@stella_700 I'm a salt fiend (all the time, not just while pregnant.) My go-tos are: pickles, olives, sunflower seeds, pretzel thins, popcorn, and cheese, which is decidedly NOT low calorie but, calcium. Oh, and pistachios until I developed anaphylaxis to nuts after I had my son. Good times.
@acgonzalez22 I had a bad canker sore the other day too! Took forever to go away. Kanka liquid helped numb it at least
AFM, I had some spotting a couple days ago after sex. That happened with my first pregnancy too, so I wasn't worried. This morning, had some red spotting with small clots. No sex yesterday Not a ton, but a few wipes' worth. We're in MA visiting family (we live in MS), so I am a long way from my doc. Also currently have one of my daughter's diapers in my pants b/c I didn't pack any pads. So, I'm a little nervous. Had an ultrasound last Friday and the bean looked great, so hopefully all is still well.

@drablnd I didn't have a csection but I have scars from my gallbladder removal and ligation (ectopic). They pull and stretch and catch me off guard too.
@rainbowdashh - I remember it being a really intense and uncomfortable feeling, but I don't remember it being super painful, if that's at all helpful. I remember trying to take several deep breaths, not move as much as possible, and squeezing the living crap out of my husband's hand. Afterward, I felt fine. The part where the needle went in itched for like a week, but it wasn't painful or uncomfortable at all. Two other things of note.
I recommend not looking at the needle. Obviously, this is a personal thing, based on how you feel about needles. But I've heard it's big. I never looked. Not before. Not after. Not googling it months later. I don't want to know.
The procedure took longer than I expected. I expected a quick in and out, but they need to move really slowly to make sure the needle goes exactly where it needs to go, gets the right amount of "stuff", and then comes out slowly to minimize damage. I don't know how long it actually took, I just remember it feeling like a long time. So perhaps be prepared for that so it doesn't catch you by surprise.
I've heard some doctors can now do it through the cervix and a catheter. For that, I've heard it's kinda like getting a long pap smear. If you have that option, it might be more comfortable. But I don't know how common that is; I didn't have that option. If you don't have a doctor to do the procedure yet, you might want to look around and see what your options are. I don't know that I'd switch from a doctor you like and trust just because she/he doesn't offer that option.
Is it as bad as your picturing in your head? Probably not (I don't know what your head is picturing, but if you're like me the answer is no). Is it fun or something I'd opt into if there wasn't a solid need? Nope.

@kvacmakJellybelly119I'm already plus size and with twins I'm trying to keep my weight gain/diet well within the good range. OHHHHHH green olives, the kind with feta cheese in them...DH might need to make a trip to the store. Cheese is always in my wheel house but I'm battling constipation with bloating, ugh. Early on I was noshing well on pistachios, then developed a smell aversion to them.
@Tennis11785 that's really helpful, thank you. I'm terrified of needles (which doesn't make a ton of sense since I have piercings and tattoos lol). Something about a needle being IN me is just... no thanks. I'm leaning towards cvs because it can be done through the cervix and I think I'd freak out way less. I see the geneticist on Friday and hopefully we'll have a date set so I can just get passed all of this and know if the baby is affected or not.
Have any of you ladies experienced spotting, or a light pink color when you wipe? TMI. . . Last Friday (8 weeks & 4 days) it was a very light pink color when I wiped, but had no spotting in my panties. This only occurred for about 4 hours, and have had nothing since. I called the doctor and they had me come in for blood work on Friday, and again on Monday to compare my HCG levels. They called me this morning to say my blood work looked good, my HCG levels increased, but they didn't double, so want me to come in for an ultrasound. I'm a little nervous, but wanting to stay positive.
@tinkerbellwest after your hcg gets to a certain level, it no longer doubles, but still increases. With being almost 9 weeks, I'm not at all surprised your beta didn't double.

Yeah I'm really surprised they did just do an ultrasound. I had to go in yesterday for cramping and he did an ultrasound. Said it was the o my way to really know.
@andipandicWed121369@kate0506 Showering has been an issue for me lately, as well! I usually take super hot showers, but have turned it down since the pregnancy. By the end of the shower, I feel ready to throw up, sometimes lightheaded, and just exhausted! I could totally use one of those shower chairs. lol I will try peppermint next time!
@tinkerbellwest I had spotting, and even bleeding, for almost 3 weeks straight and everything is fine. Between that and a stupid new ultrasound tech they thought I was miscarrying, but everything looks good now! Lots of people spot during pregnancy for no reason.

Starting this morning my left lower back/hip/sciatica? Has been so painful that I almost cried in front of my fifth graders which would not have been good does anyone have experience with this or suggestions?
(Edited a million times because it keeps deleting half of the post)
I need to nap in the afternoon but always wake up feeling awful. No matter how long I sleep or what I do before, I wake up dizzy and parched. I can't keep myself awake (no matter how I try) so I need to find a way to not feel so gross. It doesn't happen in the morning so I don't know why it happens after naps.
@babytime24 definitely try to keep your showers to a slightly cooler temperature so that you don't overheat. I love a scolding hot shower too but will definitely make you dizzy while pregnant. You're advised to not do anything that will raise your body temperature too much as it's not good for baby. But the shower stool sounds like a good idea if you are still feeling dizzy while showering, better to stay safe.
I've been feeling exactly the same @andipandicWed121369, I am constantly tired, as soon as I sit down I fall asleep. Hate this feeling as I just have no motivation to do anything. Struggling just to do normal chores round the house. Hoping energy comes back after this first tri.
I've also completely gone off meat, the thought of eating it just makes feel sick. I know I should be eating some meat for protein but I just can't stomach it
@squeen1991 I had that last pregnancy. I found exercise to keep my glutes and core strong helped stabilize my pelvis and minimize/eliminate the pain. I found it got a lot worse when I was more lazy.
@andipandicWed121369 omg I feel the same way when I wake up from my afternoon naps (that I used to love might I add...not anymore. ) I wake up same way parched like I'm waking up soooo thirsty I can't breathe and then so very nauseous. So weird.
When did everyone's (FTM) pants/jeans start to feel tight? I feel like everyone is talking about maternity clothes or having to unbutton and I'm over here the same as always? I'm 8+4

@moonlady-2 i was able to wear my jeans till 14-15 weeks last time before needing to do the elastic band trick. Then I just switched to leggings. I only bought maternity pants around 6 months, only because I wanted to feel like a normal person again lol
I'm 9w4d and my jeans fit the same as always, but sometimes it's uncomfortable. I've been tracking my weight and haven't gained anything yet. Even before being pregnant my jeans were usually pretty tight (the way I liked it), but now with an uneasy stomach and bloating I hate feeling any pressure down there so I unbutton sometimes.
Tmi over here, I've had a burning pulling sensation/cramps today and two time I've wiped I had booger like discharge with a swirl of red blood? Freak out or no?
@moonlady-2 I'm 11 weeks 1 day, I can still button pants but boy are they tight. I've pretty much started wearing dresses to work now and avoiding pants.
@ohmickey331 i had some mucus-like discharge too a few days ago with some brown tint (old blood) after cramping -- I read that this was likely from being a FTM and your uterus stretching in ways it never has before. Try not to panic but it might not be a bad idea to call your doctor just to hear what they have to say.

yes. this is apparently common. and i never did get all sensation back either. hopefully you won't get too many sharp pains as your ute continues to stretch out.

@moonlady-2 with my DD, I didn't need maternity clothes til like week 14/15 I think. Now, I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and the thoughts of putting on pants makes me cringe. I'm all about some dresses right now. The Bloat is real this time (but also Diclegis causes bloating).
@andipandicWed121369@ShyTonia I have totally been waking up completely parched/dry-mouthed. I've been trying to remember to keep water on my nightstand, but it's totally weird.
@moonlady-2 I'm 11wks and like @ashtynmo said, I can wear my jeans, but it does get to be very uncomfortable. We still haven't told anyone, and I feel like I'm constantly trying to find clothes to wear to hide this bloat/belly-- especially at work.
@andipandicWed121369@ShyTonia@babytime24 I wake up every morning so dehydrated and dry-mouthed too! And then I take my dogs out and I feel super overheated/short of breath after walking up the stairs and my shower is basically miserable.

@kvacmak It's got to be the Unisom with the doxylamine succinate. It's the little tablet ones.
The gelcaps have the benedryl medicine in it, which I'm not sure will work.
