Re: Weekly Randoms 5/22

  • @ShePersisted I'm so sorry. I think it's a good sign that baby looks good and hope your next test results show that too.

@ShePersisted sorry the news was inconclusive. Work on one day at a time and concentrate on the baby that you have seen. The next few weeks will be a trial. Try to concentrate on what is good and going well. Hopefully everything turns out well.

  • I'm trying to order new bras (Amazon, for the best prices and some particular brands/sizes I'm looking for) but I don't want to have to send a million back. Even though returns are technically free, it appears you do have to have a separate envelope for each one. Thanks to the dollar store, that's only $1 each, but still.

I'm crippled by too many choices though. So struggling to narrow it down. First world problems.

  • @slaven I wouldn't stress about her possible slip up, as it could be totally wrong. If you want to find out the gender, I'd wait until you get back to the states. And if you don't want to know, I wouldn't put any stake her her comment.

@ShePersisted I'm sorry that your results were inconclusive. It's definitely a good sign that your NT results were good. And even better that baby looks good. Hoping that your next set of tests come back with such positive results.

@TallMomma29 glad to hear you and the twins are doing well!

@BayCamp okay, maybe it's the mom brain, but I just read your post as "DH" not "DS" and I was really freaked out! Then I re-read it and I'm cracking up laughing at my mistake and your penis experience! As the mom of 3 boys and stepmom of another boy, I can honestly say that this is just the first step in YEARS of penis discussions! Lol!!
  • @bcashaw. Yes. Yes. Yes. Every. Single. Day. I am so over this week. DH even commented that I probably should just not talk to anyone at work today as clearly my mood is reflecting this.

I know this has been asked before but I can't find it. What is everyone using for a daily facial moisturizer? I can't seem to find any consistent information about what's ok. I finally broke down and bought Belli face wash because the other "safe" washes I had been using weren't doing a thing and my face looks like I'm 13 again. I really don't want to have to purchase the moisturizer though, the prices are a bit steep. Other suggestions? @duchessofcambridge I feel like you mentioned something previously?

@bcashaw @jess0211 every day has felt like Friday to me. Needless to say, it's been extremely disappointing.

@jess0211 I use neutrogena grapefruit acne wash every morning followed by aveeno moisturizer with spf 15, and neutrogena grapefruit scrub in the shower every night. I may switch up the moisturizer once it's done (it was expensive!) but I'm going to keep the neutrogena face washes. I've tried other washes but this is the only way I consistently have clear skin (with the odd zit here and there). I don't think these are technically "safe" washes but I asked my OB and she said I didn't need to switch. Soooo maybe I'm being selfish by keeping my skin blemish free but baby seems to be ok? I did get safe sunscreen for heavy duty sun exposure like at the beach or sailing or being out all day and stuff.

ETA: that was so long and then I just remembered: I'm pretty sure CeraVe makes a good gentle moisturizer with the safe sunscreen stuff in it. That's probably what I'll switch to once my Aveeno is done.

  • @jess0211 I really like my Kimberly Sayer Ultralight SPF 30!

@DuchessOfCambridge @jess0211 I feel like I wake up every single day and I'm like "uhhhhhh it's a day"
  • Anyone seen Celine Dion's "My heart will go on" performance on 2017 Billboard Music Awards? I heard about it on the radio and found a vid on youtube yesterday. Made me cry yesterday. It was beautiful. :'(
  • I can't move. Ugh. Going to take a nap for one hour and hopefully I feel better.
  • @MississippiCatfish lol! I never even noticed...they were different years so I was like yeah that makes sense hahaha

@ShePersisted   I am sorry you keep getting frustrating, inconclusive results.  Perhaps 3rd time is the charm?

My husband has been on a business trip all week.  I'm so ready for him to be home and I just found out he will be home today at 5 instead of tomorrow!  I can't wait.  It's the first time Henry has been old enough to realize that he is gone (or at least old enough to vocalize it).  All week he has been randomly muttering Da Da?  Da Da?  I can't wait for this afternoon!!
  • @JDW0325 I loled.

@av2323 that's so so sweet and also heartbreaking that your son has been saying that.

  • When is the earliest acceptable time for me to buy and set up a crib. Already getting antsy now that our apartment is unpacked!

@DuchessOfCambridge I like being prepared if  I could my nursery would be completed already
  • @DuchessOfCambridge Whenever you are ready to  :)

We have a crib from my son, but it was in the attic.
My husband has already gotten it down, put it together, bought lamps/shelves, and we have planned the layout of the nursery.
We loooove to get stuff done early!
  • @av2323 isn't it so sad?? As my kids get older, it's tough for me to see them "get it" more and more. My husband's travel is also increasing, which is sad. This week he is in Switzerland, earlier in the month a week in California. Next month is a week in Boston and two in Malaysia :(  my 4 year old is going to take the 2 week trip really hard, I have a feeling. Sorry to ramble, it's just been on my mind and always nice to hear someone else is trudging through the same thing.

@MississippiCatfish  It is so hard.  He has been a bear all week and I think it is because he misses his dad.  They want mine to start traveling once a month which is going to suck trying to adjust to a newborn and life with 2.  On the brightside, your husband is going cool places.  Mine is just going to Longview, Texas which sucks for him :)
  • @av2323 Once you get the hang of it, once a month will be totally manageable. It's not something I would choose if I had the option, but one week a month has been our norm and it is do-able:) lots of Starbucks for mom helps!

  • @DuchessOfCambridge any time is an acceptable time!!   Now while you have more energy and no ginormous bump in the way is probably an especially good time!  :)

  • I was worried people would tell me it was too early! You are all the best.

@DuchessOfCambridge whenever you please! If my spare room (soon to be baby's room) wasn't a dumping ground and place where clutter and random objects go to die I would have the room set up already! Note to self - get on clearing out that room...seriously.
  • @DuchessOfCambridge I have a friend who had her entire nursery for her second child done at 16 weeks pregnant. Good thing, too, because she ended up having to go on bedrest at 20 weeks for the rest of her pregnancy! It's never too early! :)
