@rmmorris oh I felt the same way. Of course I'm excited for a boy and just want him healthy but this is our last probably so I did cry realizing I have to retire all the girl clothes I have and won't be buying new dresses. I also hate how boy clothes aren't bright at all either but I know there's cute stuff out there just have to find it.
@stalkinghorse omg as soon as I told people I was having a boy people have made comments like "oh they're different! Fun and destructive" or "get ready to learn everything about video games" or "good you won't have any more girls 2 is enough drama." It's frustrating my girls are awesome and I could of had a 3rd happily. Also I like to think not all boys are destructive. My 2 year old girl is pretty destructive as it is haha
So much this. The stereotypes just have not held up with my kids, but then again my second daughter (now 3) is a wild one to the Nth degree. I have made a point of cataloguing half the traditionally "boy" things she has done and given them the hashtag #girlmom on Facebook just to make a point. Some of them have included going to the ER for a climbing-related head injury, digging a spider out of her mouth, etc.
My son is only 16 months but he is definitely a snuggler as well. The main way he's been different (and it's stereotypical as hell) is that he is obsessed with his genitalia and has been for months. I don't think my girls even noticed their private parts until they were 2.

Found out today we are having girl #2! I’m so excited for my daughter to have a sister so close in age (22 months apart). My husband really wanted a boy and he’s disappointed - I really feel for him, too.
@lindsye I love that you have a high spirited girl! When I was pregnant the first time, I lived in terror of having a girl because I was convinced I would have one just like me, and it scared the crap out of me! I was the same as your daughter, climbing everything, getting dirty, playing with bugs, and always in constant motion.
Instead I got the world's most civilized, quiet, and polite little girl. I scratch my head over her on a daily basis, and sometimes have a hard time relating to such a lady. I try to show her cool sticks and rocks and she is all "I would like to read now". It's wonderful in some ways, but makes me wistful in others. Now I hope that this next girl is a chip off the old block, and I can have a partner in crime to go re-discover all the world's dirt, sticks, and bugs with.
I just got my results back and they are sitting right in front of me in a sealed envelope. I refuse to open them without my husband. Now I have to sit here with this thing staring me in the face all day. On the bright side, my results all came back negative!!!
@ngolimento that is my DD1 - she is a consummate rule-follower and is a very well behaved little creature. She is opinionated, talkative and a strong personality in her own way, but nothing like DD2. (She is also huge like my husband, who is 6'6", and my second daughter is small like my side of the family; they really don't look like sisters). So yeah, you might be in for it with your next one!

@sarelizr - congrats on good results! We’re also ‘at least one boy’ Dh didn’t plan on telling anyone (since it sounds weird), but I reminded him his mom needed to know ASAP so she can start sewing, knitting, whatever else she is planning on lol.
@g_amoss I told my mom, which MH was not super happy about it bc we sorta planned on doing a reveal party for our parents and siblings... but I’m just so excited!!! Congrats on your boy!!
Just got the call about our Harmony test results!! Everything is looking good and we are having a boy! I’m giddy with excitement because of the good results and that it is finally starting to feel real!
@paventp Panorama is a specific type of noninvasive prenatal test (NIPT) that tests for conditions like Down syndrome, triploidy, etc. It can also tell you the gender very early on bc it analyzes the Fetal DNA that is present in the mothers blood. It's done with a simple blood draw any time after 9 weeks.
Being Team Green and following this thread is KILLING ME. I'm also amazed how many boys there are! Will be super interesting to see how it plays out the further along we get. Congrats to everyone so far
@frenchiekinplusone, props to you for being Team Green! I think it would be an amazing experience but could never do it, personally. My husband is making me wait until 20 weeks (versus Panorama next week) to find out, so this thread is killing me, too!!

So excited to hear all these healthy babies and so much blue! I keep thinking it's a boy, but I'm pretty sure we'll be a two girl family. DH would love a boy, something about being the last to be able to pass his name along
@frenchiekinplusone we were team green with our first. It was a lot of fun!!! Too when we went to the hospital to give birth the nurses and Dr were so excited. They said hardly anyone waits any more. I couldn't do it with my 2nd or 3rd lol but I'm glad I did it once!
I think we're having a boy too! DH comes from at least 4 generations to make only boys, so I'll be shocked if it's a girl! I'm envious of you ladies with the strength to stay team green! I wanted to, but DH didn't, and I caved way too easily!
We're team green too, so I love reading this thread. It kind of makes it more fun not knowing. DH wanted to find out but he also wants this to be our last, so I told him if this is the last, we go green!
Yes! Boys are dominating this board! I think we’ll have a boy too but won’t find out til our FIRST u/s at the anatomy scan
Lady, that's what I thought -- right up until the nurse called and said we're having a girl
I have such strong feelings I am having a boy. If it ends up being a girl I will be totally shocked! I know that probably sounds stupid because uhh 50/50 chance and all...
@JJMNO1616 It doesn't sound stupid. I haven't had one person tell me they think I'm having a girl. Everyone in my office, all my friends and family say boy with no hesitation. I too will be shocked if it's a girl.

I totally thought my first was a boy for different reasons and had a girl, so I already suck at this game. But this pregnancy is like the OPPOSITE of my last.

I am the same way @bagowater I could have sworn my first was a boy but I had a girl. Now this pregnancy everything is 100% different and I'm not even trying to guess since I was wrong last time. Everyone I know is saying boy though

Sorry, stuck in box again...damn mobile app!
Now that we know we are having another girl, I know DH and FIL are slightly disappointed for that same reason. FIL was an only child and DH was the only son. A third isn't necessarily off the table but I will be 35 when this one is born so it's something I'd need to really think about...and obviously not a guarantee to be a boy. I also told him either girl may keep their last name if they marry so not to assume anything!

from my understanding there are two Chinese gender prediction charts floating around out there. One is based on the Mayan Calendar, the other is based on the Lunar calendar. I've used the Lunar calendar with my past pregnancies and with all my friends pregnancies and it has been correct every time (its such a weird coincidence). The Mayan calendar has been wrong before.
We had our 12 week ultrasound and all was great. Came home and got a call that our test results were in and it's a girl!! I truly was sure we'd be having a boy!!

Really surprised by how much boys are outweighing girls so far in the post! Can't wait to see what everyone else comes back with!!
