No listeria for me but DH let me have a sip of his beer last night at dinner and it was delicious! I felt like a rebel.

ugh i brought lunch today for the first time this pregnancy i think haha. but my sandwich has lettuce on it. so i got my dose of listeria.

I'm definitely stopping for lunch after my ob appt. Haven't decided if I'll go for listeria or not.

I'm so jealous of this thread. I'll have to settle with making my own listeria sandwhich at home. Trying to save money by not eating out. It just doesn't taste as good.

I eat turkey wraps most of the time for lunch and I dont heat it up. And I eat feta on almost everything (it is pasteurized, so not sure if that counts). Also, i have had a glass of red wine a total of 4 times this pregnancy don't call CPS on me yet!! Baby boy was doing great at my 20 week scan!

I'm so jealous of all your listeria, our only sandwich place is Subway and I think their prices are ridiculous!  I'll settle for the left overs I brought from last night.  But I did just have a piece of bread pudding and a piece of strawberry lasagna for my mid morning snack.

We have a really good local chain that happens to be just up the road from our house, but a lot of times their turkey tastes weird so it's made me nervous to eat it during pregnancy

I still have to wait a few hours for my turkey sandwich. But I've been plenty rebellious. Glass of wine or beer a week (ETA: starting 2nd tri), raw sushi, runny eggs, daily caffeine. All with OB approval. In fact, my OB told me to bump up my caffeine if I started getting headaches.

@canonmom413- OMG.... is that a Wawa Italian cold cut...? I've had two of those suckers so far this pregnancy... the 10" variety too. I might have to have a third now...

If lettuce has listeria... then I've been eating it at least once a week for the past 4.5 months. Whoops. 

I had two turkey (half) wraps last night at my mentee's symposium reception. Not even sorry.

Lol. I will say, it is all approved by my doc. If it wasnt, I wouldnt do it. So I guess it is an approved rebellion, lol! I just try to be smart about things. Dont keep things in my fridge past 5 days, buy from reputable delis. I drove myself crazy with the listeria stuff when I was pregnant with DD. Truth is, it can be anywhere. When I worked for a grocery store they had a recall on Peter Pan peanut butter for listeria.

@riverrainez I'm no doctor, but I'm relatively sure that the caffeine thing is mostly for the first trimester. I was told to avoid it the first trimester mostly but I've been pretty lax on it since I hit the second tri. I don't drink a gallon of coffee or anything, but I might go over the 120mg benchmark from time to time. I mean, I have to be able to function and if DD is not sleeping then I am not sleeping.

Oh yes ma'am! @crazypuglady ! this is my second this pregnancy. Only because it's still a good 20 min from me, as opposed to when I'm in Jersey and there's one every corner! There just happened to be one next where my appt was!

Definitely having a glass of wine this weekend when my mom and step dad visit. They are big into wine and always bring the good stuff that I would never spend the money on.

@purplestarz one of my best friends just got back from Napa (yes, I'm bitter) but said she brought back a super expensive bottle of her favorite to open with me after baby. She's semi-forgiven right now.

I have caffeine on the daily to help with my headaches this entire pregnancy

i think the max caffeine per day you get is 200mg. the medium iced coffee i get from DD every day is like 198.

Jealous of you coffee drinkers. I still don't have a huge desire for it and I miss it. It misses me

So would it be really southern if I admitted that I consciously avoided coffee for the caffeine but totally forgot sweet tea also had caffeine? Asking for a friend..

I dont drink coffee but have an occasional pop and I love unsweetened iced tea. I haven't really been tracking my caffeine intake and with all the chocolate I've been eating I'm sure I go over on days I drink pop/iced tea. Whattayagonnado.

I go over the caffeine limits from time to time.  Some days require the little extra boost.

Yesterday I had my usual cup of coffee in the morning, then an iced chai latte midday, and a Pepsi with dinner (which happened to be sushi).

@natleilynn I live like an hour or so from Napa but I haven't been yet. We might be going in July for my dad's birthday and I'll definitely be stealing sips from DH.
