  • Some cramping the past three days. Thankfully the Ovia app said week 8 is really common for cramping or I may have freaked out, even though it's not even close to as bad as AF cramping.

Also, I had GI issues on Saturday and that really sucked, so yesterday I just laid around and refused to eat 'real' food because I was scared. I feel a bit better today but I'll be pissed if it's a fake out and I eat real dinner and feel like crap.

*TW ?* I called the triage line for my OB because I've had off and on, very light, brown spotting for a bit now and I figured rather than googling it for the Nth time I'd let a medical professional tell me to chill out. Instead they gave me the stock advice of what to do if I start bleeding heavily and said they'd talk to my OB about whether he wants to move our June 1st appointment forward. Now I'm more anxious than when I called. (And crying at work.)

Edits: I thought maybe this could warrant a TW for some, so I added it just to be safer

  • The constipation is for real.  Not even my prenatal with a stool softener is helping. OB just told me to eat more fruit and try prune juice.

@jackiesmom324 Thank you!  I called my sister (who is a mama to four) and she calmed me down. The fatigue is brutal! I found I was a teensy bit less exhausted if I was militant about staying hydrated, but that may only be because it is hard to drift off when you really need to pee! ;)
@rainbowdashh fingers crossed that you're in the smooth sailing group. And that this week of anticipation passes quickly for you!

  • @Marley629 I'm with you on the consitpation. This is the worst it's ever been for me in any pregnancy. Taking colace and it's not helping. So awful.

My HG seems to be letting up - I am now OK in the morning and can eat a normal breakfast. Around 2pm it comes rearing back but I'm thankful for the early hours where I can be useful.

  • @vauxthekate - I get full really fast.  But I also get hungry really fast... basically I'm all about lots of small meals.

@rainbowdashh - it's such a small percent that something will go wrong.  Try and focus on the positive!!

  • @Marley629 I hear the same thing - and apples are something I can actually eat, so I am still eating them. I'm looking into accupuncture to see if that could help with either the nausea or getting things moving... Kind of willing to try anything at this point!

@disneyfan0511 hi there HG buddy. I hate that you're going through it too but at least yours is starting to let up a bit. I've noticed that I hit a peak toward the late afternoon where the nausea becomes almost unbearable. Sucking on hard candy has been the only thing that keeps me from vomiting. Hopefully we both get some relief soon
  • @Marley629    @disneyfan0511     It is nice to know I'm not alone in this never ending constipation struggle. My vitamin has a stool softener, plus I take citrucel, and nothing. My sickness and food aversion has been so bad I don't know if I should worry though, because I think I am basically empty despite feeling bloated as a puffer fish.

  • Has anyone else experienced heart flutters? Just noticed them last week and it happens a few times a day. My doctor did up my thyroid medication a few weeks ago so maybe that's a factor too. So weird because i dont remember getting them last time i was pregnant. I am going for my first obgyn appt on friday so I'll ask her then. I'll be 9 weeks on friday.

  • @JelloBean1 I was getting them and my RE had to lower my Synthroid.
  • NME44NME44 member
@JelloBean1, I had them really badly around 5ish weeks. I called my doctor and asked her to check my thyroid, which was normal. I really think I was dehydrated.

Ive gotten them in past pregnancies as well, but usually further along.

Experienced spotting for the first time today (11w6d) and I'm feeling paranoid AF! Went into the ER to hopefully get some peace of mind so I could sleep peacefully tonight and that was a waste of time. They are going to order me an ultrasound for tomorrow though, so that's something. I know it's super normal to experience light spotting but *TW* my SIL recently miscarried at 15 weeks *end tw** so of course my mind goes to the worst case scenario. Just hoping to see a healthy baby on that screen tomorrow.
  • @bkrahn Fx that everything is ok!
  • Anyone else cramping more than normal? I know this is likely just my uterus expanding now that I'm basically at 12 weeks. It just seems a bit more noticeable than before, and is kind of like light pinches on both sides of my uterus. Normal I hope!

  • @dkizz82 Sorry you feel so crummy. Morning sickness of any is not fun. With DD1 I didn't realize I had HG and just went through the first 14 weeks so sick thinking it was normal - with my second my OB realized something was up when I lost 15lbs and I finally received treatment. This time, they started treatment right away and it's been night and day - I still don't feel great, but the symptoms are tolerable and I haven't lost any weight. Hang in there - but don't be afraid to ask your OB for relief if it gets to that point!

  • For anyone who takes thyroid meds:

do you take yours in morning or night? I currently take mine in morning on an empty stomach but I think it all contributing to my MS and I can't recover from it. I have endo appt today so I'll ask them too but just curious what others did

@peachy13 For me the cramps have been coming and going the whole time, but i guess they did start increasing in frequency around 10+4. *TW*
My hypothesis was that this was the biggest my uterus got during my pg that ended in loss
If it's on the sides I always wonder if that's some round ligament pain and not just cramps. If any cramps seem kind of intense or painful I chug a bunch of water and make it a point to rest for a little bit.

Has anyone else noticed a decrease in the need to pee so often around 10-12 weeks? I went a whole 6 hour stretch last night, but I could swear I didn't go to bed dehydrated!
Basically I'm freaking the f*** out waiting on my scan on Friday and looking for any little sign that things are not okay (or okay!)

  • @whiska I was going to ask the same thing about peeing! I am 11w3d and last night I only got up to pee once after a 6 hour stretch! Usually I am peeing 3x per night. I read that around this time, the uterus moves up and takes some pressure off of the bladder. Then as the uterus gets bigger when we're further along (third tri?) and squishes all the organs, we will have the frequent peeing issues again. So FX this is all normal!

  • @JelloBean1 I was getting them and my RE had to lower my Synthroid.
Thanks, I'm thinking that could be it. They told me to take an extra half a synthroid 3x per week as soon as i found out i was pregnant, but maybe that's too much. I'll have the obgyn take blood Friday to check my tsh levels.
