This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Re: IF Testing and Treatment - week of 11/13
Sorry to start this again for the second week in a row, but being GMT-1 and having early morning RE appointments the last two Monday's is driving this.
Good luck to all those having more tests this week, waiting for results, having procedures and betas!
Diagnosis (If you've been): DOR and RA
Cycle/CD: 31/13
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO - well waiting to trigger!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) IVF round 2. Plus all vitamins, lifestyle and normal cycle tracking on top.
How are things going? Today will be day 12 of stims. Had a monitoring appointment this morning. Went from 3 at 10mm on Friday to 1@17mm and 2@14mm and an extra one at 10mm! So we're stimming another 2 days, back for monitoring again on Wednesday with the plan to trigger Wednesday night for Friday ER. Then if we have viable embies, transfer Mon or Tues. Freaking out about maybe a 4dt as we have no idea if my embies last that long. Also freaking out that I need to travel next Tuesday for work, so trying to see if we can decide on Friday to re-organize a flight for a train and leaving as late as possible. This time last cycle I already had my ET today so the impact on next week was not planned for. Going to be fun to explain this to my assistant and my boss...On the emotional side, the longer time, and every couple of days another roller coaster is certainly taking it's toll on my stress levels. I'm trying to read, had lots of couch time over the weekend (as the stims are making me super tired too) but still feel very tense.
Any questions? Any more ideas to release tension? I'm using the reading suggested before and having acupuncture.
GTKY: At the moment with the effects of all the stims I am definitely Sleepy lol! Before my IF diagnosis and this whole rollercoaster I was mostly Happy.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Nothing. Just waiting to start treatment again in 2 weeks. Then we'll be doing an IUI - our final attempt before moving on to IVF!
How are things going? Alright. Two weeks is not that much time.
Any questions?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) Sadly, right now I would be Grumpy because I'm angry about some situations at work. The Thanksigiving/Christmas season is making me a little Happy though.
@madspunk Back to treatment, yay!

Cycle/CD: Can't count that high

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) FET on November 6. Beta on November 15.
How are things going? Ohhhh not great. I have to report for jury duty today, so I tested yesterday. (TW -- I had hyperemesis with my loss pregnancy, so if I am pregnant again, I would want to warn them in advance before they put me on a jury and I barf on the judge.) BFN on FRER. I appreciate the reassurance from friends here that it's still early, but it sucksssssss. Hard to keep my head up now. I really, truly thought that this was going to be the light at the end of the tunnel for us. Sigh.
Any questions? How do you convince yourself it's just the progesterone and not symptoms? I have had almost every symptom I had with my natural conception last week.
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? Sneezy
Hang in there @emmasemm, you're almost there.
@madspunk Hopefully the 2 weeks will go by quick with the holiday
@adirat I'm really really sorry. It does suck so much.
Diagnosis (If you've been): DOR

Any questions?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) I'm happy. Even when things suck I'm happy. It's borderline annoying.

@adirat ugh progesterone sucks!!!! It messes with your mind SO bad!! I'm just at the point where I tell myself that everything is progesterone so I don't get my hopes up. I hope your test was too early and that this is it for you guys!! Fingers crossed so hard for you!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Had our 4th IUI. Beta this morning, tested yesterday at 13 DPO and BFN so there's that.
How are things going? Shitty. I'm just bitter. And she had to stick me twice this morning for my bloodwork which just added to things. So now we're going to gear up for IVF in January. What the fuck, I still cannot believe that's where we're at.
Any questions? IVF ladies - How many(ish) days of stims have you done prior to your ER? Just want to get a semi-estimate.
Also, I am terrified of the ER. Terrified...mostly of the anesthesia even though the woman told me it's "twilight" and I'd technically still be awake enough to talk, but I wouldn't remember anything and it'll feel like the best night's sleep in 20 minutes ever. I'm still already freakingthefuckout about that. Only that. Please tell me it's totally fine and NBD and I'll wake up and be like oh that was it?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) Right now - grumpy.

How are things going? As good as good can be when you were up all night with chills thanks to AF. Not a great start to the week. Hoping to hear some good news this week with DHs SA.
Any questions?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) Today it would be a combination of Sleepy and Grumpy.

@adirat girl all the fx, hope, and prayers for you!! How are you practicing self care in the midst of all this and with jury duty?
@laurad75 I’m sorry I forget but you’re doing a fresh transfer right? Are they doing ICSI?
@50Wife so sorry for the bfn friend. Looks like we have a lot of ladies gearing up for IVF in January so you will definitely be in good company although I’m sorry it had to come to this!
@flashley-2 sorry to see you here but this is a great supportive group of strong women. Why so long on SA results? we’ve gotten them within minutes for IUIs and within a day for a regular SA. I wonder what the hold up is?

Just trying on our own this month. Per OPKs O should have been yesterday. Glad we are able to try up until we start stimming for IVF in January. I want to use every chance we can get before then.
How are things going?
Okay, signed all the IVF consent forms last night and all of it was scary AF. Definitely had some feelings about it. Glad I signed them early enough to get over the feels before January. That’s the stuff the scares me with science is all the “as of the current research” and that there’s still things they don’t know.
Any questions?
What does RPL stand for? I see it all the time and feel dumb for not knowing what it means
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy)
I’d say grumpy since “passive” is not a dwarf. I need to work on my assertiveness
@adirat Ughhhhh FX its just too early. I hope the next 2 days fly by for you, and you get your good news.
@50Wife I'm so sorry. I don't even know what else to say, it's just shitty and unfair, and sorry after all that, you still find yourself here. Hugs, friend.

How are things going? Good. AF can get here any day now, but even with Metformin, my cycles are still often way into 40 days, so I probably still have a ways to wait. Patience is not my strong suit.
Any questions?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy)
Right now Sleepy. In the Spring, Sneezy.
@emmasemm Fx for your follies and being able to sort it all out at work!
@madspunk There's always so much waiting time in all of this. Two weeks really isn't long though. Hopefully it goes by quickly for you!
@adirat *hugs* I'm so sorry. It doesn't matter if it's early, BFNs are always hard to see. Fx for better news at your beta.
@laurad75 So exciting that your donor is starting stims!
@50Wife I'm so sorry for the BFN. *hugs* I haven't had an ER, but I have been under twilight sedation for a different procedure. I get really freaked out about anesthesia, but it wasn't bad at all. I felt no pain during the procedure, I was somewhat aware of what was happening, but pretty out of it. Recovery afterwards was pretty quick, and there were no side effects for me.
@flashley-2 That seems like such a long time to wait for SA results! Can you call and ask them about it?
@beachbunnyxo123 I've been looking into a lot of the medical research on IF and various treatments and it is scary how little we still know about what's going on and how best to treat it.

Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained
Cycle/CD: 9/12
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO (or just waiting for IUI - trigger was last night)
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Medicated IUI cycle.
How are things going? Pretty good! Went in yesterday for monitoring, and had two follies ready to go, one on each side. One was 17mm and the other 18mm. Lining was thick as well. We triggered last night and the IUI will be tomorrow morning. The timing ended up working out really well for both MH's work and mine, so that's good. I'm feeling a bit anxious about tomorrow, but also trying not to get my hopes up too much.
Any questions? My RE isn't doing any bw this cycle. How weird is that?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy)
I'm (relatively) freshly out of grad school (graduated in 2015), so this GTKY makes me think of this analogy that I saw online: Being a graduate student is like becoming all of the Seven Dwarves. In the beginning you’re Dopey and Bashful. In the middle, you are usually sick (Sneezy), tired (Sleepy), and irritable (Grumpy). But at the end, they call you Doc, and then you’re Happy.
Now I guess I'm just Doc.
Also, good luck with your IUI tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed for you guys! Is your RE going to do BW going forward? To check for progesterone or anything? Usually my RE does labs to compare my numbers to my follies and make sure they're both kind of on the same page. I just assumed they all did that. Hmm...
@Hollyyyyy I hope AF shows soon so you can get this show on the road!
@beachbunnyxo123 GL this cycle!!! Hopefully we won't be bonding over stim talk come Jan
I'm still hoping for some TTC on our own magic prior to January!
@flashley-2 Sorry to see you here!
4 weeks??? Did they tell you it'd take that long?!
@50Wife I'm sorry you have to move on to IVF. I typically stimmed for between 10-14 days. I actually loved the ER because I got to sleep and they would take my blood after I was out which was another silver lining. I never felt too awful after, maybe because I barely had any eggs.
@beachbunnyxo123 January will be here before you know it!
@laurad75 I can't believe it is finally here!!!! So exciting for you!
@emmasemm Go follies!!!!!!
@Hollyyyyy im not a patient person either. You would think after all of this I would develop some patience, but no.
Work is insane for me now until April so I'll be in and out and trying to stay updated as much as I can. We are trying to take steps towards DE and we will see where it gets us. The more removed I am the more I question if having a kid is worth all of this. How much do I really want to put myself through?

@50wife I think the average for stims is 10-12 nights depending on your protocol. A couple of my cycles were shorter because I’m AMA with no eggs. Also, for me personally, the ER was really no big deal. I remember for my first I was terrified because I had never been in an operating room before but everyone was so nice and then I was asleep. I woke up in the recovery area with my husband who had cookies for me. I think for some women who have a higher egg count the recovery can be a little uncomfortable but I was fine and able to go back to work the next day.
@beachbunnyxo123 We are doing a fresh transfer and I’m not certain they are doing ICSI. We did ICSI with my OE but everything is different this time around.
RPL usually stands for Recurring Pregnancy Loss but I don’t know what context you are seeing it in.

Also...without getting sappy and making myself cry by writing a response. It would 1,000% be worth anything you would go through. I promise. I know you've gone through much more than me at this point and I'm already physically and mentally exhausted. And after every BFN I give myself time to be pissed off and bitter and hate the entire fucking world, but after that I dust myself off and keep going because I know all of this will eventually be worth it.

How are things going? Ok. As some of you may remember, I was less than enthused with my current RE. Basically don't communicate or even act like they give a f*** so I decided to get a "second opinion". I have an appointment with a new RE on 11/22. They have already gone leaps and bounds above the current RE by communicating with me through email and phone many times. The only downside is that they are an hour away. Blah.

@50Wife - I've been under a few times (general full-on anesthesia twice and twilight a few times). You don't even know it happens. You're in the OR one minute watching the surgeon prep and then a second later you're in the recovery room wondering when the procedure will start when it's already over. I'm assuming that's how ER would work, too (never done that myself but I've had abdominal and oral surgery previously and that was my experience). I did conscious sedation at the dentist before but that was different. I took a pill to help me relax and it made a 3 hour procedure feel like it was 20 minutes. No pain, but I felt pressure on my jaw when they were drilling into my bone to insert a post for my false tooth. I was glad I was sedated. Stuff of nightmares.
AFM... I have an RE appointment set up for the 20th so we'll get some information on what we're up against here. I am hoping for reciprocal IVF. I sent our patient files from our previous clinic to them so hopefully that'll reduce the amount of blood work we have to do. The new clinic is a bargain with the $175 consultation fee (literally half the cost of previous clinic's consult expense) so I figured it doesn't hurt to talk to someone now.
@emmasemm Glad to hear your follies are cooperating. I know what works for some doesn't work for others, but for stress relief for me, I like to be somewhere quiet and just sit, maybe listen to music, and try to "turn off" my mind. I also do yoga and fully embrace the savasana.
@madspunk hope those 2 weeks go by quickly. Are you in the US? will you have the holiday to distract you a bit?
@adirat oh, that is rough, sure the rational brain my know it is too early, but a bfn is hard to see at any time. I certainly hope that test was too early. FX for you and I'll be thinking of you all week.
@laurad75 SO EXCITING! good luck
@50wife ugh, that sucks, that just sucks. sending you so many hugs right now, or you know, smashing things in solidarity.
@flashley-2 I was thinking about you last week. Glad you're checking back in with us. Our SA results took 3 weeks unbelievable. I hope you get them soon.
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad you got to sign the consents early and can process all of the feelings for a few months. as for RPL I understand it to mean recurrent pregnancy loss.

How are things going? not horrible, I think the idea of getting some answers has softened the anxiety a bit, but I also know it took 7 business days (7!) to get my results last time, so the anxiety builds. I'm hoping the repeat labs don't take quite so long.

@50Wife ugh I'm so sorry. And the blood draw even when you know the answer just sucks. I'm sure I'll be right there with you in January and we can freak out over needles and ER together. Hugs, girl.

@rallykat14 A good friend of mine has a very similar story to yours and has now made the choice to no longer pursue treatment and choose to live child free. She found it to be a freeing choice and ultimately the best thing for her marriage, mental health, and physical health. She's actually speaking at a RESOLVE conference this weekend about her experience. So the only person who can decide if it's worth it is you and your H (but mostly just you). There are a ton of blogs and podcasts dedicated to this subject and it's something you might want to give a look/listen to if you're feeling the pull in this direction. Maybe it really IS worth all of this heartache and pain. But also maybe it's not. Either way - that path is yours and whatever you choose is okay.
@adirat, I'm so sorry about you BFN. I know it's so hard to stay positive, but you know that we're all cheering for you and sending you good thoughts, so if you can't be positive, we can be for you. Sending you all of my love and hugs.
@laurad75, GL at your lining check Weds, I'm so excited for you!
@50Wife, I'm so sorry for your BFN. It's tough to mentally move to IVF, but we're here for you. I'm currently on day 5 of stims, and, as others have said, 10-12 days is normal. The anesthesia truly is no big deal, but I know it's scary. I haven't done an ER before, but last time I was under twilight, the nurse got it set up and she warned me I might taste something metallic, and like 3 seconds later I mentioned that I tasted it. The last thing I heard was her jokingly calling me a light-weight and I was out.
Diagnosis (If you've been): primarily MFI (OAT)
Cycle/CD: Idk, it's like month 33. I don't even know what CD to call it.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): stimming for IVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Treatment
How are things going? Things are fine. Had a follow up monitoring appointment this morning. I've got some growing, but they're not as far along as she thought they would be (I personally am not all that surprised, my eggs are used to a 30+ day grow period, lol). She said they might just be slower, which is fine, so they'll see what the bw says and then let me know if I need to up my meds. Also, my L ovary is currently chilling behind my uterus, and if it doesn't come out as it gets bigger, they have to go through my uterus during retrieval, so that sounds fun. Other than that, all good.
Any questions? Nope.
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) I guess probably Bashful right now. I've really sunk further into my introvert shell in the last few years.
@darkstar42 GL with your IUI!
@rallykat14 Hugs, friend. I agree with @50wife, in the end, all the appointments, pokes, prodding, drugs, whatever, will be SO worth it!
@RVAmom315 Hiiiii welcome back! I’m so glad you are going to see a new RE, and I hope you like him/her better than the last one!
@Shortstack930 GL with your IUI, I really hope this one is it for you!
I hope that whatever you decide, you can find peace and happiness.

@darkstar42 I don’t know much about the RE side of things but I always thought blood work was a big part of seeing how things are progressing. MH emailed the VR doctor to the results. I am sure they will be in the mail by the end of the week.
@RVAmom315 Glad you found a new RE. Nothing worse that having a medical professional act like your opinions and feelings don’t apply.
@Avrilmai I seem to remember your Canadian too, right ?? Explains the slow results - so annoying.
@AlohaKumu What a relief having your parents supportive. I also worry if family members will at some point find this too. Especially in laws - I may have said too much before

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Just got our results from the SA. We're waiting for our re-consult with the RE on the 28th to talk about treatment options.
How are things going? I'm a bit frustrated and overwhelmed by what feels like a double whammy of bad news. But I am insanely grateful that we were able to start testing early for our age. Also anxious to speak with the RE. In her note with the SA results she didn't seem too concerned about his low normal morph. I should not be allowed to google things.
Any questions? For those with knowledge in this area, have y'all been recommended IUIs with a morph issue? Any tips to improve morph? He already doesn't drink much. Will likely have him cut caffeine back. He's been taking Coq10 when we remember for about two months now. Also, is poor morph one of the MFI issues on this board? Do I just say MFI in the dx section? God I feel like a newb all over again.
GTKY: Doc, for multiple reasons but mainly because I'm often a leader at home and in the work place but still tend to lose my train of thought.
@emmasemm Sorry about the scheduling woes. Is there a reason they would wait the four days this time?
@madspunk Yay just two more weeks! Hopefully the holidays make the time go by faster for you.
@adirat *hugs* Sorry for the BFN this morning. I'm crossing everything that it's just too early today.
@laurad75 Yay! That is so exciting! And so close! Are you doing a fresh transfer or FET?
@50wife *hugs* Sorry you're facing IVF and anesthesia.
@flashley-2 Yikes! Four weeks is a long time to wait on results! We waited two and it felt like an eternity. FX you get them ASAP!
@beachbunnyxo123 FX you end up not needing the IVF. I relate to so hard to "passive" dwarf. It's something I've been really working on the past few years. Definitely not easy.
@darkstar42 I know I've already told you but I'm seriously so excited for you!
@rallykat14 That's a hard thing to decide. You've already heard about the three choices (keep going IVF, adoption, child free). Only you know which option is best for you and your H. I hope y'all are able to have some open conversations about it over the next few months.
@rvamom315 Sounds like the new RE is off to a great start! Sorry the office is so far away. Sounds like it might be worth it though.
@avrilmai Man why do lab results take so long? It's so hard to wait.
@alohakuma Glad your parents were/are supportive! I'm sure it's nice to have.
@shortstack930 FX you end up not needing IVF and that this IUI is the one for you.
@zwink1 Yikes! I hope your left ovary gets back in it's proper place. Going through the uterus doesn't sound like fun at all.
Hey everyone sorry for all who are struggling today, girls I feel you! Love and light to you all!
And to everyone who’s excited and things are going well I’m truly happy for you all
Diagnosis (If you've been): Still getting testing went for my HSG test today and he said it looks like I may have a uterus didelphys with one cervix HOWEVER this isn’t confirmed yet. It could still be a bicornuate uterus. Tomorrow I have my saline sono and we will have our answer.
Cycle/CD: Cycle 7 / CD 7
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Taking my all my vitamins, opk, kinda gave up on the BBT
How are things going? Ehhhh well finding out at 37 that you may or may not have 2 uteruses is kinda mind blowing!! So I’m on the edge of my seat till tomorrow morning. Luckily my app is.at 8am. Regardless of either the bicornuate or the uterus didelphys it looks like we’ll be going straight to IVF. Which is kinda relieving in a weird way.
Any questions? Does anyone have or know anyone with uterus didelphys? Love to hear some feed back
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy)
Morph is a tough one to pin down. For instance, both another board member and I have Hs with an OAT diagnosis. In my case, H's morph has been low and stayed low from day 1, regardless of what we do. In her case, her H's morph moves around a lot.
As for whether you go for an IUI first, that, like much of this journey, sort of depends and is a totally personal decision. In our case, we skipped IUI and went to IVF for a number of reasons, some related to my issues and some related to H's. Feel free to PM me if you want more info, or just to chat. I will say though, that I have found research indicating that IUI has little impact on improving pregnancy outcomes when morph issues are involved (which sort of makes sense, bypassing half the trip doesn't help much if they still can't get in the front door when they arrive).
@skilledsailor Just my two cents...from what I've seen here and on the IF board, some people with morph issues have success with IUI, but most don't. With a blocked tube, your success rates might be even lower (although I was just reading a crazy thing about how the egg can get picked up by the tube on the other side, sometimes -- wow). You should go as slow or fast as you guys are comfortable with, but you may want to steel yourself to hear some low odds on IUI success
@zwink1 I have a troublesome left ovary that always hides. Sometimes they had to look for it abdominally because it wouldn't show up through a transvaginal u/s. But by the time it had multiple follicles growing on it, it got much lower and easier to access for the ER. I hope the same happens for you!
TWTW we have conceived naturally before, that was 5 years ago, and we do not know if his morph was an issue END TWTW
I have been told that if count and motility aren’t an issue morph isn’t “as much” a problem. Low morph means a challenge in penetrarig the egg. It’s not impossible, just a lot tougher. We were told to do IVF with ICSI (which does the fertilizing for you) but I wanted to try a couple IUIs first. I have heard some vitamins and lifestyle changes can help - no smoking, minimal alcohol/caffeine, no hot tubs, no tight undies, etc. I have DH on CoQ10, a multi vitamin, fertile aid, and l-carnitine. We have not had a repeat SA since the original one(s) back in late June.
PM me if you have more questions about morph - I’ve been down the rabbit hole

How are things going? I am just trying to remain cool and collected waiting for Saturday to test. Of course symptom spotting the whole time. Every twinge, gas, bloat, BM, cramp, drinking pregnancy tea (cuz I am obvi losing my mind), keeping my feet warm for a warm ute, you know, the usual....
Any questions?
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy) sleepy, I could lay in bed for the rest of my life. I love bed so much.
@adirat girl, I am sorry you're feeling out with that BFN, but I will hope for you since your hope is gone. You still have two days to pump up that HCG.
@laurad75 Omg I a so excited it is finally your time!!!!
@50Wife I was OUT for my ER. Like never even knew what happened knocked out woke up in a different bed out. I was a little crampy throughout the day, slept off some of the anesthesia, and read a whole book. My mom waited on me hand and foot, so I thought that was lovely to be the baby again. I stimmed for 10 days but I think I needed another day or two for my eggs to mature.
@flashley-2 sorry to see you here, but welcome to the group. Since I left the dailies and have only been on this thread, I thought of you often and wondered where you were.
@darkstar42 I haven't gotten any BW after my IUI because they knew I ovulated and based on my progesterone levels in my monitored cycle of testing, my numbers were fine. They also said the extra eggs I released will help support progesterone so they didn't feel a need to test. I am also not scheduled for a beta, just testing at home.
@AlohaKumu oh I am so happy everything went well telling your parents! what a relief!
@rallykat14 hugs girl. you'll figure out your path, whatever it may be. Just make sure you're talking with YH and making decisions together at a pace you both want to move at. My girlfriend is in a similar situation to you and her and her husband came up with a list of 6 things and they had to agree on their list for three days in a row and then stick to it. You could rearrage as much as you wanted, but the three days had to be consecutive and no changes in the three days. Their list had save for adoption, talk about it later, foster to adopt, donor, TESE and IVF.... and a few others I can't remember.

@adirat I've been thinking of you all day. I know it's still early and I'm crossing everything on my body, hoping it's just too early for a HPT to show anything.
@laurad75 HECK YES! I'm so excited for you and I've been lurking along on the IF boards for updates from you, too.
@50Wife I triggered on stim day 11 and they did the retrieval 13 days after I started my shots. I was a bit nervous going in for the ER, especially since I knew I'd be put under, but it went really well. I "woke up" feeling pretty good and managed to garble out the question "how many?" to the nurse as soon as I could. It's going to be okay!
@flashley-2 Holy ponies, 4 weeks?! I know we had to wait a long time for the bloodwork, but that seems like a really long time for the SA. (I guess in this case they must really need to check everything out.)
@beachbunnyxo123 In our case they eventually gave us so many forms that they stopped being scary. I was on auto-pilot writing down my info for the billionth time. But even with all the unknowns in this process, it's amazing that science can get us this far! (Hopefully you'll be a SS and won't even need the IVF, though!)
@Hollyyyyy It would be nice if our docs could add some "patience" to our medical bags. The waiting seems to take forever at times!
@darkstar42 Woo hoo! I hope all goes well with your IUI tomorrow. Go, follies, go!
@rallykat14 I wish I had words to express all my feelings after following your updates. I cannot imagine how hard this is and the wait until April. We will have your back, no matter what you decide is the best course of action for yourself.
@RVAmom315 I can't wait to hear how everything goes with your new doc next week!
@wishiwaspreggo I feel like this whole process has totally skewed how I see medical expenses. When something is "only" $200, I get excited.
@Avrilmai I know I wrote to you on the other thread, but I'm still thinking of you seeing your update here and hoping all goes well.
@shortstack930 Best of luck for Wednesday! I hope all goes well in preparation for your IUI.
@zwink1 It's amazing how different all of our bodies are and how we sometimes surprise the doctors. I hope all goes well with the slow but steady growth for you.
@BusinessWife I'm like level one million freaking excited for you. I know you've needed to back off TB for a while, especially as you prepare for Friday. I think of you each and every day!
@SkilledSailor Yes, poor morph can be an MFI issue and some REs recommend IVF with ICSI, depending on how everything looks as testing goes along. But some couples have success naturally, even with poor morph, so bodies are weird.
@ndz2018 Good luck with that saline sono tomorrow. I hope it brings the answers and that your RE can come up with a great plan of action for you, even if it's to follow the course to IVF.
@JuneRoseRuby I'm so excited for Saturday to get here for you, too! I always root for everyone, but the MFI ladies have a special place in my heart.

@rvamom315 Thank you so much for your response! Will y’all be going in for another SA? I’m thinking we’d try IUIs first if they’re willing since that’s all we have (partially) covered.
@adirat Thank you. I really appreciate the honesty! My H is being uncharacteristically optimistic which is making me feel crazy for mentioning IVF to him. Even if it’s hard to hear, it’s nice to know my thought train isn’t off track.
@zwink1 Thank you for sharing all of that! I mentioned switching to boxers after reading your post and he scoffed. So FX the RE mentions it to him, then he’d do it haha. His other numbers were in the “normal” range, some just barely but they made it.
@Alohakumu Thanks, lady! I will find out my time that morning between 8-10AM, and then it will likely be around 1:30 or 2pm my time so... does that mean I'll be transferring right around the time you go into work that morning??? Lol. That time difference is so wild. Please send me a sunrise. ❤
@50Wife I am terrified of the anesthesia too! So thank you for asking that question! I'm so sorry for the BFN. It's so weird to think IVF is right around the corner when you look back on when you first started TTC and thought "maybe a few months of trying..." And now here we are.
@flashley-2 Sorry you're here! I was wondering where you went. When will the have the results to you? 4 weeks is a long time!
@beachbunnyxo123 The sciency part of IVF is scary. It took me a really long time to be okay with going the IVF route. First, I never thought I would need it. Then, I wasn't sure I wanted to pull out all the science. And when I think about it too much, it still feels a bit scary. But then I think about just how many people have done it - so many people!!! Many have gone before us, and we'll be alright.
@Hollyyyyy Hopefully AF gets here soon! Patient is tough.
@darkstar42 That's weird your doc isn't doing BW. What # IUI is this for you? That's great the timing worked out well for both you and YH.
@rallykat14 That's tough to be going through all that questioning right now. I hope your work busy-ness isn't too stressful over the next few months. We'll all be here for you whatever you decide. I've found on breaks that I have a lot of rollercoaster emotions where once in awhile I settle into relaxing into not trying and thinking maybe it's just better I live life and not care about babies, and then the next week I feel like a crazy woman who can't wait one minute longer to start TTC again. I'm sure you're doing a lot of thinking now and may not know yet - but when you say DE, do you mean donor eggs with DH's sperm, or are you thinking of embryo adoption as well?
@RVAmom315 Yay for finding a good RE! I hope your appointment goes awesome next week.
@avrilmai I am in the US, and I will have Thanksgiving to distract me. Thank god for that! I hope those testing answers come for you soon!
@shortstack930 I hope this IUI works for you! FX so hard! I am having similar feelings though - even though I have an IUI next month, I'm feeling like I'm just jumping through one more hoop for IVF.
@zwink1 So exciting things are coming along (even if slower than expected)!
@BusinessWife Supportive of you finding that balance! I know you're rooting for all of us. :-) And we're rooting for you!! GL with your FET on Friday!
Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained
Cycle/CD: cycle 1 million? jk... 3 years total. 3 IUIs. now first IVF!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO? I am still on birth control pills. stopping tonight. ultrasound and blood on Friday
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) IVF! whoop whoop! (took 6 months off after the 3IUIs to re-group, save, and adjust to new job)
How are things going? Excited to finally start! We were told the IUIs wouldn't work, so that just felt like being stuck on a hamster wheel. Trying to keep my emotions in check though.
Any questions? I'm already nervous about getting the injections, but my husband seems to be even more nervous about GIVING them. Any tips? We are new to our area and don't have family in the area.
GTKY: If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be and why? (Reminder: Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Grumpy, Happy). I'd be Bashful. I am very shy with new groups of people, which is why it took me a few weeks to join the Bump and then another week or so to finally start posting!
@thecolddoesbotherme Welcome to the board! GL with the injections. I'm sure you'll do fine! Are you or YH afraid of needles? Just stick the needle in straight and quick, and all will be well. For refrigerated medications, take it out of the fridge for about 20 minutes before you do it. It feels better when it's not super cold. For my first cycle with injections, DH did all my injections and I was so nervous the first few times. After that first cycle, I started giving myself my own injections, and I actually like doing it myself better. It feels like less of a big deal when it's just me, standing in the kitchen, quickly stabbing myself.
@50wife I don’t there he plans to do any bw at all. I’ll be on progesterone supplements, so maybe that’s part of the reason? I’m a little concerned at the lack of bw!
@RVAmom315 Thanks! So glad you get to see a new RE. I’m looking forward to hearing how it goes!
@wishiwaspreggo I hope the RE consult goes well!
@Avrilmai Thank you! I hope you get the repeat labs back more quickly! Any idea yet why prolactin might have been elevated?
@AlohaKumu So exciting! And I’m really glad things went well with the parent conversation. I’ve just started telling a few people about our IF issues, and those are hard conversations to have!
@shortstack930 Thanks! Fx everything goes well with your u/s on Wednesday!
@zwink1 Glad things are going well so far, and hopefully those follies start growing more quickly!
@Hollyyyyy Thank you!
@flashley-2 Yeah, I was expecting regular bw, so I’m kinda worried he’s not doing that. If this cycle doesn’t work I’ll push back on that more.
@BusinessWife Fx for you, and I totally understand needing to step back and focus on “real” life.
@SkilledSailor Thanks for the support. *hugs* So sorry to hear that the SA results were less than ideal. Did the report note what types of defects (i.e., head, body, or tail) they observed? Any chance that they can do a penetration assay to see if the morphology will truly prevent conception?
@ndz2018 Two uteruses? I had no idea that was possible! I’m so interested to hear what they see at your sono tomorrow.
@JuneRoseRuby That makes sense as far as not getting bw after the IUI. Did you do bw beforehand? They did schedule me for a beta on the 27th. My birthday is a few days later, so it’ll either be an awesome birthday or a really crappy one. MH and I decided that I won’t test at home before the beta.
