@leighry Thanks for the laugh! My LO has the same MO in the exersaucer. That thing is becoming permanently unclean at this rate.
@desoky01 Not crazy... I actually thought about it for a brief moment a couple days ago and then remembered that very few of us live anywhere near each other - or even in the same country.
Most days I'm laughing like "yup... there it is... the poopsplosion has happened" and I laugh with him while I change him. There are other days, however, where it's 8 million degrees and I'm cursing to myself as I'm trying to keep him from flinging his legs and arms into the mess that I'm cleaning. I'm sure I've been referred to as "the crazy lady in the Target parking lot" more the once! Also. I have 3 girls and they were all pretty easy to clean. Cleaning ball sacs is like an activity from hell itself. He laughs extra hard while I'm trying to clean his penis off too and I'm like "quit giggling while I'm doing this it makes me feel weird!!"
I'd love a get together too. I wish we all lived closer.. or even just close!
And I wish I could meet you guys too! We have developed such a great support system here! You guys feel like friends instead of creepy internet strangers
@leighry Mine poops about once a day and it always happens to be in the carseat, which smushes it out the side onto her clothes and/or carseat! I don't know how many times I've had her dressed nice to go to things (bridal shower, funeral, etc.) and she poops! I've learned to bring an extra nice outfit along now. Also my carseat cover has been washed a bunch!
If anyone ever comes to Baltimore or D.C., I'd be down to meet up! My husband thinks it's hilarious, I frequently say "one of my baby board friends says...." and his response is "One of your Catfish friends?"

I might make it up there one day. I still have quite a bit of family up there but now that we are in FL, they like to come down here and visit. I remember you mentioning the rooftop deck and it brought back the memories lol. We used to live in Locust Point when they started tearing everything down and building those expensive "row homes" with the rooftop decks.
I'm pretty sure the only one close to me is @anne11716 speaking of did you get hit by the storms yesterday?
There were a few tornados that touched down west of me. I was carpooling home from work in the middle of the storm (we were under a tornado warning). However we were sort of following it so it was fine, had to dodge some orange construction barrels in the road. My house is pretty good except for one large tree branch down, but it didn't hit any structures so thats good.
@m6agua that's my biggest fear. We don't get tornados here. But I watched the movie twister when I was a kid and it's been a reoccurring nightmare for me my whole life. Weird right?
Ha, we live in Canton. Ours is an actual row house, built in 1902. It actually used to be a grocery store. It was (shoddily) rehabbed about 8 years ago and they put the roof deck on then. My best friend lived in Locust Point, right across from LP Steamers (love that place!).
@kristah2 Yeah they are scary. Our area doesn't get them too often, except for the past few years it seems. The nice thing is my city doesn't get them but they do pop up about 15-30 miles south and west of me.
@RhodaMorgenstern My parents house was built in 1902! It's sort of a victorian style but not quite.
My parents just bought a nursery chair for their living room. They've been wanting a new chair/recliner and they like my chair so I told them to go to baby store. I saw one today and sent them a pic - they just bought it. I'm super jealous bc it is one I would have picked for myself had I gotten choice.
Oh tornados. I grew up in NY, moved to Colorado at 12. I had a few tornado dreams and then the last day of school during the first year we lived there, there was a tornado. The school's bleachers were damaged, but it was a tiny tornado and no one was hurt. I'm still afraid of them.
yes, I too have thought about a "bump reunion". I imagine we pick a fun destination kids or no kids and have a blast. Funny thing is I made fun of my MIL who often made friends online and would then drag her husband around as she met said friends by visiting them. In other states. I always thought she was a nut doing that. She's done it two or three times in the last 17years that I've known her. It's always been a positive experience for her. So now I laugh at myself when I even consider the same thing with my bmboardies.
Now if only my kid could stop pooping at 5:30 am she'd STTN. And it's always a TON of poop that gets everywhere. With the black out shades and night light it's hard to see much. I didn't realize this morning the poop was on her sleeper and sheets until she woke up for the day at 7 am .

We've all been there. And if you haven't yet, you're time will come.
GOt my A & A Muslin sleep sacks to try. I ordered medium (6-12 months) and these thins are huge. Like I thought looks like they're long enough for a 3 year old. I'm used to Halo which are not crazy long like this
Have any of you used the fabric bumpers? I'm debating putting some in M's crib. Last night he rolled over and bonked his head hard enough to be heard down the hall 5 times. He's rolling into the solid headboard part of the crib. He didn't wake up but it sure sounds like it hurts and there is a moulding part where he could easily cut himself if he hit it hard enough. Should I put the fabric bumpers in? Any other suggestions? Am I overreacting?
I have the mesh bumpers, mostly to prevent pacifier from falling out the back. If you have a solid side already then I imagine a bumper wouldn't be a safety concern but could cushion the blow . Plus aren't our babies sort of past that breathable concern even though they say no bumpers til 1
@kvruns Yeah I have the mesh ones too but it doesn't protect him on the solid side. And yes! He's rolling over, sitting up on his own and almost crawling. Isn't the danger over?? But I'm still freaked out.
@mrsmaryk2016 His ability to roll over and sit means he's ready for fabric bumpers. We used them with ODD for the same crashing into the side reasons and there was never a problem because she could move her neck, sit, roll, etc... and there should especially be no problem for you LO. He was the slept sitting up guy right?
I'm tempted by bumpers but they're illegal in the state of Maryland. You can't buy them or have them shipped here. I think it has something to do with babies suffocating?
The whole SIDS stuff rubs me the wrong way. I agree that while they are too tiny to move properly keep bumpers etc. out of the crib to prevent suffocating. But once your kid can move around it's really not an issue anymore. But there is so much fear of SIDS that people go to extreams to be "safe". I know people who weren't giving their 1 year old a blanket in her crib because they were still afraid of suffocation. I'm not saying it's not a thing to be aware of but it's gotten a little out of hand in my opinion.
@RhodaMorgenstern I didn't give a blanket and pillow until we transitioned ODD into a toddler bed at 2 years. We always just put her in warm pajamas and she slept fine.
V gets a blanket (it's crochet with big holes) but I won't do bumpers because aside from the suffocation/strangulation hazard they can also use them to try to climb out of the crib. I don't want him falling out of the crib or strangling himself. No thank you.

Yep that's my guy. I'm probably going to do it. He's definitely able to move around. I'll probably just tuck them into the mattress so he can't get stuck under it.
We do blankets when it's cold in LO room now - in the morning, he wakes up pleasantly surprised and starts to chew it. ODD transitioned to a twin bed around 20 months. That's when we went full on comforter and pillow. Though now at 3 she still doesn't use the pillow.
we are using bumpers because she was hitting her feet into the bed rails very hard . but i dont want to use a blanket because she is rolling and moving so much that it will not serve any purpose. we are using a sleep sack instead.
Anyone else's LO dig at their skin? Every time S gets a diaper change she is scratching the crap out of herself. I put lotion on her every day so I don't think her skin is dry. Also, how are you cleaning their ears? Not the part that gets wax but the creases. She gets crust in there and I can't get to it.
@Ladybug2821 I wipe it out with a wet wipe and then dry it with a tissue. A's skin is pretty dry so we bathe her every other day. The days we don't bathe her, I give her a wipe down with wet wipes in her folds so I do her ears at the same time.
@Ladybug2821 Could be a phase of exploration LO was lighting herself UP no matter how often i trimmed and filed her nails. It lasted for months, it felt like. She's chilled out now.. still some small scratches here and there, but definitely not as frequent or bad as before.
Does anyone feel like LO is starting to make sense of words? Like the babbling is starting to sound more like frequently used words you have? This happened with our first and then she blurted out "hi daddy" with a wave at just shy of 8 months. And then tonight during bath time, I could have sworn he yelled his sister's name, which would only make sense because I am typically yelling at her during his bath time because her version of helping is dropping bath toys on his head. But also know that you listen to LO one long enough that sometimes it just sounds like words.
I don't really feel like we're close at all to words here. But to me LO seems much more physical than verbal which is very much characteristic of his father.
