I'm going to start cooking 2 dinners every evening, because this is me in the middle of the night... every night. Last night I was literally dreaming about chicken and roast vegetables before I woke up at midnight. It was so much better than the bagel and cream cheese I actually ate.
@magnolia305 I wouldn't mind if it was a 1 or 2 day trial but there are SEVERAL long haul trials scheduled for this county. Like two weeks to two months. I can't do that financial wise and because of doctor appointments. I seriously hope that the judge let's me leave.

I'm supposed to teach a training class this afternoon. I just don't have the energy. And standing up for too long hurts. #needcheesewithmywhine
In good news, H is returning from a weekend trip tonight and I'm ecstatic. The dogs have been so out-of-sorts without him there.
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
So one of the "perks" to having GD is doc wants me to get a sonogram monthly to keep track of his growth so we can plan accordingly. My wallet isnt too thrilled (of all the years to be on a high deductible plan!), but its nice to see him regularly, as so far no red flags. Hoping this is how all appointments go. I'm equal parts excited and nervous every time.
@magnolia305 I'm with you! I got the preliminary form to fill out for jury duty selection a few weeks ago and I got so excited!
@rainafire77 a long trial would be awful! Hopefully being pregnant and requiring frequent doctor's appts etc. they will dismiss you or at least put you on something short
@rainafire77 say something ridiculous and they will let you out...maybe. Fingers crossed they don't choose you!
My DS normally stays with my mom one day a week, but DH wants DS to stay with his mom now every other week. It's annoying and I am ridiculously nervous about telling my mom, but I understand DH's point. As much as I can't stand her at times, she is a good grandmother to DS, so I have to suck it up
I start prenatal classes tomorrow! I'm mostly just excited for DH to soak up some knowledge, as I've already been doing a ton of reading and listening to podcasts. Has anyone else signed up for classes?

We start ours in November. I’m nervous about them because we don’t have my husbands schedule yet and while he asked for Monday’s off, he wont necessarily get them all off. So I’m nervous about having to go by myself

I'd hate to go alone too! Can you ask a friend or family member to be your back-up?

Unfortunately al family lives 3 hours away and I haven’t really made any friends yet since moving here. I’m sure it will be fine but it’s intimidating. I had to go to our first trimester screening by myself and I was the only person in the waiting room without anyone with them and I could feel people looking at me. I’m sure I was over reacting because I was sensitive to it, I just felt silently judged.
@caitb13 I’m sorry That’s a horrible way to start a Monday. I wasn’t cursed at (yet) today (for a change), but we did start the day with a fist fight and a possible drug deal all before 9am. Yay.
@ldawngirl781 and @pandappanderson I’m curious to hear what you think of your classes. We signed up for the 1 day crash course for birthing bc of DH’s schedule and because the longer course I wanted to take doesn’t start until January and we won’t make it to the end, even if I go all the way to my EDD. I also signed us up for a 2 hr infant and child CPR course, and I will do a separate breastfeeding class on my own. I still want to find a newborn and infant care class, too. I feel like they don’t offer as many classes in the winter months.

It will be great for your DH. I took the classes with my first and they really didn't tell me anything I didn't already know because I did a crap ton of research, but it really helped explain everything in detail for my DH. That really made me feel a lot better about his ability to help me and understand what was happening. I don't think most guys know anything about the stages of labor, dilation, effacement, and those kinds of things.
I woke up in the middle of the night with vertigo. I had to have DH walk me to the bathroom so I wouldn't fall over. Thankfully the episode has passed but now I have a potential sick kid. Waiting for DC to call me to pick him up. There is a slim chance it won't happen but I'm banking on him giving down for a nap and not wanting to wake up.
Any STM+ taking any classes? We are on the fence about it. We want to take my 5 year old to a "big brother" class, but we're also thinking of refresher courses for us. The problem is that they are at really bad times for having other kids. We have no family nearby and *confession time* we have never used a babysitter. My husband is dead set against having a stranger in the house when we are not home. Is it worth it going to a refresher as a STM?
@lainikins we did not take any classes the first time. I would like to take the child cpr class (I having being saying this since I was pregnant with my 2 y.o). I have not plans of taking any others
@lainikins - we didn't take classes for #2 and the only think we are doing this time is a hospital tour because I'm delivering at a different one this time. Having a baby is like riding a bike. It will all come back you you very quickly.
@pandappanderson I’m sorry you felt judged. I’m sure that doesn’t help the feeling of having to be there alone. DH can’t make most of my appointments and he definitely can’t make the growth scans every two weeks so I know it sucks. But try to focus on the information and I know during my prenatal classes it was sweet to feel baby move and be talking about birth. It made it feel like it was finally coming full circle. You’ll enjoy it.
@pandappanderson I'm sorry you have to go alone. When I was pregnant with DD my husband was out of town 3 weeks every month for most of the time. I did a lot by myself. I also look about 16 so I got judged EVERYWHERE. People made comments about me to their kids/SOs it was awful. I totally know how you feel. You kinda just have to get to this point where you're like "eff it" because that they think doesn't matter anyway.
We didn't take any classes the first time (I'm a nurse and felt like I didn't need them). DH took a first aid and cpr course (for work, but it helped).
this time we are taking a course for delievery; I felt unsupported by my DH and mom, and we would like to feel more connected this time. DH and I that is. My mom is not invited for delievery this time

This belongs more on the symptoms thread but I didn't see one for this week yet.
I went into preterm labor with my first at 32 weeks and had strict bedrest/medication until 36 weeks. It was pretty scary to go through and I'd start having contractions every 4 hrs when it was time to take medicine. All ended well and I delivered at 38 wks.
2nd child I was put on strict bedrest at 30 weeks due to contractions. I did not dilate as aggressively as my first and delivered him at 38 weeks (did not need medication to stop contractions).
Yesterday, at 22.5 weeks I started having braxtion hicks that turned into what I believe to be contractions. Over two hours yesterday my lower back ached and radiated around to my lower abdomen/down my legs. I laid on my left side and drank a lot of water, like I knew my Dr. would want me to. I also went to bed at 8pm as soon as I felt better.
Point to this post... I am so worried that I'll have to go on bed rest soon. Obviously, the safety of my baby is of the most importance to me. I can't imagine having to be on strict bed rest over 13 weeks DH is traveling for a week and another week in Dec.) I have 10 weeks of "sick days" saved and that will either be used for bed rest or maternity leave but all I have is 10 weeks... after that I won't get paid. Just a lot to think about. I am going to call my doctor today, she's been with me through all of my pregnancies and knows my history. Prayers are appreciated.
Sorry for the ramble. I have only been able to take to DH and my mom about my fears/concerns/worries.
@neener*neener* so sorry about the stress of bedrest and early labor. We can be bedrest buddies if you want. And I can definitely relate to the stress of not being able to afford a long bed rest. We are in that current situation and it stinks. Hopefully your doctor will be able to give you some positive news that it was only Braxton hicks. Praying for you.

I keep forgetting that not every state offers short term disability for pregnancy. Makes me glad I live in California and maybe I take that for granted. The US is so far behind the rest of the world! "Go forth and multiply! It's your god given duty! But don't you dare do it if you can't pay for it yourself because I'm not paying taxes so you can sit on your butt! Women shouldnt work anyway!" Etc etc etc.
It makes me so mad. Women shouldn't have to decide between their health & the health of their baby or having money to eat and have a roof over our head.

@neener*neener* wishing you the best of luck! Here's hoping it was Braxton Hicks and you won't have to take leave much sooner than you'd like to. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for the best outcome. PP are right...the U.S. leave situation is pretty anxiety producing and nightmarish.
My random: I got stung by a wasp yesterday morning. I was doing okay until 5 this morning... woke up to a swollen finger to the second joint, so it’s moving further down my finger. I am waiting for a call from the OB to see what I can do. I’ve taken some Benadryl last night, some loretadine today, and Tylenol to help with pain. But it’s the swelling that is the most painful!
