@funkykey I’ve been thinking about you so much. Hope is such a mixed bag. It’s good because it keeps you going but boy is the fall hard when its lost for that cycle. I hope you are sticking with your medication there are the little miracles out there and you never know if you are going to be one of the folks we all tell a story about one day.
@businesswife I total agree with you about getting hope from others that succeed. I think I wouldn’t give up long ago but I have seen people who have tried time after time after time and then one time for no particular reason their number comes up and it works for them. I think its hard when we see other fall because we have fallen and we know that pain or at least can relate to it. It hurts us too. I also gave this silly little hope that every FET/IVF of the month board that this is the month we will beat the odds and EVERYONE will get BFP. I know its totally unrealistic but I really we we all could get there and stop struggling. I’m sorry the holidays were hard I feel that way sometimes too.

@artemis618 I have been thinking about you. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. You are a strong lady to deal with this plus being around a newborn. Please take some time for yourself through all of this. I hope you get a good plan at your appointment that will be successful for you. Hugs to you.
@artemis618 Oh Transfer Buddy, I am so heartbroken for you! I had so much hope when your initial u/s came back ok, and to find this out now makes me so sad. I don’t even know how you survived meeting the newborn—you are a much stronger person than I. I am sending you so many hugs right now. This is so unfair.
@artemis618 I’m so sorry. I wish there was anything I could say to make you feel better. Sending hugs your way. I’m shocked for you. I hope you’re checking the forum and feeling supported.

Really quick PIO question. The past couple shots, some oil leaked out after the injection (only on the right side). He pulls the needle out and there is a little bit of oil oil left on my skin. Is that an issue? Has that happened to anyone else?

@Irisheyes81 I am not on PIO but I have noticed a little extra liquid leak out after most of my injections in the past. I just assume that was normal. I don’t think that small amount will make a difference and hopefully they account for that when making these meds ( you lose a little in the syringe and needle too).
So I’m in a bit of a panic this morning because I forgot to take my crinone last night. I really can’t believe I did that. I am the most responsible person and have never missed a dose of medication or had to set alarms. This week and especially yesterday have been super busy and stressful and I ended up falling asleep on the couch then completely forgot when I went to bed. I remembered when I woke up to pee this morning at 6am and took it then (I usually take it twice a day at about 8). I have called my RE’s office and left 2 messages so far and I’m still waiting for a call back. I have googled everything but everyone that I see in my situation forgot a dose when they were already 8+ weeks and the placenta is producing progesterone. I’m not sure if I should take an extra dose today or if it’s NBD and I’m freaking out for nothing.
@artemis618 I feel really sorry for you. Can I share 3 things? 1. The doctor is very important in the ivf process especially for patients at your age. Most ivf clinic treat patients like numbers and run like a production line. If you don't fit in their protocols, you are out. Protocols are simple: menopur+gonalf for like 6 days then cetrotide added. After 4-5 days, trigger... They are very reluctant to change protocols for patients. But patients are different! If you failed in your current clinic for 2-3 times, you need to change clinic. I changed clinic after 3 implantation failure and I should haves done this earlier.
2. Labs are also important to culture the embryos.
3. As to early miscarriages, it might be cause by the embryo or the mother. If the mother has blood clotting or autoimmune problems, some medications like lovenox, baby asprin, medrol, prednisone, etc might be used.
@safire3 just take your next dose... you’ll be fine. The supplementary hormones we take during FET’s are just to boost the levels we are already making. I totally missed a couple endometrins and Estrace pills here and there. Your body naturally produces progesterone in the luteal phase anyway...
@safire3 I wouldn’t worry too much as long as you took it as soon as you remembered and got back on schedule.
@dragonette505 there is only natural estrogen and progesterone if you are doing a natural or simulated natural cycle where a follicle is produced. Many FET cycles are completely suppressed and the meds are the only source of estrogen and progesterone until the placenta kicks in at 8 weeks or so because no follicular development and no corpus lutem
Melissa 39 - DH 45 TTC # 1 - 4 years, 7 IUIs, 3 IVF, 1 FET, 2 M/C, DD 2015 TTC # 2 - IVF # 4 March 2017 Long Lupron, 150 Gonal F, 150 Menopur 21R, 12M, 7F, Transferred 2 Froze 1 - BFN FET # 2 May 2017 - BFN IVF # 5 Sep 2017 - Antagonist, no BCP. 200 iu Follistim, 150 iu Menopur, Cetrotide started day 5, Lupron trigger 19R, 13M, 12F, No Transfer - 2 "beautiful" blasts frozen FET # 3 Nov 2017
Thanks so much guys. I really appreciate the input especially since the clinic still hasn’t called. I’m about to try them again now.@sunnyrain2 that was my understanding as well. I was suppressed with Lupron before FET and never ovulated so there is no corpus luteum to help produce progesterone. In fact my progesterone levels were low after my transfer which I was told is ok since I’m on crinone and it goes straight to the uterus.
@Irisheyes81 I have had that happen - a little bit of oil and/or blood drips out, nbd. I just get in there with the gauze or alcohol pad to press and it seems to stop easily. I think similar to @safire3 with the crionibe, we are really supplementing with a Lot. I'm sure there's a pretty good buffer with the dises/levels in there to account for human error, so even missing a dose - as long as you get back on track - shouldn't be enough to do any harm. Certainly not a few drops that may leak out, or not be injected bc they are left in the needle, or due to margins of error drawing the EXACT amount, etc. Please don't anyone stress!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@safire3 I think 1 missed dose is no biggie, especially if you take it twice daily. Time to start setting the alarms! Pregnancy brain hits early I put a Tupperware of mashed potatoes in the dishwasher and the dirty pot in the fridge two days ago. Good thing DH found it before we washed the potatoes. @irisheyes81 I drop or two happens. Do you stretch the skin before injecting? It's supposed to help prevent leaking. Also once it's all injected count to 5 or 10, release the skin and pull out the needle. I think the skin stretching technique is called z tracking or something. I realized last night I've been doing PIO for 5 weeks already. @sarah1516 I never congratulated you on your beta. @irisheyes81@BusinessWife@funkykey beta day is close! How are you all feeling?

@coco305 I have set an alarm now. I won’t let this happen again. Finally heard for my clinic and they said it’s fine since it’s still within 24hohrs of the last dose. By that time I had panicked and taken another dose (about 7 hours later) which I did not need. I definitely need to take a deep breath and chill. Also seriously loling at you almost washing the potatoes!

@BusinessWife congrats to my transfer buddy! I’m so excited for you. I’ve been wanting to ask but thought you might have changed your mind about testing. I could not be more excited for you! I had such a good feeling for you!!! What an amazing thanksgiving.
@coco305 you’re hilarious. I never knew pregnancy brain was a real thing. Mostly because I’ve been trying for so long and absent minded friends would blame pregnancy brain (even years after their kids are born). I always wanted to yell, it’s not your pregnancy you’re just a jerk. But it’s TOTALLY a real thing. I’m glad you didn’t wash the potatoes. I’ll try the skin stretching thing for sure. Thanks!!
AFM I haven’t tested. I almost did last night. I have been so ‘sure’ since the transfer for some reason. I had a dream I was trying to check the RE website for the results. I have a lot of symptoms (meds obviously). To be honest, if this is the only 11 days I get with this little girl, I want to enjoy every second.

@irishsetter81 That is funny you say that, and by funny, I mean Beautiful! I would like to say I had a good feeling from the beginning. But DH is so pessimistic. Like he claims he just assumed everything was fine and it worked and just whatever. But the minute I start to show any excitement or real anticipation, he will come back and scold me, saying we don't even know if ANY of our embryos will stick, so I just need to calm the f down. Honestly, I hate that he's like that. Like I'm not allowed to be "too happy" because then he will come back SO NEGATIVE, because he claims he "has to" counterbalance my optimism. Like, no you fking don't! You can be happy with me! We can be happy together!!! Don't get me wrong, we have our moments where we are both happy and hopeful together, and it's so precious to me. Because then it's like he catches himself and snaps himself out of enjoying it for a moment. It sucks. And I'm so glad you can just feel so happy and confident and so enjoy every minute. You should!!! Fx we both have amazing betas next week and beyond!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! @dragonette it means so much to know how hard you ladies are rooting for me. Seriously. @laurad75. @AlohaKumu You already know I'll be rooting just as hard for your upcoming transfers, too!!!
Thank you!!! @funkykey. I am hoping so hard for you, still.... whether this cycle or the next. When is your beta? Are you still in? I wanted so badly for us both this time.... ❤❤❤
@BusinessWife OMG CONGRATULATIONS!! What an amazing Thanksgiving present! I am SO EXCITED for you!!! I can’t wait to hear your beta results. You deserve to be optimistic and i’ll be optimistic for you, too. YAAAAAAAAYYY!!
OMG @BuisinessWife so so so so happy for you! Also I tried to insert a gif but apparently this is beyond my skill level lol!
@irisheyes81 I’m on the fence about testing for the same reason! I want to spend all the time I can with my little embryo and not be disappointed. A little ignorance can be bliss.
AFM, sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week the holidays have really just zapped me. We did our transfer yesterday and all went well. I drank like a TON of water and my kidneys must have been being slow because they had to comeback to me. I was super embarrassed but it all worked out and the doctor was super nice and understanding. So my little one is in there now (s)he just has to stick
I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to test I’m so torn. like @irisheyes81 I love having this short time before the beta to be with my little embryo and kinda live in dreamland of hopefulness and joy. Ignorance can be a little bit of bliss for me.
However *TW*
The CPs have been really tough on me particularly when you have a low beta and you have to wait two days to know if its going to rise or fall. With my last CP I was able to see the line rise and stall and fall. I knew exactly what was going on. I was still of course heartbroken but not having to wait 48hours and for a phonemail while sitting at work made for at least a much more tolerable situation. I could take my tests in the evenings and have that night to be sad and show up the next day semi-functional.
My beta is scheduled for next Sunday 12/3.

Back for # 2!
Take care of yourself and best wishes!

@irisheyes81 @BusinessWife @funkykey beta day is close! How are you all feeling?
@coco305 I will have to try that!

@Irisheyes81 - excited for your baby girl! Really hoping you get good news on Monday!
Thank you so much! @dragonette it means so much to know how hard you ladies are rooting for me. Seriously. @laurad75. @AlohaKumu You already know I'll be rooting just as hard for your upcoming transfers, too!!!
OMG @BuisinessWife so so so so happy for you! Also I tried to insert a gif but apparently this is beyond my skill level lol!
@irisheyes81 I’m on the fence about testing for the same reason! I want to spend all the time I can with my little embryo and not be disappointed. A little ignorance can be bliss.AFM, sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week the holidays have really just zapped me.
My beta is scheduled for next Sunday 12/3.
