everyday life to push myself outside of my comfort zone, or to be in control of the situation or perceived/imaginary judgement (theater as a kid, pinup now), but again, those are fleeting things to me. Not a gathering of like 10+ people where the attention is on me.
@lindsayleigh1989 I can see why you'd be concerned. I'm staying home (even if it WAS in Philly) in the comfort of a friend's home on my lucky chair to watch the game with perfect views, surround sound, and the foods I want to eat that won't cost me a fortune I also think you'll see A LOT of anti-Pats fans, moreso than pro-Eagles fans, which could be an issue, too. But they need to respect the city that is hosting, even though we just beat their (your!) team
@noideawhatshesdoing - I agree on having your neice open gifts with you! Mine helped me and it definitely took a burden off. I didn't feel like I needed to be so "oooh, ahh, thank you for this thing that I had already picked out" or "Aww, thanks for the 5th copy of Goodnight Moon, which I don't even like".
Also - to all moms worried about not bonding yet - don't worry! Not all moms love being pregnant - in fact, lots don't. And many, many moms don't bond with their babies even when they're first born. I can't recall when I felt bonded to my daughter, but I'm positive it wasn't in the hospital with her. I never resented her, but didn't feel all-consuming love for awhile. The first time I felt it (even though I don't remember how old she was) I remember thinking "Oh, so THIS is why people say I'll eat you up I love you so"!
@smashjam It's really interesting they've added that to the brochures. It only talks about one cannabinoid; THC. There are over 80 cannaninoids in the plant. THC is best known for the high and euphoria. When talking to multiple doctors (OB, psychiatrist, primary care physician, veterinarian, etc), their studies are 95% on THC. CBD is a cannabinoid that is non-psycho active and offers more of the medicinal aspect of the plant. CBD is actually used for Drevet Syndrome (severe myoclonic epilepsy of infancy). CBD does not cross the placenta. It it used as an anti-inflammatory, used for depression, schizophrenia, spasms, etc. CBD is growing in studies, which is wonderful because of all the benefits. (see www.allbud.com for more information about different cannabinoids. Some text was used from this site). I can go on and give more sites if anyone wants more information. It makes me sad to know that most of the research is done on THC, which can have negative effects. Whereas, CBD and other cannabinoids don't.
@zombiehoohaa I do think its a shame that there is confusion between what can be theraputic and what cannot be. I think that is definitely part of the difference between some of the articles that are available out there, although its interesting its hard to find one discussing ALL the possible effects, from both sides. This one clearly talks about ingesting marijuana or smoking it, not CBD, do guess you have to consider all of the possible effects of the plant, not just the good ones.
@WorkinWeezel yeah I mean I don't know much about Brady as far as his personality, however when Jacksonville was ahead with the whole 4th to go I was like, yeah the Patriots will still win, even with Gronk out. Brady is Brady. The dude is a good QB and he's getting old...even Manning was showing signs of slowing down at the end and Brady is still a badass. Its annoying, lol.
@noideawhatshesdoing My best friend sounds just like you - she has major social anxiety about big gatherings and HATES being the center of attention. I'm not usually a fan of baby shower party games, but maybe you could ask your best friend to find some party games that wouldn't have you as the center of attention and would give people something to focus on. I actually had fun playing baby shower games at my cousin's wife's shower in spite of myself. We played hot potato while tossing around a baby doll, tried to identify unlabeled jars of baby food, and did a baby-themed word search. There were small prizes (nail polish) for the winners of each game. Or you could get her to organize some kind of craft that people can keep busy with rather than gathering around you, like decorating a set of building blocks.
ETA: I'm suggesting games because my friend always finds social occasions easier when there is some kind of organized group activity so that she doesn't have to spend as much time making conversation with people.
Update on the tooth situation--my gums are severely infected so she gave me some antibiotics to clear that up. And she referred me to an oral surgeon to do a consult to have one of my wisdom teeth removed. I am really nervous about this, but also know it needs to be done so it is what it is. Apparently this happens a lot during pregnancy (or at least that is what she told me....lol).

@beanship I love the idea of a craft! I'll have to suggest it!
Also, totally unrelated to anything else, but I feel the need to make a confession, I'm addicted to low budget sci fi movies and bad foreign tv. Especially Japanese doramas based on manga. Cheesier the better. I totally just watched an episode of Switch Girl during my lunch break at work. It was awesome.
Well my flu test was negative but the Dr. said that doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t have the flu. All I know is I feel AWFUL and it feels very familiar to when I had it in 2014. Either way I’m taking the next few days off work and not doing anything.

@sarafuss we have seen LOTS of false negatives from the rapid flu tests that are done in the ER or the dr's office. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes up positive when they send it to the lab. Either way, your plan sounds good. Take care of yourself!

You beat me to it. I was going to recommend the exact same thing!
@Sarafuss per our infection control department: the flu swab is only 60% accurate. They don’t send t out for further testing like they do a strep test. A more accurate test is a respiratory array- which I believe is testing sputum. However it isn’t done much as it costs $800.
