I primarily use Instagram for an obnoxious amount of pics of DD and my dogs. I don't post about 95% of them to Facebook. I figure those that want to see all these pics can find me on Instagram instead of unfriending me on Facebook because they think these pics are annoying on their feed. I get it.
@purplestarz Agreed! We'll probably need a re-introduction thread once we start a FB group so that we can start learning real names and faces. I'm going to be really confused to think of someone as "Jenny" instead of "Screename256"

I definitely would love to get on Facebook soon, especially over the summer! I won't be able to access it once school is back in session because it's blocked...but that's only for 4 weeks or so until LO comes. I am probably going to have to make myself a list of Bump names and Real names or something.

Last time there were a couple people who modded the FB group and we PMed our real names to them so they could find and add us.

I admin'ed our prior one, and just PM'ed people here for emails and sent them email invites to the group I believe. I'm not sure if that's how it still works. We also had a file in the group that decoded screenname > facebook name.

I don't hate Facebook, I actually really like it when people use it as actual updates and pictures, I don't get on there for advertisements and the news. I can google that stuff. Most of my posts are linked through Instagram, but I only post on there maybe once a week. It's usually of my son, never what I'm eating!

I don't understand fidget spinners. What is the point and do people realize how dumb they look?

apparently they have been around forever and they are good for kids who are autistic and helps them calm down and focus. but now that it is a toy that is all the rage and banned from a lot of schools it in turn affects the autistic kids who truly needed them and now they can't.
@bluejeanbabi05 I heard that there is a lady who had a patent for the fidget spinners and made like.. nothing off of it for years. Not long ago someone approached her wanting to buy the patent so she sold it to them. Then they went around and got SUPER popular and she definitely lost out on a lot of money. Oops.

It's my understanding (from taking with teacher friends) that kids can still have their spinners if they're written into the kid's IEP
@bluejeanbabi05 don't feel like a dick i had no idea either haha. my friend has a teen with autism and i did the same thing as you and she was like well they do have a reason. ho hum, cone of shame. but for the general population of kids they are stupid so i stand behind you on that
I think that's true, many kids have a fidget spinner or something similar in their IEP and teachers are required to follow those. The problem them becomes explaining to the other kids why a classmate can have one and they can't. My students are older and we haven't had much of an issue, but I know friends in elementary schools are not fans.

I am not a fidget spinner fan, but can see how there may be a legit use and how the popularity/dislike impacts those kids negatively.
@emwj10187 You do you. No judgement from me. I have a few vegan friends and they are all very in tune with balancing their diet within their preferences.
Fun story. One day a fidgit spinner just showed up at our house. Clearly from China (due to lettering on packaging). DH SWORE up and down he didn't buy it, and had no idea where it came from. We asked friends and family if they sent it to us. Nope. No one knows. or will fess up.
+1 to being ready for Facebook! I'm so over TB app. I've found myself not posting because I can't figure out which thread I read something on or who said it. I'm on FB more often and would participate more if it were easier to reply. Let's do it!! But also, another giant +1 for being PG members.
My UO is I don't think kids should get ceremonies for graduating kindergarten. They just had one for graduating pre-k. It's weird and pointless.
Also I love Instagram.
Not all kids go to pre-k. But I think all of those graduations are silly. High school and college should be the only graduation ceremonies. I feel like we make a big deal about too many mundane things.
