My 2 year old DD had a dentist appointment this morning, and we found out that one of her teeth needs pulled. I’m a little bummed because it’s at the front of her mouth and she’ll be without a tooth there for like 6 years, but it hurts her right now so I’m glad that she won’t be in pain anymore. And that her adult tooth should be normal.
@hillbillywife oh my, good luck! How do they go about extracting with a toddler? I still haven't taken my DS to his first dentist appt, I'm afraid he wouldnt sit long enough- or worse, bite the poor dentist..

My kid is a total handful. Like literally never sits still. He’s been twice now and did awesome both times. I was shocked. He even sat still for x rays! And if yo go to a kid’s dentist, they are ready for anything.
Ahhh you guys just reminded me, I have to make a dentist appointment for my son. I keep procrastinating on that. He flips out when the doctor just tries to look inside his mouth, can't imagine what he'll do at the dentist.
I am so torn regarding where to have this baby and what group to use. I thought I had made a decision to use a free standing birth center/midwives, but just heard A bad review about them (all the prior reviews I read were great but the one bad review was a personal review from a neighbor). The only place by me that does home birth makes you pay a huge portion up front before they even bill insurance and I can't afford that. I really want to avoid a hospital this time. I'm bummed about this negative review of the birth center. Why does it have to be so expensive to give birth??
@hillbillywife can I ask why they need to pull it? You can ignore me if you'd rather not share. Just curious because we haven't taken my 2 yo to the dentist yet and I am not sure what kind of problems to look out for. He has been complaining about his teeth the last few weeks, but I think it is just his molars finally coming in.
@acunamatada@amylu914 we have a pediatric dentist so like someone said above ^^ they’re prepared for everything. DD is a rockstar and opens her mouth really well and sits still really well, DS is a different story completely! He’s better now that he’s almost 6, but they really can handle any behavior! They said they hope that they’ll be able to just use laughing gas on DD and numb her up really well. If not they have medication they can give her that makes her sleepy but not fall asleep. She has to have it out ** because she has a malformation of her tooth. I noticed a long time ago that the tooth had turned pink and then over time it’s turned gray and recently part of it fell apart and it’s been bothering her. Turns out the because of the malformation she was more susceptible to a cavity and that tooth and it’s abcessed (so she’s on antibiotics too). The malformation also makes it less likely to be treated without being pulled.
**TLDR; DD’s tooth is in rough shape from something out of our control and now it’s infected and needs out**
@hillbillywife your poor DD! That sounds like no fun even for an adult. Hopefully the laughing gas works and she feels no pain and you get some funny stories from her loopy-ness.
@hillbillywife aww poor kiddo! I've had a lot of dental work, beginning at a very young age, and a lot of it was due to genetics/how my teeth were naturally formed. I hope it all goes well for her.
Hope everything goes well with your DD’s procedure @hillbillywife !
That reminds me that I need to schedule my kids for dental checks next month. It will be my youngest first one!
Tomorrow is my DS’s 3rd birthday, so I’m trying to deep clean, decorate, and make cupcakes today. My mom is coming to visit so the cleaning step is a necessity.
I quit my job last week. My official final day is Tuesday, Nov 21. I was really excited but now my crazy anxiety brain is like, "What have you done?!?!?!? How on earth will you be able to stay home Every. Day. And not go insane????!"
I'm also just getting over a stomach virus so I already don't feel 100%, which I'm sure is contributing to these feelings.
Oh my goodness @TalesOfASocialIntrovert you're still in the thick of infant-hood. I won't tell you to nap when the baby naps because I know how unrealistic that is.
okay for real where are you @christycalifornia ? I know we are only like two weeks into this board but you have been a mainstay for us and I miss your posts today!
So I had Chinese food for dinner...this baby apparently loves it! This was my fortune, I found it quite comforting. I have been having some serious anxiety over this pregnancy for no reason. My first pregnancy was amazing and have no reason to worry about the little bean inside me, but for some reason ever since having DS I get anxiety over things I can't control! This was a little reminder that I have to enjoy today and the crazy hormones this LO is giving me!
@amylu914 You are too funny. And sweet. I feel loved. I spent my morning being a negligent mother, and the rest of my day making up for it. So I'm just catching up now before I start dinner. O, the fabulous life of me!
My H is trying to tell me that Robin Williams is better in Fern Gully than he was in Aladdin. I almost disagree with him so much I want to throat punch him. Probably the hormones.
@swizz09 I'm sure I disagree with your DH also. But now I need to watch Fern Gully because I haven't watched it since I was a kid. I think I have it on VHS somewhere...lol

No worries! It’s on Netflix if you have that! If you don’t, then guess it’s time to bust out the VHS!
