The fact that every time I turn on the news it seems they’ve increased the expected snowfall total for my area for tomorrow. We are at a foot plus for tomorrow, with the threat of coastal flooding (my town is on the ocean). The winter weather and stress of worrying about frozen pipes has already exhausted me and it’s only the first week of January.
So I just got out of a meeting and i'm very much saying WTF right now, sorry this could get long. So back in July there was some movement within our office. Well the lazy co-worker got bumped out of her job and moved to a different job doing something she didn't want to do. So with her attitude and her saying she won't do the work. )Which the person she bumped did a lot of things with that so none of us would be able to get it to that standard but the rest of us would have put in some kind of effort.) Our boss said not to worry about doing it. Well Lazy co-worker just complains that she has nothing to do now and that she is bored, to me it's her own fault because the work she should be doing would keep her pretty busy if she tried. Well our boss tried to do some reorganizing with some of our work. Well the meeting we just had our boss went over what things we would be doing, ALL of it I already do just tiny little amounts will be going to lazy co-worker now. The real kicker is some of it is VERY similar to the crap she refused to do when moved to her new job. So i'm just like WTF, why do I have to be dragged into this. Sure there are times I have some real slow times but I feel I have a good amount of stuff to do to keep me busy plus a lot of people like to come to me cause they know I will get the job done. So i'm really irritated right now.
@frenchiekinplusone I hear ya! I think we're on the like between just under a foot and just over a foot. We're usually a gray area that gets dumped on or not much. The pipes is such a frustrating thing. All our friends who are plumbers have been having to work alot of extra hours around here, such a pain! Hopefully the flooding doesn't happen for you and the pipes stay warm! I'll be home tomorrow thankfully, not taking my chances with the MBTA!
Here's a huge WTF to my heater which isn't working. I know it's really cold out so I'm not overly surprised but damn. I am just happy the girls went to daycare/school and i don't have a newborn yet.
Also a WTF goes to my gas fireplace and oven - neither of which are performing well no doubt to the cold as well. This house is only 6 or 7 years old!
I am thankful that someone will be here to check the heat within the next hour...so I've got that going for me.
5:30 this morning the hotel alarm goes off and we have to exit the building. Our room is on the 18th floor. We get out of the building and then we are told it's a false alarm. Now I can't go back to sleep. BTW it's our first night of our baby moon and I was planning on sleeping in since we don't have our 2 yo wirh us.
@angiek1 another co-worker will do some of my stuff, at least the stuff that is needed daily/weekly. Which funny story Lazy co-worker did it last time I was one leave. I spent 6 months training her on how to do it and she screwed it all up while I was gone. So I refused to have her do it this time around and she is quite pissed because she is sooooo bored and thought it would give her stuff to do, but she complained and hated every second of our training last time.
@Dumbgurl04 It may be time for you to have a one on one with your boss. It seems like you are being taken advantage of because you are a good worker and that's not fair. She should be lucky to have a job at all if there was restructuring. If she doesn't like the work she is being asked to do then she should find a different job!
@luna8433 I'd be so pissed! Sorry they ruined your ability to sleep in today.
My WTF are all these sicklings around me today. I work at a doctor's office so I expect the patients to be sick but even the doctors I work with are coming in sick today! I'm hiding in my office and when I do go out into the public areas I am wearing a face mask... keep your germs away from me people.
@JJMNO1616 I did just send my boss a nice little email saying how it's kind of shitty that I have to be dragged down with her, even though it's her own fault she is in the position she is in with having no work to do. I share a room with three other ladies, two of us do work and try to take on extra stuff the other two are lazy and refuse to do extra things that they don't like. They just did a voluntary separation with management throughout the company and are probably going to do some involuntary separations now with management only. Since we are all union and our boss doesn't know if they will try to do one of those with union employees he wants to make sure that it shows our positions are necessary. Which is great but it kind of sucks for me and the other lady that actually do work and want to work because we are the ones losing some of our work to the two lazy workers.
Also I hope the germs stay away from you, I hate when co-workers come to work sick and then don't make an effort to keep their germs away from others.
My WTF is to my stupid student loan. I have only one left that is a variable rate and it keeps going up. It was around 2% and now it's up to 3.5%. Which is still lower than what I would get if I refinanced it.

omgfreakinggod YAS! I just got another message from my private student loan company this morning that they are raising my rates AGAIN. I have all of my private loans with AES at this point and they have raised my rate every two months for the past year. It's getting ridiculous. My highest rate right now is almost at 5%! I am doing everything I can to pay these loans down right now and I am hoping that when my husband gets his bonus in April we can pay a big chunk of them off.

Mine is with AES too! I had another one with them, but refinanced it to SoFi. I left this last one because the rate is still low enough. But it pisses me off that it keeps rising.
@sparklingdiamond I only owe $1,600 on the one that is at almost 5%. The other 3 loans I have with AES are under 4.5% and one of them I only owe $60 lol. When I first started paying these loans back most of them were in the 2% low 3% range though which is really frustrating. I would consider refinancing them if they got any higher but it seems kind of pointless at this point. I'd rather not take the hit on my credit for opening a new account.
@sparklingdiamond I feel you girl. I am intensely afraid of needles (in everything else I am fearless. Heights, snakes, spiders, small spaces...bring it on). If I ever had to get a amnio, I would probably puke and pass out on the table. Anyone who goes through it with grace and dignity is my hero.
I also have AES for my loans, and noticed after like 10 years, they started raising the interest rates! To help us out, from May-Nov, my mom and her husband were paying it (more than minimum payment), so my last payment was $110, now this next payment is like $150 something?? WTF?
@sparklingdiamond my coworker told me about SoFi yesterday and how they really like it. Are they a lot better? Not necessarily going to refinance my school loans, but we have to take out a pretty large loan to pay off debts from when I lost my job, and to be able to survive the first few months after baby is born.
@psuxray07 I refinanced with SoFI last year too. I thought they made the process simple and painless. I tried with two other companies before giving up and trying sofi. I just wanted to make 1 student loan payment instead of the 6 I was making before. I chose a fixed rate.
@ekendall09 do they seem to have better rates than say, maybe your own bank or credit union? We just paid off a 4 year loan from our credit union, and H thinks the % was maybe 8..we don't remember. But yeah, we have like 50 bajillion payments between credit cards and stuff, it's so much nicer to have one payment that is less than all of them Combined.
@ekendall09@psuxray07 I had a really weird experience with Sofi. I kept getting these pre-approval letters in the mail from them so I tired to refinance about $14,000 worth of loans with Sofi a few years ago. But they ended up denying me?! So much for being "pre-approved". The weirder part is I had an 800 credit score at the time... However, my income to debt ratio was horrible (as I'm sure it is for most people with a lot of student loans?). So idk what their deal was but it is definitely their loss because I ended up refinancing with Citi bank and I have already paid that loan off!
@psuxray07 I think they had good rates. It depends on what terms you pick. (5, 7, 10, 15 year etc) and variable or fixed rate. Here's a referral link, its big on the social side hence the name but also credits you a welcome bonus if you wanted to go with them which doesn't hurt: sofi.com/share/384675
@JJMNO1616@sparklingdiamond I also have a student loan with AES and funny enough, I just got my monthly email from them that my rate increased again. They have increased it around the 1st of every month like clockwork pretty much since this loan moved over to them about a year or 2 ago. It started out at just like .01% every month and now it’s more like .1 or .2 every time. I started below 3% and now we are creeping towards 5%. It’s thankfully my smallest loan (under 2k) but it’s driving me INSANE.
@frenchiekinplusone Yep, exactly the same situation. I have had these loans with AES from the beginning and they all date back to my first few years of undergrad (2005-2007ish). For the first few years I don't recall the interest moving much at all but I would say over the past two years they have gone up every 2 months.
@sparklingdiamond student loans are dumb! But your variable % rates sounds really good! I have a few on the high side and I can't remember why the vary so much because I have some that are really low too.
WTF Fedex man! I saw the truck roll up into our driveway and I waited for the doorbell to ring while playing with DD. Not only did he not ring the door but he laid the 90 pound cardboard box package across our steps and into the driveway (he put it at our side door) I clearly can't pick it up and I live in Michigan. So not only is it freezing outside it hasn't stopped snowing in what feels like weeks. I was hoping he would come up to the door and I could have him just put it inside right by the door but NOPE. I went outside and taped garbage bags on top of it hoping it wouldn't deteriorate too much in the snow before DH gets home. I know it's first world problems but it has made me terribly grouchy this afternoon.
My highest interest rate is actually my damn government loans, which I can't refinance unless I do a private loan (which I don't want to do). It's almost 7% which is just ridiculous.
Sigh, new boss made a wtf comment to me today...."colleagues won't be surprised to learn you are knocked up after wearing that sweater." Ummm, what? I planned to officially announce next week to my new colleagues during a retreat planned next week. Yes, I can no longer hide that I'm pregnant, but I shouldn't have to hide from everyone all day....and my sweater is more than workplace appropriate. Sigh, so much for an understanding and professional boss....never thought I'd hear "knocked up" coming from an older, professionally trained woman. I responded that next week seemed to be the best opportunity to bring everyone up to speed and walked out of the room. WTF

Yep! Me too but I just try to pretend those don't exist and the interest rate doesn't matter because I am working towards the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. If the unfortunate scenario arises where they get rid of that program I will worry (freak out and want to die) about it then.

Also same. I think my highest is 6.8% ish from Navient (formerly Sallie Mae). I have like 5 loans there that are consolidated to 2 payments but each still has its own rate and there are a couple in that 6% range - of course they are the highest balances. I cannot wait to have them paid off. Should be by this time in 2020 but hopefully sooner.
@sparklingdiamond@JJMNO1616 I only have federal loans which I haven't re-fi'd so I was amazed at these low interest rates! All student loans and interest payments suck @ss but I'd take 4% over my 7.5% any day.
@mountainsmama right? My WTF is why are my fed loan rates so high haha I did defer them for like 6 years with grad school but damn I’d love to have that money every month $$$
@JJMNO1616 - yes to the WTF sickies! I’m in a skilled nursing unit, and since last Friday, our 2 part time ARNPs have been coughing and hacking 2 doors away from me. One said at her other clinic ‘everyone has influenza A’. She at least put a mask on at some point in the day. The really stupid one left work early all 3 days since Friday! Bitch didn’t wear a mask until today when she was doing rounds with the medical director of our unit. Seriously - you know you shouldn’t be here getting patients sick, come on!

Ditto! I only have those too and mine are 6.5%...maybe I should look into refinancing!
My WTF goes to my daycare... So DS went to daycare yesterday so DH could be with me in the hospital - After I got discharged we went to pick up DS from daycare and the daycare teacher was like "didn't you get our message?". DS had a 101.4 degree fever but he never really woke back up from nap (they nap at 12:30 and this was after 4PM)! They had just left a message on my workphone, they didn't call my cell or DH at all. I was very irritated. We gave him Tylenol right away and ended up running him to the late hours with the pediatrician. They said he might have the flu since when we got there his temp was 102.7. We are just not having a good week. Fingers crossed that he's fine today while he's home with DH and there's no flu in our house!
@peppersmith22 Oh my.. I'm really sorry because that should not have happened, especially since he never really woke back up from his nap. I feel like they should have called all possible numbers. Praying your DS is doing okay today and everyone else stays healthy! Sounds like you all have had a lot to deal with this week.. hoping everything settles down and you can rest after your hospital visit.
@peppersmith22 ugh that would infuriate me. I'm sorry you had to deal with that on top of your bleeding scare/hospital stay. Hope he's feeling better today and his fever is down!
