That sounds awful @kmalls hope everyone gets better soon.
Right now we are getting hit with ice and sleet before we get a few inches of snow. The snow doesn't bother me too much just wish ice wasn't happening that what makes it worse.
Ugh @kmalls, I’m still mentally recovering from our bout with it over thanksgiving. I really hope it moves through you guys quickly so you can all rest and recover over the weekend!

@beach_mama DD woke up from her nap yesterday afternoon covered in vomit (which was scary to see), but it passed really quickly. She was sick for maybe an hour after that and then perked right up.
I, on the other hand, woke up at midnight and was sick pretty much continuously until 9am this morning. Now I’m just laying in bed praying for this evil plague to go away!
I feel like it’s only a matter of time before DS and DH go down for the count.
Same with the toddler pickiness. I actually took him to a pediatric dietician a couple months ago because he's on the small side. He won't eat any healthy fats or protein. She wasn't worried though and said to just continue to offer healthy balanced meals. Also it has been helping to sit and eat with him (I am such a grazer so this has been an adjustment for me).
@lindsye@ladythrice on the video monitor topic - I have been debating on getting a 2nd or not. DS will be 3.5 when his brother gets here, but the baby will be in our room for a couple months probably. Do you think an almost 4 year old will need a video monitor still? We will be graduating him to a bed within the next month-ish so I'm not sure if he's going to be one to get up and wonder yet.
@sapphires-and-diamonds it totally depends on your kid. We really didn’t need one for DD1 at 4 but DD2 at 3.5 (now) is so mischievous in her bed that I think she’ll need a video monitor until 5. She will actually walk up to the thing, look right into it and make demands of us like it’s a prison or something. She also jumps on/off her bed and also sorts of other ridiculousness - she’s just a live wire and always has been. At least you have a bit of time to transition him to a bed and see how he does before you have to make a decision.

@kmalls Augh to being covered in vomit! DD1 woke up and threw up all over herself, her bed and her nightstand the other week. It is by far the most foul thing in the world. I am glad to hear it passed quickly for your DD. Sucks about you though. I hope you can get rehydrated asap and back to feeling normal (or as normal as you can feel while pregnant). And i pray no one else gets it in your house!! I'm always clouded in dread for a week after someone throws up.
@sapphires-and-diamonds my 3 year old *probably* doesn't need a monitor, it just helps us. He gets up and hides behind the chair in his room or in the corner instead of napping sometimes. Being able to see him and tell him to "get in bed" using the monitor is helpful.
We just bought our third monitor, but we'll hook up DS and DD1's camera on the same parent unit.

I wish I was working. I’m going crazy being stuck home all day. And getting lazy with the cold, wet weather. I’m having a bit of a debate with myself for work after he is born. As much as I loved working in auto body repair, it isn’t the healthiest environment. There also isn’t a real set time for work. If the vehicle isn’t ready come 5PM, you gotta stay until it is fully assembled for pickup the next morning. Or, you arrive early the next morning and hope you have it finished by the time the customer arrives. Another reason, as much as I love the work, I do not miss the blistering hot and cold days in a big shop. Working with metal makes it less fun. I’ve never been good with desk jobs and am really trying to stay out of the food service business(too many in the past). It’s going to be tough jumping back into the workforce. Been looking online for opportunities in the area. Just hope my sanity lasts. Haha
Hate reading about everyone being sick. Hopefully all will pass soon.
I have a monitor question - Do you guys keep an audio monitor for your older child? DS will be 2.5, but I still like having the audio so I can hear him. I'm on the fence with if I want to get another monitor system so that I keep one for DS.
@luna8433 good point! DS usually is the one to come wake us up on weekends. I irrationally like to turn the monitor up really loud and listen to him breathe at night
@peppersmith22 I guess it depends on the anxiety level. If it's going to stress you out not to hear the breathing get a second. My sister had huge anxiety over SIDS so I suggested an owlet monitor to help ease her anxiety.
@peppersmith22 we still use a monitor with our 3 year old! We'll probably keep it in his room for a while. It's one of those cameras that we can move to check and see if he's in bed, in the chair, asleep on the floor, etc lol.
