I don’t know how ready I am to announce my pregnancy yet but I don’t see too much of a way around it seeing as how we will be around family on Christmas Eve and Christmas and I feel god awful. Like I just can’t pretend to be ok when I feel this sick and tired, plus I’m barely eating. Idk how it’s all going to play out.
@LC12261012 could you say that you’ve got the flu or something like that? It’s going around here like wildfire so it would be pretty believable. So sorry you’re feeling so rough, I hope it passes soon!
Sick. In bed. SO just flew in last night. Took all my energy to go get him. Got home around 2am. I couldn’t sleep. Just so sick. This morning. He woke up early. Got the girls ready and took them all to town. The house is so quiet. I miss him so much. But I am so sick. I have to get better. I keep getting small, mild fevers. 100 or less. Just makes me worry. I cried last night. Begged God to keep baby safe from my germs. I wish I had another week to get well before Christmas.
And this is maybe a FFFc but I’m too tired to change threads. The last few boxes arrived yesterday and I just wrote names on the boxes and tossed them under the tree. Just too tired. Can’t do it. The snot. The coughing. The sore throat.
Why do we have weekend randoms? Just curious. I go reading the weekly randoms, then need to come to the weekend randoms to continue the conversation...
Add me to the list of not eating, nothing sounds good, and nauseous all effing day. With my first pregnancy I had zero nausea. I was so lucky. It was such an easy pregnancy, now I'm fearing this will be the hardest ever! My son isn't even 1.5 so I feel like I'm neglecting him too. He is SO active and curious right now and I'm sitting with him on the couch while he watches Baby Einstein. I feel like the world's worst mom. TV and babies just isn't my thing. It has it's place but I don't think this is it's place
We did the "Skype a doctor" thing on Amwell last night because DS has a fever and I'm pretty sure an ear infection. It was definitely worth the $60 to not have to go sit in a flu infested urgent care.
Also DS told my husband's aunt, cousin and his wife that I was pregnant today and we haven't even told my family. I'm kinda irritated.
Well, tonight we announce to DH's side of the family. They are hosting a pre-Christmas Eve dinner and my nerves are a bit on edge, although I have no idea why.
On the flip side, we have all gifts purchased and wrapped! I'm so happy I did it a little at a time this year. Last year, we waited until the last minute and it was freaking exhausting.
@dirtanddiamonds I am so sorry you are sick and hope you feel better soon and can enjoy Christmas! I am having a big pity party for myself being sick in Hawaii, I feel so guilty for not wanting to do anything with DH but I really just want to be at home and have my mom come over to take care of me!

@lalala2004 Lol yes, they're supposed to start on Saturdays. That was one of the least full days with other threads. It's been really hard trying to get this all worked out coherently with so many people on the board! The board organization thread was updated with the new threads.
@dirtanddiamonds I'm finally over it after two weeks and I'm so sorry girl, it truly is hellish feeling so miserable and snotty.
I totally am neglecting stimulating my 14 month olds intellectual needs as well due to feeling like poop so your not alone @coffeecocktailsandcake we will make up for it once this passes so for now let's just do the best we can, sometimes that is popping on the baby Einstein's.
Hope you feel better too @legallykate and can get better enough to enjoy the last leg of your vacay.
@jsnakehole squeezing lemon in my ginger ale is heavenly and if you have nausea it works great too.
@coffeecocktailsandcake it's all about survival. DS has been watching his share of Netflix too and I do feel somewhat guilty, I also know he needs a mom who is somewhat rested and not burned out.
Flew transatlantic tic last night and we had an aisle and window seat. DS is a lap child still. Lady in between us was an obnoxious c**t and caused quite the scene about it all because she didn't want to swap with me and sit at the window. She wras such a douche canoe that they kicked her off the flight!!!! And it took foreverrrrr to get her bag off too so we had a fairly long delay.
My whole family were together this morning so we told them our news and they're delighted!
@ecwk Ugh, I’m sorry that lady was such a PITA. Flying with kids can be exhausting enough. Let alone add in a gem like her. But at least you didn’t have to sit with her the whole flight right ?
@ecwk seriously? That's awful! I thought most people hated to be in the middle anyways. So odd that she pitched a fit over it. Hope the rest of your flight was fine. Is it creepy of me to ask where you flew to?
I got $200 worth of Amazon gift cards from my students. I'm going to hoard all of them (and the inevitable ones I'll get in June) for diapers once the baby comes. That should get us through the first month or two (if a 240 pack is $45, and we buy 4 of those, and assume the baby will go through about 10 diapers a day (and we don't have a Colmid-induced set of multiples).
I remember last year, when I spent all of my gift cards at Sephora and Banana Republic.

@ecwk I am so sorry you had to deal with that! What a nightmare, so glad they kicked her off and you didn’t have to deal with her the whole flight! Since she was kicked off did you guys have the whole row to yourselves?!?
@offtoneverland thanks for starting the weekly threads! I’ll getting caught up now, are we supposed to post in the thread on our ticker change day or just update through the week? You rock for getting all this going!
@mrs_drc_rn nooooo! I hope you get your mashed potatoes soon!
@mrsbubbles-2 You can just post in the thread throughout the week. I'm sorry if I didn't explain it well, there seems to be a lot of confusion about this. The DD threads aren't related at all to ticker changes, just due dates. I'll bump up the poll thread later to clarify that so no one is confused. Hope that makes sense.
I know I know... but man I find these randoms threads (symptoms too) so frustrating. Too many things jumbled together and my tired brain just can’t remenver all the things to reply to, so I end up not at all. I’m impressed how you guys all manage to reply and tag 10 different people and different items in one post lol.
to whomever asked, I’m so glad to break up the randoms threads. I’d kinda rather avdaily thread to keep it manageable. Once it’s more than a page or so long I just can’t.
Im waiting for week 2 to get posted and my pgal brain doesn’t want to volunteer to start it because... superstitious I guess.
@pghctwife I like the idea of shorter randoms threads. Maybe once it hits 2 or 3 pages if someone wanted to kick off a new one for the rest of the week? That way if there’s an ongoing conversation in the original it can keep going there but new convos could be started in the new thread? Idk, I’m good either way!
@mrsbubbles-2@pghctwife I'm good with starting a new randoms thread after it hits 2 pages or so, but I personally don't like the idea of having multiple randoms threads going at the same time. I think it works best to keep things organized so I think it would be confusing if people kept two threads going instead of just moving to the new one.
@lakesideknitter I apologize if you posted and I missed it, how is your mom doing?
She's doing well, thank you for asking! They are thinking it was stress-related and have adjusted her meds accordingly. Fingers crossed that solves the issue!

Not PGAL but also tentative to take the lead so early on! I’m also stuck on mobile until we get back home tomorrow so it seems daunting to try to create a post. I can take the lead on future Saturdays though if no one else steps up.

Me personally, for now, I like having a weekly randoms that lasts all week. In my last bmb we didn't change to daily threads until weekly randoms got to like, 1k comments. Our board was really active though, this one doesn't seem nearly as busy. Cluttering up the board with a new daily randoms right now isn't my thing. I don't log into the bump daily, so if I'm reading an old randoms I don't post or reply to it since it's old, I just take up whatever conversation is going on in the new randoms.
Merry Christmas everyone! See you all back in a few days!!
Hard pass on multiple daily random threads. That would be crazy insane to manage.
There's not going to be one way to make everyone happy but 1 weekly random thread is probably the most "middle ground" way to keep it from getting chaotic.
Some people can get on here more than others. It happens. I check in every day but I can't comment on every thread or remember to tag everyone. I just do what I can to support others and make myself part of the community.
I don't think there's one set way we can accommodate everyone.
I believe our board is not as active because we seem primarily made up if STM +
My previous BMB was primarily FTM (myself included) and we frequently peppered the STM+ with questions and other chitter chatter while we slugged through our pregnancy waiting for our bundles to arrive.
Also, our announcement last night to DH's family went well! We also found out that one of his cousins is also pregnant with her first and due in July. It was a pretty exciting and happy moment for all of us.
has anyone checked out the 3D view of "baby" on TB app? It's actually pretty cool, you can rotate around and zoom in and see a week by week image in detail!
@ecwk I didn't see that feature until you pointed it out. It's amazing! It totally made me cry. I think it's technically Christmas day in Ireland so merry Christmas to you! I agree with @msmonalisavito and @coffeecocktailsandcake about the randoms threads. People keep bumping up the Thursday UO and FFFC as it is so it would be crazy trying to manage so many randoms threads with people posting on all of them trying to keep up conversations.
