Re: Weekly Randoms W/O 12/17

  • @boymom4eva I don’t have any additional advice to what’s already been given, but life is messy, shit happens, and although this isn’t an ideal situation for you, I’m hopeful that you can look back on this time and this baby as a joyous thing and the stress will only be a memory. As opposed to causing more upheaval in your son’s lives, maybe this will act as a positive distraction?

^ I agree. And perhaps your boys seeing mommy happy and in a positive and loving relationship will be uplifting.
As for your parents, deep breaths. They love you and it sounds like they are wonderful people who love you and those kids more than anything. It may take some time, but I’m sure they will be supportive and love this baby so much.
  • @lakesideknitter i just saw the post on your mom. Thinking of you!

@boymom4eva I don’t have any advice, but it seems like you’ve been making good decisions this year and you have good support in your parents
  • @lakesideknitter YAY!!! Fantastic update! So happy she will be home  <3

  • @lakesideknitter What great news! So glad she get to come home so soon. Hopefully the med adjustment will help.
  • @boymom4eva I don’t really have much to add, other than it sounds like you have wonderful parents and I would just be upfront with them early on. I’m sending you lots of positive vibes and hope everything works out for the best.

@lakesideknitter so happy to hear she’s coming home! Hopefully adjusting her meds will prevent any future seizures.
  • Am I the only night owl this time?

Surely we have some mom’s who can’t sleep... :!
  • *raises hand*
Sleep is for the... Sigh. Yeah, I'm jealous of everyone who's sleeping right now. DD is on wakeup number 3, DH is snoring up a storm. If he didn't have to be at work at 5, I'd toss some pillows at him. Or let DD pinch his nose to wake him up  :D
  • @boymom4eva nothing really to add! I agree with everyone, you're very brace to have done what you did and it sounds like your parents will be a wonderful support!! You absolutely will be ok!!

    @lakesideknitter hooray for good news!!!!

  • @lakesideknitter I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better!

DH and I are having a holiday party tonight. I'm working on the playlist before work. I'm wondering how many versions of the Hanukkah Song by Adam Sandler is too many, and also what is the legal minimum amount of Michael Buble you have to include on a holiday playlist.

  • @lakesideknitter So happy to hear your mom is coming home! FX you can get the meds sorted out and this is a one-time incident. Hopefully you can all relax and enjoy the holidays together.

@boymom4eva I hope you're able to talk to your parents about it and have a positive conversation with them. I'm sure if you open up about all of the things that you're feeling, it will help them to open up as well. It might be hard at first, but it sounds like they are caring and supportive people, so I'm sure they will continue to be there for you. And, we'll all be here for you to as a sounding board and a place to vent! Hugs!

@lakesideknitter I’m glad your mom is doing better. She has been in my prayers.

I'm not having the best pregnancy day. Just lazy and not wanting to get off the couch. I feel like I’m neglecting my son.

I don't remember being this nauseous in my last pregnancy. I’m hungry and made a whole plate of leftovers, but only took three bites because I couldn’t stomach it.

I figured, well, at least I’ll take my PNV. Then I proceeded to drop the bottle and the pills scattered everywhere. DS takes this noise quite personally. Once he calmed down he actually helped me pick them up, which was sweet, but I had to watch him closely to make sure he didn’t eat one. I hope I found them all, because I really don’t want him finding one and eating it.

I forced down some yogurt, which really wasn’t appetizing either, but at least I didn’t gag on it. I *almost* wish I would just throw up, because maybe then I would feel better? I just never vomit. It’s like I don’t know how.

  • ^^^ I hate throwing up but I’ve thrown up several times this pregnancy and it does make me feel better, and afterwards I always wonder why I fought it so much. I also feel like I’m neglecting my toddler, so you’re not alone there. I’m totally sucking at eating healthy and I really hope my prenatal is picking up the slack and that mostly healthy eating before pregnancy and at the beginning before all day sickness kicked in counts for something too.
  • I have a major case of zero fucks given at work today. I'm sitting at my desk knitting and watching Gilmore Girls on my phone. It's almost cruel to have to work the Friday before a holiday weekend.

  • @boymom4eva Don't worry, you've got this! It's just like you said, you don't realize how strong you are until you have to be. It seems like you have a great support system in both your parents and your BF. You are going to be just fine.

@lakesideknitter I'm glad to hear you mom is doing better!

Noooo, why is it so far away?
  • @junabugtunabug I guess their office is slammed right now. My PGAL brain is probably not going to handle the long wait that well.  :/

  • @offtoneverland oh man, I'm sorry. I know they get slammed this time of year. I could not imagine waiting that long. I was hesitant to cancel my post MC appointment (it happened in November, they scheduled it for Janurary, wtf?) Because I didn't want them to push it back.

Do you like the practice you're with? I actually am using a different one than my previous pregnancy.... you could always change doctors and see if you can get in sooner.
  • @offtoneverland I’m so sorry they’re making you wait so long!

  • @offtoneverland my PGAL brain is anxious for you. I’m so sorry. That just really sucks.

My SO flies in tonight. Praying for no delays. He’s a commercial superintendent. Working out of town. Comes home every two weeks for four days. And I am just a ball of nerves because I have to drive to the city tonight to get him. And I hate holiday traffic. And I have a stupid cold. And I miss him and want to jump his bones. Such internal conflict.  :D

    Okay. Done ranting. Sorry.
  • @offtoneverland Oh man that wait sucks! Is there any way you can call them and ask to be put on a waiting list in case someone cancels?

Today was the last day of school before the break. I'm so excited. Except we are driving to New orleans on Sunday to spend Xmas with my parents and I'm not too excited about that.  My brothers won't be there, so it'll feel really empty and boring without them around... My parents are nice, but I really like seeing my siblings cuz i don't see them often throughout the year.
  • @junabugtunabug I do love the OB and have been going to that office for years so I don't really want to switch. If the wait makes me anxious maybe I can call to see if they'll get me in earlier.
@dirtanddiamonds I hope YH arrives home safely! GL driving in the city with a cold. That doesn't sound fun at all.
@hezzer78 I think I can request to be put on the wait list through their website. I'll try it and see! How long of a drive is it to New Orleans? I've always wanted to go there just to eat beignets. :D Hope you have a safe drive and enjoy the visit even without your siblings.

Ugh that sucks. Is there anyway you can call back and offer to come in any time of day, maybe they could have had a cancellation? My original first appointment was farther out than I would have liked because I requested a morning appointment, I called back and asked if they had anything sooner any time of day and got it moved up 10 days.
