Ok, so I don't want to keep beating a dead horse, but I feel like this board is back to being super slow. I'm tempted to start a poll to see if we should bring back either the day of the week ticker changes OR the daily check in (but definitely not both in addition to the due date check in). Thoughts? Do people like the slower board?

I'm fine with how it is or having it be more active...but I don't know if another check-in thread will liven it up much. I wouldn't post the same update in two separate threads.
I think one of the issues is that almost all the new threads start at the beginning of each week, so the rest of the week doesn't have much new to add to. Maybe some more options for Tuesday-Saturday thread starts? (I'm not creative enough to be the one to come up with those)
@abhphilly I kinda thought, too, but today is Monday when the majority of these threads are started, and it's suuuuuper slow on here today. Or maybe I'm just suuuuuper bored at work! HAHAHAHAHAHA And actually, I feel like Thursday and Friday are more active than other days because of the UO and FFFC. @charlestonchew Mine is 12/20 and I wasn't thinking about doing anything cute like that until someone else mentioned it on here earlier, and I thought, how cute would that be? Wrapping up an outfit, or a card or something and having the in-laws open it, or keeping it a secret from yourself and opening it with your partner on Christmas morning? Gah, I can't remember who it was that was talking about it in another thread.....

I haven’t found it to be too terribly slow. The daily check ins don’t do much for me. How many times am I going to answer how far along I am and that I’m breaking out?
I think the board is slow compared to when I was on march 2014 because questions didn’t HAVE to be confined to a questions thread and we could pretty much make posts about anything. It kept up the pace of the board even if questions were repeated/dumb.
I agree, @lincbeesmom some of the questions start to feel redundant, so I tried (I don't think I was super successful) to ask different ones when I started the daily check in. I think I just need to find more shit to do at work so I'm not so bored all the time

Sure it's slow, but check ins are not the answer. I can't even bring myself to post in the existing check ins, they're so repetitive. I prefer having unformatted threads, leads to more conversation.
@charlestonchew I had an appointment this morning, too. Baby's hb dropped from 170 to 150 as well in 4 weeks.
I have to brag a little on myself. I started this pregnancy with extra fluff. At my 10 week appointment, I had lost a pound and at my 14 week appointment this morning, I've only gained half a pound back! I haven't been eating the healthiest, so I was worried I'd be packing too much weight on for my size. I gained 50 pounds (probably should have only been about 30 based on my starting weight) with DD and started this pregnancy already almost at that ending weight, so I've been trying to be healthier and not gain more than I need to this time. Apparently the nausea and not having the appetite for breakfast anymore helps lol. Hopefully I can keep up this trend and only gain a few pounds over the next couple months until baby, placenta, etc. really start contributing to my weight. But, with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, that may be hard to do haha!
so I think part of the bored feeling is also just we are sort of at the boring part of pregnancy. The beginning excitement is wearing off and we haven't hit the ultrasounds and increase in appointments and bumps growing and showers and stuff yet. But I think if we just add a few more of the random threads or just get really random with this one we could spice it up!
@sandbar517 I feel like this board is slow and that people don't really engage back and forth on a lot of the posts/check-ins. I am up for more posts or threads.
This isn’t random, or maybe it is to some, but our dog (our “first baby”) died on Halloween after a fast and furious battle with a rare form of anemia. He was only 7 and otherwise always healthy, so we are in shock. DH is taking it especially hard- I am very sad but mainly glad that Miko isn’t suffering anymore- and has cried every day and been sending me a ton of articles about grieving over pets. I know this is his own way of processing, but I guess this is our first mutual loss in 10 years of being together and it’s a new experience to learn how we grieve differently. The girls took it as well as can be expected. They helped us bury him and got to say goodbye. Our almost 5-yr old keeps asking when we’re going to get another dog and the 2yo just walks around saying, “Miko died.”
It it just sucks. And picture because he was just such a wonderful dog.
@MissusTexas I am so sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a pet. We had to put one of ours to sleep earlier this year because she just wasn't getting better. It was so hard.

I agree! The daily check-ins get kinda boring because there isn't much changing and a lot is repetitive. I like the weekly for that.
I'm all for more/different boards for more discussion and activity though!
I've only been more recently engaging because a) I was locked out of TB for over a week and b) I use mobile so I don't find it all that easy you respond. I'm trying to get better though since it's only fair. Perhaps some are in the same boat and waiting to get past 2nd trimester to really post? Now that I'm 13 weeks and telling people, I feel like I'm starting to think about maternity clothes, nursery themes, names etc, whereas before I wasn't. I realize all 3 of those examples have boards but perhaps we can have specific boards for more things. Maybe a stroller board, a crib board, a registry board? I don't know I'll try to think of better examples!!
@MissusTexas I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are family and losing one is never easy. I grew up with lots of animals and your think over time you'd grow more accustom to loss, but you never do. Each one always hold a special place in your heart. Your Miko was a beautiful pup and obviously very well loved.
And yes, the board is slow compared to my old bmb from 2016. I think corralling everything into too many organized threads might be partly to blame. I say if it's a big topic likely effecting many of us, let it have its own thread. Spice things up a bit! It's easy to overlook some posts a giant thread.
@MissusTexas I'm so sorry for you and your family. Our lab was diagnosised with anemia this summer and we were told he likely has cancer causing it,it just feels like a waiting game now.
Take comfort in the fact yh is working through his grief in what seems a productive manner. MH lost his father, and both grandmothers in 9 months. I don't think he processed well and occasionally shuts down and gets angry when I suggest changing something in our soon to be forever home that was his father's. He is attached to some of the silliest things, but not things I feel need attaching. Like the 40 million tittle posters all over the workshop and "man cave" that's really a recroom that everyone uses including children.
@theletlers I think you're right. It's the boring part of pregnancy.
@MissusTexas So sorry. Our dogs are our precious babies. I went back to the gym today after a long time. The dest lady made a point to mention that. I was like, c'mon bitch not what I needed today.
@sandbar517 I think a big issue is that people just post their own update/thought without actually responding/conversing with others. I liked that about TTGP....you tried to reply to as many people who posted before you as you could/see fit. I think the due date check in threads are pretty good about that.....but some posters just post their own thought and bounce.
I moved all of the furniture in our bedroom around tonight because I was frustrated and feel like rearranging furniture literally gives me a new perspective on things.
@justsuzie No she didn’t! Good for you on getting back to the gym. I know how hard it can be!
@jhysmath Wow, I’m sorry YH hasn’t been able to process those losses. I’m sure it’s frustrating when he seems to take it out on you. I’m so sorry about your lab. We scanned and tested for everything that could cause the IMHA in our dog but everything from tick-borne illnesses to cancer but it was all negative. Our vet thinks it was likely a reaction to the rabies vaccine, which he’s had before but apparently it can happen.
I just want to point out about responding to others that tagging on mobile is a pain in my ass so I always read and like everything but don't always feel like dealing with the frustration of responding.
@theletlers basil is disgusting @sandbar517 I think we have more STMs too with less questions/time so it's more slow. My first BMB is still super active on FB and I talk/check in with them multiple times daily, too. @MissusTexas I'm so sorry about your pup.
Where the fuck are the PJ Masks' parents? Seriously, these kids need to fucking sleep.

I had my appt today and baby was moving on the doppler. Heart beat was way lower today from 176 before to 158.
Anatomy scan for 12/18 so maybe we can do a cute reveal to grandparents on Christmas.
