Yet another Ramzi thread has popped up.

  • @hardlyhannah @juliebird6 I just ran out of bagels for like, the 2nd time in 10 days because I can't stop eating them! Luckily I made coffee cake so I've been subbing that for a few days but not the same. Tomorrow the budget starts over I can go to the store again, lol.
  • My craving is veggies and ranch. We have some in the caf at work, but the carrots look old.
  • @kcdo1010 that’s a super cute ergo! Exciting deals!!

@juliebird6 and @SmashJam I couldn’t wait. I have dough rising right now. I’ll share pictures with the final result! I’m really pretty excited.

  • @kcdo1010 Awesome deals on both!! Can't hurt to have more than one rnp.  We literally have one for every floor of our house so we didn't have to carry it around with us.  Talk about lazy!

@hardlyhannah omggggg jealous of your motivation to make them yourself! I hope they turn out amazing!!
  • @kcdo1010 that is so cute! I already have one, but I’m still jealous

And now I want a bagel. I have no bagels :(

  • @mrsbubbles-2 I'm also lurking because I'm afraid to get a warning!  But also, I love what you're saving up for.  I hope we get to see that.
  • Getting my Panorama test blood draw in 30 minutes and of course now I am psyching myself out that it will be too early and inconclusive. The test can be done as early as 9 weeks, and I am 9 weeks today based on ovulation and dating ultrasound, or 9w2d based on LMP (never as accurate for me because I ovulate late). The next appointment they had for a blood draw wasn't for another week so I figured better to just do it now but I'm just hoping it will have enough fetal DNA!

  • I had a normal RnP last time but definitely want the self rocking one this time!!

  • @ecwk The auto-rock is a MUST have for night time. Worth every penny.  That contraption was sent straight from heaven.
  • @alinafed OMG YAY!!! That is so exciting! We should start one of those “I’m just here for the sex” threads. I imagine plenty of ladies will be finding out soon!

We loved the self rocking RnP, we need a new one because our rocking mechanism broke. I told DH we’re getting 3 just in case the same thing happens this time.  :D

  • What awesome deals! Loved my RnP, it was an absolute lifesaver.  And I wore DD2 so much when she was born, it's a must-have!

  • @alinafed is your ob or mfm doing the blood draw?

  • @ecwk same! I’m not even sure where our RNP is, and I really want the self rocking one. I’m watching for deals

I also need to re-buy our swing, as I loved it, but my DD broke it
  • Someone tell me about this rnp. How long do you use it? Is it like a swing?

  • @meeks2020 it's a freestanding little thing that has a small incline and the baby just lays in there.  Wonderful for babies with reflux.  Or, any baby at all.  We used ours for naps during the day while DD was tiny and could nap in the living room while I was on leave.  She also slept in one at night next to our bed (this was a must have because of her reflux).  We literally used it until she rolled over on her belly and tried to climb out of it.  It was a sad day when we had to put it away.
  • @juliebird6 I had read they weren't a good idea for nighttime sleep due to sids, is that right or outdated?

  • @meeks2020  there is danger in using them for sleep because of the angle. The baby can slump over and block airways so if you do use it for sleep keep a close eye on the baby.

We used it for DS until about 6mo and the. We coslept. He was always in eyesight when in the RnP because we were paranoid first timers

  • @meeks2020 I think there is a risk of SIDS with literally every baby sleeping gadget you can find.  We have a halo bassinet that I *really* wanted to use and love, but it just didn't work for us for DD.  The RnP was the only thing she could sleep in because of her reflux.  I know several other STM+ whose kids have slept in RnPs, but obviously you can only do what you are comfortable with.
  • @hardlyhannah thanks for posting that recipe those bagels look AMAZING and so much better than the ones I made last time around! I am going to make them tomorrow!
  • @hardlyhannah Those look great - I've never had a homemade bagel before! I might need to try that sometime soon. :)
  • @hardlyhannah those look amazing!!!!
  • @lalala2004 and @meeks2020 I just bought a box of Frosted Flakes and I am SO PUMPED!

Not a fan. They taste good, but get soggy way too quickly.

  • Bagels look great! I’m a huge fan and always have so me from the local food place in my freezer (pre cut so easy to toast!)

reminds me of my youngest oregnancy when I made homemade pretzels COUNTLESS times! Yummmmm

this morning I was desperate for a bowl of special k with whole milk. Which I don’t have. I think I am hungry but sick in the mornings, and while I need to eat I can’t. So it probably seemed like a nice light option.

of course it’s cold as balls and kids are out of school so trekking to the store just for that seems really unappealing

  • @meeks2020 I'm with @juliebird6 on the sleeping thing. My son had reflex and the only way he could sleep for the first 6 months was in a motion-less swing.
@pghctwife I need to learn to make soft pretzels, recipe recommendations?

  • I'm all too familiar with reflux  :D ds has had surgery for it and still suffers a LOT from it

  • @kindbytealikat I used Alton browns recipe! They were awesome. Maybe I know what I’m doing today... hmmmm with my u/s yesterday I had ZERO planned for today and this weekend (excepting nye), so I’m kinda wide open now. I did Xmas gift crafts with all 3 kids already and since I’m happy I have energy lol.

I make the pretzels 1/2 the size. They freeze great! I found that putting a frozen one in a little sandwich bag in the microwave for like 30 sec worked to keep it soft to reheat. They were great for my anti-sweets pregnancy snacks. I didn’t have pretzel salt and used sea salt I think? Kosher would work too just be careful not to overdo it since it’s finer.

good with butter brushed on top and then cinnamon sugar!

kinda messy with the boiling baking soda water though.

  • @hardlyhannah good luck! keep us posted on how it goes!
  • For me the first ultrasound was crucial to making my pregnancy "real". I was too apprehensive to do any kind of planning, or even much acknowledgement of my pregnancy before I got to see a heartbeat and a sac. The ultrasound can be a bit nerve wracking, but the result was that I had a ton of anxiety lifted, and could start to enjoy the process. Good luck!

This is my life. I feel like my family is more excited than I am right now because I don’t have proof. I’ll feel much better (hopefully) after seeing that baby beat.
