R/R: Rant: It's Saturday and I have to work. Rave: It's only one appointment and is near my mother in laws house (they live about 30-45 mins from us depending on traffic) so dropping DH off there and then will get lunch and a visit in once I'm done. And then off to BIL's house tonight for dinner - meaning a very dishless day in our house!

CS/Q: Had a huge drop today - trying not to kid myself that it could be an implantation dip. I finally got a decent sleep last night with an actual solid chunk of sleep so more than likely that's what caused the drop.

GTKY: I wanted to be a Marine Biologist growing up - and I even took a year of college moving towards that career until I took a psychology course as an elective and fell in love. Ended up with a degree in child development psychology which I use very little in my job now. Currently I work for a non-profit assisting people with disabilities and their families who want to do self-directed supports.

R/R: Rant: ^^  Rave: Other than a small fix at a staging we have a pretty open weekend. Wanting to do some prep for Thanksgiving, and work on my scrap books. 

CS/Q: My chart for your viewing pleasure. 

GTKY: I wanted to be a vet. At another point I wanted to be a figure skater with 12 children. Then I wanted to own my own horse ranch. I now have a home staging business.

@SkilledSailor That's so annoying. I always try and wait to test until after AF is due but never manage to wait that long - the 1 liners are such a mind game!

@elolin Yes! I had consigned myself to WFAF yesterday and then the temp went back up. It sounds like a very rewarding job you have! How do you like it? And it's so nice you seem to like your in-laws.

@SkilledSailor FX that AF doesn't show her ugly head! I love my job - I started when I graduated from University with full intentions of moving onto something more along the lines of my degree at some point but 9 years later I am still here and now training to be our next E.D. when our current one retires which I am hoping will still be another few years as I still have a ton to learn. And yes, for the most part my in-laws are amazing. MH and his brother are best friends so we spend a lot of time with him and his wife (who I am not as fond of but have learned to at least be civil with after some ridiculous crap she pulled the first few years me and DH were dating) - I'm not sure how people with awful in-laws do it...I'm not good at keeping my mouth shut and would either make things worse or have to cut myself off completely.

@SkilledSailor Sorry for your BFN. I had one this morning as well. That’s really awesome that you own your own business! I think I went through a vet phase haha and I loved watching ice skating when I was younger!

Testing: I was trying to hold out but got a BFN with FRER this morning and a drop in temp

R/R: Dinner was great last night! We had a few more friends decide to come last minute and it was really good to see them. Indian food was great and then we stopped at a bar afterwards. I’ll put my rant in the CS/Q section...

CS/Q: So, this is the second cycle now where I’ve had what I could’ve sworn was IB. From what I’ve read about it, the timing of it was right, the color, and it only lasted a few days last cycle. Now, I never spot before my period. EVER. I just don’t know what the deal is, like, why am I getting spotting now at 9/10 DPO. My OB originally wanted to do a hysterosalpingogram after surgery to see how I healed but decided it wasn’t necessary at my last follow-up. He said if I decided I wanted one, he’d do it, so now I don’t know if I should ask for one or if I’m just insane at this point and overreacting. 

GTKY:  What did you want to be when you grew up? What are you now? Geez, what didn’t I want to be! An archaeologist, a vet, a Marine Biologist, a trash man (shut up, I was really little and thought riding on the back of the truck was cool). I eventually got a degree in Forensic Science first, but then went back for nursing after my grandmother got Alzheimer’s. I currently work on a telemetry/observation floor.

R/R: MIL is here visiting - as we were drinking wine last night she started going on and on about how when we 'really start trying, we need to be really healthy and not drink' etc... I was like....'mhm yah, tell me more...' ...sips wine.  At least I know she seriously suspects nothing. ***TW - kids/pregnancy/MIL craziness mentioned**  She also said that she had her first when she was 28 and how she was so young and she wouldn't even consider having kids at this age now...thx, just a casual 26 over here... I know she doesn't know we're trying but jeez, tell us how you really think!

GTKY:  What did you want to be when you grew up? What are you now?
I wanted to be a choreographer, and almost went to university for dance but my parents wanted me to pursue science so I went to uni for microbiology... then wanted to be a doctor, then didn't have the gpa, but pursued public health. Now I have a masters degree in public health and social policy, and work as the strategic communications lead at a non-profit org.

@elolin, my cousin wanted to be a marine biologist when we were kids! I think all this really led to was her painting a lot of pictures of whales. She’s a doctor now practicing family medicine. 

@SkilledSailor, FX that the spotting stays gone and your temp stays up...I hate that feeling of being toyed with by my body/the universe! 

@mrs_drc_rn, I’m glad you had a nice dinner with friends last night!

R/R: I just spent the first two hours of my day playing Super Mario Odyssey. I do not regret this at all. Later on we’re going to make spiced hot cider and watch movies! 

CS/Q: My temperature went up .06 degrees from where it’s been hovering the last few days. Even after all this time, I still had a moment of “Ooh, maybe it means something!” before I remembered that I’m only 5 DPO, that’s a tiny temp shift, and I seriously need to get a grip.

GTKY: I wanted to be a Civil War historian and an author. I’m now a librarian and I read a ton of history books...I haven’t written any yet but I might one of these days!

@canucklehead123, sorry about your MIL’s comments! Sometimes the casual comments from people who don’t know we’re trying can be even worse than the well-intentioned but obnoxious advice we get from the people who do. At least it doesn’t sound like she’s going to put a lot of pressure on you for grandkids any time soon?

R/R: So there is a high possibility that I will bump into MIL today. I am so not looking forward to that exchange. Taken the dog for a walk and there is definitely a nip in the air, even though the sun is shining. DH is in port so should get a FaceTime later today. Yay!

CS/Q: Been staring at my chart like it is going to tell me something magical. I know most would have tested already, but I dont like to see the BFN, and *TW kids - I also have DSS with me this weekend *TW, I can't face either while I have him here with me.

GTKY:  What did you want to be when you grew up? What are you now? A vet/gas attendant/teacher. I am business and legal. Not even remotely close to any. Although I did fulfill my gas attendant dreams briefly.

@canucklehead123 That would drive me bonkers - I am so grateful that my parents/in-laws never pushed/asked/talked about me and DH reproducing without us bringing it up first.
@Augusta108 Now I want to play Mario! We played so much over the summer because it's in our basement where it stays cool and we couldn't comfortably use the top half of our house because of the heat - now that it's cold it's too cold to hang out down there!
@nitnat007 I definitely couldn't have held out testing that long. FX for 2 lines after Tuesday!

@elolin I think it's really sweet H's family is close. I'm hoping my family all moves back here in the next few years. Although, like you, I don't love my brother's long time GF. 

@mrs_drc_rn I'm a big fan of doing any tests the doctor is willing/offering to do. It's worth asking them about. 

@canucklehead123 Haha Ugh MILs. My MIL doesn't want us to start trying until we live in a house with a garage because God forbids it rains on a day I need to take the baby out. S/he might melt in the 10 seconds it would take to walk from the door to the car.

@suzycupcake Hi, how are you doing? If my temp stays up tomorrow I'll test with FMU. If it dips, I'll know AF will be arriving within hours. 

@nitnat007 I do yearly scrapbooks. I started a couple of years ago, about when H and I started dating so it's fun to look back. I've been a major slacker this year and am just finishing 2016's book. Whoops! My 2017 photos arrived yesterday though, so I can get started on that one right away! Why do you think you'll run into your MIL today? Yikes.

@mrs_drc_rn I don’t blame you. It’s why I didn’t test again either. I may just start waiting for AF instead. For some reason, it was a lot easier emotionally than seeing no second pink line. 

@SkilledSailor Have you been scrapbooking for long? I’ve never done it before but I love crafts and such. I want to make a scrapbook of my Dads journey. Do you have a recommendation? I’ve looked at kits and stuff online but nothing seems good enough.

That’s probably because there are so many options. I felt overwhelmed by it all. Is it better to go to an actual store to be able to see things and touch them before buying?

@suzycupcake I've been doing it maybe three or four years? I personally like to look at things in person. I have a bunch of paper books and pick each one based on the theme of the page/photos. You might find that makes it more personal than a kit. I've found it to be really calming and fun to look at the photos while creating each page. I hope it's therapeutic for you as well! Really the main things you'd need are an album, paper (a book of it will provide more options), double sided tape, pens, scissors, and your photos. Anything more than that is extra. Feel free to PM me about it!

@SkilledSailor that’s really neat that you do that. And really fun to look back at. We are so bad even for taking pictures. We both hate them lol, but have so many regrets that we aren’t better at it. 
I have to drop DSS of at his cousins birthday today. She will be there. Ugh, so not looking forward to it and if MH was home I would make him do it. But the things I have to deal with while he is away. I’ll report back lol

GTKY:  What did you want to be when you grew up? What are you now? I always wanted to be a nurse or teacher. I was a nurse for 12 years and now and working on getting my teaching degree while SAH.

@SkilledSailor I think I’m going to ask him to just do it. He spoke with the specialist that he referred me to after the surgery, and he said that the test wasn’t really necessary since I already had surgery and it wouldn’t change anything at this point. At the time I was like “ok, makes sense. Let’s see what happens.” But now I’m just thinking that we have no idea how I’ve healed, and if both tubes are open. (He was concerned because one fibroid was close to where the tube attaches and said it could get blocked if scar tissue builds up). Ugh, but I’m rambling... I just need to get the damn test done.

@SkilledSailor Whelp she was there and completely ice queened me. She would not even look in my direction, just stared at her feet. FIL said hello to me and I said my hellos to him across the room. She was sitting right next to him and would not. BIL and the rest were all fine too. It is just her. *shrugs*

@SkilledSailor Lady can hold a grudge! MH says he is going to sort it out when he gets home. Doubt it is going to change her opinion on me, but he needs to be at peace with their relationship before he deploys. I thankfully should not need to run into her again.

@mrs_drc_rn I'm sorry for the BFN and the spotting tricking you into thinking it was IB. Sounds like a good idea to get that procedure done (I won't even TRY to spell that...) to make sure everything is okay after your surgery.

@suzycupcake What craft stores do you have near you? I can't remember where you're from. My favorite store for scrapbooking supplies is Hobby Lobby, but you should be able to find a good amount of stuff to choose from at any craft store. If you've never done scrapbooking, I'd recommend looking at Project Life. It's a brand of simple scrapbooking materials that does some of the preparing for you (there are pockets to insert the pictures into and pre-cut/designed papers to insert as well). @nitnat007 I'm sorry about the awkwardness with your MIL. My sister's MIL is very similar to that and she's struggled with it for years. I agree that your chart is very pretty, even though it doesn't mean anything at all.  I hope your FaceTime with YH was great!
