@ashbub714 my ultrasound tech also didn’t say anything other than the doctor would tell me my results at my next appt. but I looked while she was measuring and the measurements looked fine
@adventuresawait1 I found horizon chocolate milk that is fortified. Could I have gotten regular milk? Yes. But I wanted chocolate lol. I was excited and forgot to look for the eggs
@SmashJam from what I read on the internet, Omega 3 contains 3 things, ALA, DHA, and EPA. DHA can only be obtained from algae or fish. The omega 3 in flax is actually ALA. again, this is what the internet said so take it with a grain of salt.
My PNVs aren’t fishy. It’s actually the physical act of swallowing the pill that makes me gag. So the gummies and chewables are a better solution for me. But if it isn’t as important after 12 weeks I think I’ll be ok with the gummies and fortified foods.
Remember the lopsided uterus talk? I seriously noticed it happened to me today! It's not as pronounced but I swear it's there. Any other FTMs noticing it??
@kissableviv I’m STM but i never noticed it with my first till much later. Right now it’s more noticeable in the morning. Sometimes I’ll feel the bump right up against my belly button too.
@moguippy I also take the gummy prenatals. My doc didn’t have any concerns with the gummies, although he did mention that they typically don’t have the iron content that is recommended in the second and third trimesters. I’ll probably try to add an iron supplement soon. DD takes a liquid iron supplement so I may try to find an adult liquid version.
For the ladies having a hard time swallowing pills, Rainbow Light also makes a petite version of their prenatal. The pills are little but you have to take them more than once during the course of the day. I’m also not sure about DHA in them, but they should have the iron that the gummies don’t.
Anyone finding their blood pressure is dropping pretty significantly? I know BP drop during pregnancy is totally normal, but going from 118/ 76 (already lower than pre pregnancy) to 108/62 in a week and a half seems a little drastic. I know they'd say something if it was an issue, so I'm not too concerned, this just didn't happen with my son's pregnancy so it's new to me and made me curious to see if anyone else has experienced the same.
@d_marie_23 for me its always water intake that causes it (like, not enough). Today mine was like, 97/51 and they raised eyebrows a bit but they always say they don't care unless I've been dizzy or passing out. And then they hydrate me.
@d_marie_23 mine runs low on a good day and I had a ton of dizzy spells/near passing out episodes last pregnancy but as long as I keep up my water intake and don’t limit my salt I’m usually okay. My doc usually just asks if I’ve been dizzy etc but since I run low typically they aren’t usually too concerned (pass out threshold for me is usually 80s/40s lol)
Thanks for the reassurance, guys. Seriously. Definitely eased my mind. I had chalked the weak/ dizzy feeling up to just plain pregnancy, I'll just try to boost water intake (I didn't realize how much that impacted BP, but now I wouldn't be surprised if that's what triggered the big dip) and maybe add salt sparingly into my cooking since I never actually use it. Thanks so much, again, just good to hear from others who have experience with this.
