Just curious how many people are sure of names this early in the game...DH and I could barely agree on names with our first (we finally settled on Lucas) and this time around is proving to be 10x more difficult. I just don't like anything and the few names I do like, DH hates.
What are your names or what names are on your no list? DH and I both like Blakeley for a girl, but I'm still not 100% sold on it. I really like Cole for a boy, but DH has his reservations about it.
We are pretty set already on Samuel Alan for a boy or McKenzie Elizabeth for a girl. I made a list of all names I liked and he crossed off everything he wasn't open to using including all family names so we didn't make any family members feel less important. (DH's idea... I don't care really) then we just ranked them and Samuel and McKenzie were toward the top of both of our lists.
We have already been working on this. It was extremely difficult for our daughter. Her name I Reese Madeline and I adore her name, but we need one that will go with it. I was stuck on Ellis Irene for a girl, but I do not want her to end up with Ellie as a Nn. DH sort of likes Scarlett. For a boy I really like Knox or Easton.
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
The only boy name my husband and I have been able to agree on so far is Rory and the middle name would be Charles. As for a girl, we have discussed Charleston (nick name Charley) or Vera for a first name and Jean would be the middle name. Both of the middle names have family significance.
If it's a girl Gabriella, we're still playing around with a middle. Want to do a spin on my mom's middle name RAE. So far Raely/Raelee, Raen/Rayne, Raelynn. My sons middle name is Lee so I'm not to keen on Raelee.
We haven't talked names yet, the girl name was just our thought last time. So I haven't thought about boy yet.
For boy we are leaning towards Duncan Lee, (Lee is DH family name) and for girl we are unsure still looking into Joan(Joanna) Ruth or Gwendolyn (Gwen) Ruth.
If it's a girl we are 90% sure it will be Haven Brooke, we still want to look around though because we have PLENTY of time. If it's a boy we probably won't have a name picked out until he's born
ETA: sorry, phone went crazy and posted before I wanted to
Our kid is likely to be a boy since there is oodles of boys in my DH's family history. When I was pregnant last time, I really fell in love with Grayson, but at that time everyone was naming their kid Grayson. I was almost relieved to have a girl and duck the dilemma.
Haven't really talked names, but when we were trying to pick out DD I kind liked Morgan Olivia. DH doesn't seem to care for it. A little while ago before we were even expecting we were watching episode 7 of Star Wars and DH said he wouldn't mind if we had a boy to name him Benjamin (Ben for short) so if he had to yell out for him he could yell BEN! Like Hano Solo does in the movie I know we are complete nerds but I wouldn't have it any other way. My biggest thing is trying to avoid stuff that's uber popular. I know in 2014 Riley wasn't even around the top 100 now it's growing in popularity. So hopefully she won't be in class with 5 other Riley's

Ben is on my list to. This may help to sell DH on it
We haven't discussed names yet, but last time I really liked Sawyer. H did NOT. Girl names are impossible for me. I could not find one I liked and everything H suggested was destining baby to the stripper pole. Thankfully we had a boy and we went with Declan.
Someone in the March group suggested the BabyName app. It works like Tinder, swipe left or right, and then you can connect with your partner and it shows you your matches. We've been having fun with it!
***March '18 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fails***
We're sold on Mia Leigh for a girl (our last name is a short-ish, two syllable name that begins with M, and Mia M___ sounds adorable).
As for a boy? Ugh, so much harder. The only name we can somewhat agree on is Conor Joseph, but I don't loooove it. I like it more than everything else we've talked about, but that's not saying much.
Our other kids are named Owen Michael and Anna Charlotte. I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with coming up with a third name that flows well with the other two, but I am.
We've been talking names since long before TTC. Boy names have been SO hard. DH hates anything remotely trendy, unusual or too WASP-y lol. Likes traditional names. Had to hold him back from a few and he really had to reel me in. The ones we can agree on are Henry (Hank), Max, William (Will), Milo.
For girls I get a little more leeway I've had Eloise (Ellie) Violet picked out for about 7 years. The other contenders are Dorothy (Dottie, DHs grandmothers name), Marielle, and Amelia (Millie) but our bffs just named their newborn Mila so I think that might be a little too similar.
It'll probably be a game-time decision either way. Loving reading about everyone's ideas!!
Boy will be Mason Wayne, both are family names. Girl will be Skylar Elizabeth, Elizabeth is a family name and coincidentally my best friend's name. Our other kids are Peyton Taylor and Logan Gene. Both middle names are family names. We've always discussed names during TTC like crazy people. So names are pretty set.
We won't name baby until it's here, but we have two girl front runners: Penelope and Emilia.
Boys, we have nothing.
DD is Isabelle Therese. Our LN is one syllable with a hard K, so we (more me) have a very hard time finding names that go with it. I have super neurotic criteria: must have a NN, more than one syllable, and be a name that I can look up the etemology on.
It's weird, but I think we actually picked out names in less than an hour yesterday, lol. For my first pregnancy, it took way longer and we didn't decide until like halfway through.
If it's a boy, it will probably be Kent Aaron. If it's a girl, Kassie Rose. DS is Kade Scott.
We're pretty set on our girls' name: Helena (Laney) Sharon. For boy names, we're totally undecided. I'm really fond of Jonas. DH prefers super traditional names. He's leaning towards Tyler.
I've been obsessed with the name Sophia since I was 12, I even called dibs on it and told my sister and cousins that if they decide to use it then they better be okay with my daughter having the same name haha. But now I'm not too sure.. I still LOVE the name, it's beautiful. It's just so popular now and I'm not sure it goes well my DS name. His name is Maddox and I just don't know if Sophia and Maddox make a good sibling set? Boy names are more for my husband this time around. There's about 3 we agree on so I'm letting him have final say if this baby is a boy.
We have our boy's name picked out and set in stone (Theodore Walter). I have heaps of girls names I like but we haven't agreed yet. I don't think we'll discuss it too deeply until we know the gender
Me: 26, DH: 26 TTC #1 since July 2016 Dx: PCOS, on Metformin since Feb 2017
If we have a girl, her name will be Jill. After my late mother inlaw who passed away sadly 2 1/2 yrs ago. She was a beautiful person and would have been an amazing Granny. Secretly that is the biggest reason for wanting a little girl. We have a little boy and would also love for him to have a baby brother also.....but I have no idea for boys names. Im sure that will be discussed once we find out the gender
A boy's name that I have always loved is Harry. Sadly though I can never use it since our last name is pretty much an animal name so can see a lot of teasing with that one.
Planning on using Thomas as a first or middle name if we have a boy. Girl names we have such trouble deciding on. I really like Kennedy and DH likes Riley. We changed our DS name in the delivery room though so I'm not sure how this one will go!
We love the name Arden. I think it's unisex, but DH thinks it's more feminine. Also love Alex or Abram for a boy. We are team green so won't know until the baby is born. We dont share names with friend a or family, because I don't want to to hear opinions. I did get drunk last month and tell my sister the name Arden, but maybe she doesn't remember.
We had a girl name picked last pregnancy, but had a boy and it took us 3 days to name him. lol So we still have the girl name, Hazel Ann, but no boy name. I lost my grampa 2 days after finding out I was pregnant with this one, so if it is a boy I'd like to incorporate Jack in it some how to honor him. Idk it's still very early in the game and we're team green so we won't know till baby is born if it's Hazel or another boy.

I have an Abram! His name is Abram Randall. Randall was my FILs name. I had never heard it before when I was pregnant, but it seems like it's becoming more popular.
We really have no boy names picked out yet. I have a few girl names though. We incorporated my husbands father's name in my DS' name and would like to incorporate someone from my family when deciding a name this time. My current top choice is Caroline. My moms middle name is Carol and my Grandma's (passed away in December) name was Carolyn. I also love Audrey Quinn (would call her Quinn and my mom's first name is Audrey), but my husband hates it.
@cbutler0045 Do you call him Abe? I think a little boy called Abe is the sweetest thing. It seems more older traditional names are making a come back after and era of more "preppy" names.

We do not! I always thought we would or other people would but he's only been called Abram. I do love Abe though

I know someone named Harry Fox lol
Well that's good to know! I'm still sure DH would be against it though.
So relieved to hear that so many of you can't agree on names either. With our son, DH really wanted Lucas and I was on the fence. I told him he could name our son if I get to name our next child and he agreed. Before we even started TTC baby number 2, I told him my names and he nixed both of them .
I feel strongly that this baby will be a girl and I want to name her Cassella Grace, after both my grandmother's. Cassella is my grandmother's maiden name. I chose her last name because her first name is Maria, which is also my sisters name, and I'm just not fond of that name and Grace is my other grandmother's first name. DH just doesn't "like" it, but I think it's because I wouldnt let him name our son Joseph after his grandfather because I don't like the more common names.
@JJMNO1616 We're thinking of using Audrey if it's a girl. We both independently liked that name then I realized our DD is named "Katharine" (and that's how Katharine Hepburn spelled it too) and thought it would be super cute to have a Katharine and Audrey. But of course, now hubbie thinks that's lame.
