@Dumbgurl04 Would Harrison work instead of Harry? You could still call him Harry as a nickname but his formal name wouldn't sound weird with an animal last name.
We haven't even started discussing names yet, but I'm planting some seeds for Theodore (Teddy) if it's a boy. I love Fiona for a girl, but DH has absolutely veto-ed it. Our son is Maxwell Thomas.
My husband's grandmother passed away last year and her name was Agnes. I want to use it if we have a girl, but my husband doesn't. He thinks its an ugly old lady name, but I think our little girl could rock the name! I teach preschool and I see a lot of names people might think are weird, but then you meet and get to know the child and their personality and then the name seems so cute. However, we aren't finding out the sex of the baby so we have time!
Our DDs name is Gabrielle Rose and I have a name picked out if we have another girl: Grace Elizabeth. DH is ok with it but keeps trying to make other suggestions and I'm not budging lol. We have no clue on a boy name because I like very normal traditional names and he wants a name that sounds like it is straight out of a Greek play. So hopefully we aren't having another girl because if it is a boy I don't think we will agree on anything!!! Lol
@srprins1987 oh yea we are having the same issue with boy names. In fact we had the same issue last pregnancy but luckily at 18 weeks I found out I was having a girl so I we didn't need to search for boy names anymore.
My husband wants the name Claudia so bad and I feel bad but I really don't. He's begging me. He says i promised him if we had a 3rd girl we could name her Claudia but that was post labor when I was hopped on pain killers lol. I want a name I love hopefully we'll agree. Feel kind of bad because I got my way with the first 2 kids but he loved the names too it wasn't like he hated them.

My First Daughters name is Alice JoAnne and she has a million nicknames she goes by (ie. Alice, Ali, Ali-Jo, Jo, Jodie, AJ, etc) so trying to pick a name for our second has been a challenge. Also JoAnne is two different family names with connections on both sides many times over, so the family side needs to be incorporated as well.
Why did i get so complicated with her name LOL :-) oh ya because i absolutely love it, that's why.
So for girl names we've been throwing names around like Maeve, Willow, Edith, Lilly, Emily, Avery, Olivia, Olive, Aryn and havn't picked anything concrete.
For boy names we have narrowed to two options: John Avery (full family name) or Benjamin Ryan (no family name my preference)
We had a girl name picked last pregnancy, but had a boy and it took us 3 days to name him. lol So we still have the girl name, Hazel Ann, but no boy name. I lost my grampa 2 days after finding out I was pregnant with this one, so if it is a boy I'd like to incorporate Jack in it some how to honor him. Idk it's still very early in the game and we're team green so we won't know till baby is born if it's Hazel or another boy.
Holy crap. Hazel Anne is been my #1 girl name 2 kids in a row!!! This third time my H has promised I can use it if we have another girl, even though he didn't like it the first 2 go-arounds. I'm curious to see if he keeps his word. I've never met anyone else with the exact first and middle name that I love. Very cool. I'd say you have good taste
Our boy name was Benjamin Steven when pregnant with DD and we had a little tougher time picking a girls name. She ended up Amelia Pearl. Named after mine and DH's late grandmothers. This time around my other grandmother has passed so I plan on using Ella Marie I think. Ella was her middle name and Marie is my mom's and sister's middle name and alternate to Mary which was both of my gmoms name.

Someone in the March group suggested the BabyName app. It works like Tinder, swipe left or right, and then you can connect with your partner and it shows you your matches. We've been having fun with it!
We are reusing our boy name from my first pregnancy Connor Anthony. This time a girl name was so much easier since we had one to work off of and didn't want a similar ending (ly/lie). Eliza is our pick but no middle name yet. My DD is Lily Michaella.
Lily Michaella ~BFP 12-31-13 ~EDD 9-7-13 ~Lily was born 9-7-13
Baby #2 ~BFP 8-13-17 ~EDD 4-22-18 ~Can't wait to meet you
Love these names! I'm impressed everyone has so much to contribute to this thread already but I LOOOVVEE baby names. My H jokes that I should start a business/ service where I help people name their kids/pets
last time I made a huge list of my favorite names, but I couldn't even get my H to have a serious conversation until we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. He didn't want to debate a name if it was going to be irrelevant. His names were horrible. But he didn't really care and I really did, so I'm the end, he just kind of waved his white flag and let me choose. So our daughter is Eden Olivia.
This is time I intend to resurrect my old list and probably add to it again. But I don't think I'm ready to really think about names yet.

@bagowater I'm also incredibly obsessed with names, so I'm forcing myself to wait until we find out the sex to get serious about a short list or I will spiral out and obsess the whole time. We have a boy name we picked out on our honeymoon, so that's easy, but I've been thinking about girl names basically since DD was born (she's Rose Quinlan) and I am no closer to any set ideas.
With our first, we couldn't decide on a boy name at all. We had a girl name before the anatomy scan. My H was not particularly helpful in coming up with names, but quick to veto. After watching me give birth (med free, not necessarily by choice, very quick labor), he was all, "you like Theodore, right?" Yes, honey, that's the name I've been pushing for months. That you couldn't quite agreed on. Yes. Thanks.
Hopefully #2 is a girl so we can use our girl name.

It's so terrible to admit, but I'm kind of hoping for a girl solely because I'm obsessed with our girl name
@Sissy42 nice! I have only recently come across someone named Kent. I have never come across someone with that name before and have yet to since. I kinda loved it right away and also think it goes well with my son's name.
We're doing Caleb Cardiff for a boy. Girl name is still up in the air. I love Eleanore but hubby says it's too similar to our daughters name, Evelyn (we also have a son Micah). He doesn't want any first letter repeats. He really like Charlotte, nickname Charlie for a girl. Maybe it'll just be a boy and make it easy!

We're using Tree names with our kids (Forrest is a family name so kind of a play on that) then Ann is also a family name and I tossed it out one day (first full girls name u had mentioned) and dh said "that's it." So we've never even considered another name.
@AlphabetFish my dh and his siblings all share the same initials (first middle and last) and he was adamant that we NOT continue that. lol
DH(27) + Me (27) = 1/14 Baby #1: Aug. 2016 Baby #2: April 1st, 2018
As a baby name nerd, I was just *completely devastated* to realize we'll be naming our LO's before the 2016 name statistics come out from social security! The list usually comes out the first or second week of May. Must be the pregnancy hormones, because I legit almost started crying, haha.
@dirtyboots what tree names are you considering? I love tree names but they all seem pretty "out there" to my Irish Catholic family who think I'm a bit of a hippie. They all sarcastically guessed that ds would be named Cedar, which is annoying because Cedar is probably one of the most normal sounding of the nature names. I wish I could use it but they would forever be snickering at me!
@dirtyboots my husband, his brother, their dad, and their late grandfather all had the same initials. Same exact middle name for everyone too. My husband threw that idea out the window as soon as we started TTC with our first. What a relief that was. Haha. However BIL has already said he wants to hold true to tradition. But he's single right now and no where near wanting kids right now. We will see what his future wife has to say about matchie initials.
I love baby names. We're going to have a heck of a time trying to name this baby though. With DS we knew instantly what his name would be. DD's name is left over from the first pregnancy because we could not agree on anything else.
DH suggested we both come to the table with a list of 25 names for each sex this go around and hash it out. I already have 20+ boys names and maybe 5 girl names. We do not vibe at all when it comes to girl names. I like somewhat plain, traditional yet a bit uncommon and his style sounds like he's naming off every girl he went to high school with!
For a girl, Saylor is my first pick but 1) think I still need to convince H of that and 2) I'd add a very feminine middle name like Victoria to balance it out. Other choices are Skylar or Skylah, Summer or Paisley.
For boys, I like Tristan, Declan or Chance/Chase...in that order.
I have a feeling H isn't going to help much with names other than saying yes or no. If it were up to him, it would be Bob, Mike, John...you get the idea lol.
