i dont care about special skin products using all natural ingredients yadda yadda yadda. as long as it doesnt make me break out. whatever. test on animals for all i care, i am certainly not going to research what you do to produce the ish. gimme affordable cosmetics that work, and i am a happy camper.
@carries2018 in theory, I care about things like ingredients, animal testing etc., but have I actually ever researched those things before buying cosmetics? Nope. So I guess I'm with you on this one.
October 2017 June Siggy Challenge -- "You Had One Job!"
@beezeemarie Same. When animal testing is brought up and I actually think about it, I'm obviously against it because I love animals But I honestly couldn't tell you if any of my current products were tested on animals or not. I guess I'm a hypocrite!
@carries2018 I'm with you on not caring about natural ingredients. Whatevaaaaa...does it make my acne go away??
My UO: I don't think pregnant women should have to limit themselves lifting as much as they do (except if they have a physical reason not to of course). To me, if I feel comfortable lifting a heavyish object, I should be able to do so. Last week when we brought a dresser I tried to help DH unload it from the back of the truck. The neighbor came running over telling me, "Don't lift that! You're pregnant!" I definitely could have handled it fine.
Going along with @carries2018.... I don't care like I should about the baby things I'm registering for being organic, or all the other stuff that goes along with that. My SIL moved to LA a few years ago and is now super LA and doesn't use plastic, only organic, etc- and to be honest when she starts talking about it I smile and nod and my mind drifts to other things.
I'm with you guys on the organic stuff. When we went to register my mom asked me if I cared if everything was organic. I laughed. Organic bed sheets? But.... why? I don't get it the purpose.
i really don't understand, plastic is not going away. so you save your child from evil plastic for a year. cool beans. then you start sending them to school and they will only take plastic cups, and you go to parties and it is plastic utensils.
and organic? i read once so you know it is true, that most organic ish isn't even organic. there is no testing or sumshit for it.
like at parties ill splurge for honest juice boxes to prove i am pro kids. but other than that? give me a break. i can barely get my kids to eat in general. they are eating the same ish they will be for the rest of their lives. YOLO enjoy those GMOs kids. this is living.
I'll be the resident hippie in favor of organics, at least for skin care. I struggled with acne for awhile and started seeing an amazing esthetician a few months before my wedding. This is Boulder so of course she was super granola but she had AMAZING skin so I listened to her and switched all my skin products to paraben-free organic-only stuff. The change was immediate and incredible. And it's cheaper! I used to pay a zillion dollars for that Armani foundation that yes, looked great, but it didn't clear up my skin so I had to keep using more of it. Now I use Inika and it's like $30 and my skin is so clear I don't have to use much at all. I'm converted.
And I am trying to buy as much organic bedding/clothing as possible because I believe in science (jk jk don't flame me) and I've read too much about endocrine disruptors to not think they're a real thing. I know baby girl will be exposed to all sort of ish but I'd like our home to be as free of it as possible.
I just saw an ad online marketing a product to make men "last hours and hours" Who are these women encouraging that shit? Do some women actually want to have sex for continuous hours?
I dont know if this is a UO, but the thought of having sex for that long makes my lady parts go into hiding.
i enjoy the occasional time hop post on FB. see how the times have changed. but frequent offenders drive me bananas. this one biddie has shared a time hop every day about the birth of her son 6 years ago. from the posts about being in labor, to actual labor, to the birth, to being overdue. like seriously it was annoying 6 years ago why are you dragging me through this torture again!? then on top of that your current day posts.
@bluejeanbabi05 I'm with you on babyproducts. I don't go full on organic, all natural blah blah blah. But I do use products that are not as strong with parabens etc and name brands I know work with adult stuff for me. Like I started stocking up on Cetaphil baby. Not organic , but a little less invasive with chemicals. And not budget breaking either. And smells amazing.
Also with you on the lasting hours thing. Uhhh gimme my big O once and I'm good.
In my opinion, Facebook has become somewhat lame. People share too many recipes, links, articles, and tag me in too much crap. What happened to it being used for connecting with people and staying in touch? I still get on it to try and keep in touch with friends and family out of state, but get annoyed having to sift through all the junk.
@carries2018 one of my friends does this and it drives me nuts. She shares no less than 20 time hops on top of 20 new daily pictures. She got unfolllowed a long time ago.
I'm for bikini's for my girls. They like to wear hem and they find them comfortable. However , I am against triangle top bikinis. They are not appropriate what so ever. Cute mock neck, or flowy over lay fabric tops are awesome.
under 1 i am all for the rash guard bathing suits, after that. i hate them. they are a pain to get on/off and i feel bad for the kids. i can feel all that fabric sticking to their body and being uncomfortable and hot. +1 for bikinis (non-triangle top)

This. Unless told otherwise by your doc I don't see a problem. I said this in another thread, but my doc said if it's not hurting you, it's not hurting the baby.
For my job I usually schlep my guitar on my back, a duffle bag of instruments (maybe 15 pounds) over one shoulder, and a tote bag of other items (maybe 5 pounds) in the other hand. It's not heavy at all, but I have a few families (usually the dad or grandmother) who insist that they help me carry stuff or use something with wheels. Uh...no thanks, this is nothing. They'd lose their everloving minds if they saw the weights I'm squatting and deadlifting at the gym.
June 2017 Siggy Challenge: "You had one job to do!"
Oh ALTHOUGH. On the topic of Instagram. Don't use it if you just want a personal photo album. I don't want 8596836 caption-less photos of your new house cluttering up my newsfeed.
I'm too cheap for organic anything. Sounds good in theory but mamas on a budget.
in relation to Facebook, even though I don't think it's an UO here, I I hate those damn quizzes....my spirit animal is a unicorn, this quiz says I should live in Philadelphia, my Harry Potter character is hermione. This one woman I know, my mothers age, takes them DAILY. My friends and I kept a list once of all the quizzes she did and posted. It was insane. NO ONE CARES.
i hate when people post multiple pics on social media of basically the same thing. Like baby's monthly pics. just pick your favorite one and post that. MAYBE two if one is funny. but still you should make some type of collage if that is the case. i am not clicking through each individual pic.
@jessirh Ok I guess I agree with you but at the same time I'm grateful for the ridiculous limitations because they're my excuse for skipping out on the last 10 minutes of floorwork abs in my barre class
+1 to the using pregnancy as an excuse to get out of doing things. I'm probably setting women back 1000s of years by saying, "I can't do this because I'm pregnant," but I'm lazy. DH is normally all for making me do my own ish (carrying luggage, other physical tasks that I can do but don't want to), but when I'm pregnant I can get out of anything. So I do.
October 2017 June Siggy Challenge -- "You Had One Job!"
@migdala I took a pure Barre class one time... props to you girl. That shit was HARD! We were all shaking so bad lol.
I go on FB every day to lurk but I don't ever post. Honestly I don't even know why I go on and lurk because 95% of it is people sharing links while the other 5% is full of people's political opinions. I do miss the earlier stages of FB when it easy more about having conversations and keeping up with people.
One thing I don't get? Snapchat. I don't understand what it is or why people use it. Why would I want to send someone a picture that's going to disappear in 10 seconds?
The worst thing about pregnancy guidelines is that they make other people feel like they can tell you what to do. Guidelines are fine but the only people making decisions about what I can and can't do while pregnant are me and my doctor. Last night I went out to dinner and a bottle of wine was ordered for the table, and the server (an old man) came and refilled the glass of the person I was sitting next to but not mine. I had already drank a small glass and wasn't planning to drink anymore, but it still pissed me off that he thought he could make that decision for me.
I'm on Facebook all the time for my BMB group but I rarely post anything publicly. I'm also on kind of an instagram hiatus. No real reason except it started getting boring. But now that Instagram has the multiple photo upload option I have no patience for people who don't use it and post a bunch of individual pics of the same thing instead. BORING.
i really dont get instagram. like what is the difference between that and FB? i mean i have already lost my identity and my posts are 100% about the kids. i am sure people don't need to see the same thing on 2 different medias. so i picked my side and i shall never convert ever!!! #alsosaidthataboutaniphone #haveone #saidthataboutFacebookwhenitcameout #haveit
Maybe this isn't a UO but I'll share it. Do not touch my stomach. Thank you, I appreciate you telling me I look cute pregnant, and that I have the sweetest bump. But I will karate chop your hand off of my stomach if I don't know you.
I'm ready for one too. I'm tired of these dumb bugs with TB app. I can't use it on mobile right now, only desktop.

I guess my UO is we try really hard not to use plastics. Glass bottles (they really aren't as clunky as they seem), stainless sippy cups, glass Tupperware. We do have a few plastic things, but I'm pretty strict about no plastic going in the dishwasher or microwave. To each their own.
