8w2d here, I don't have anything new going on here except I have started getting nosebleeds like every day. I think it might be more if a crazy weather thing rather than s baby thing, but I never used to get them before.... It's just so obnoxious, but now I definitely have more empathy for my students who are fine one minute and bleeding g all the way down their front the next.
TMI but I've been so constipated. I have always been super regular so it's super out of the ordinary for me. It's a little puzzling since I've been craving (and eating) tons of fruit and can't get enough water, but my midwife and apps all say it's normal. I wasn't expecting this to happen until later though. It's awful. Anyone else?

Uggggg I was so exhausted tonight. Went to bed at 8:00. I have been cramping bad for 2 hours. Called the on call dr. Told me if there is no blood to wait til the morning. If you pray, please squeeze one in for me. TW*** this is taking me back to my first loss. TW***
@dkizz82 definitely praying for you! Hope you can get some rest tonight & that the cramping eases up.
AFM, 11 weeks tomorrow and still no appetite. I get nauseous if I'm hungry, but I can never figure out what I'm actually hungry for. Been also feeling lots of mild cramping/ stretching/ fullness. Definitely reasurring to read that others are experiencing the same thing! I don't remember feeling this in my last (first) pregnancy, but I guess I probably wouldn't have even known what I was feeling at the time anyways.
@dkizz82 I'm sorry you're not feeling great. Hopefully it's nothing. Just rest and try to get some sleep. I don't pray, but I will send positive thoughts your way. Hugs
I'm reading so many mixed things. .... dentist? I know it's good to go while pregnant. But can u get a cavity filled? Wouldn't that require an x ray first?
Me: 31 DH: 32 DH since 12.2009 Married 08.2013 EDD 12.2017
@dkizz82 sending you positive thoughts. Hope all is ok.
@AMCsquared I've been researching this too because I think I chipped a tooth (while eating soft food ) the other day. My teeth are not great (thanks genetics) and I have a feeling that pregnancy will ravage them. Some dentists will treat you in second tri and some will not treat you unless it's an emergency. And if your OB is ok with it, they may give you a list of approved local anesthetics. When an X-ray is necessary I think they give pg women a double layer of protection.
@AMCsquared I had cavities filled when I was about 5 weeks pregnant. I did call the dentists's office ahead of time to see if it was okay and also reminded her when I arrived to my appointment. The only thing she did different was used a more mild anesthetic that would be safe during pregnancy.

@AMCsquared concerning the dentist, I would call your OB first and get the "go ahead" from them. They might even send an authorization letter to your dentist if you do need x-rays (that's what my dentist) requires. GL!
@AMCsquared I think the only thing you'd need to worry about is whatever drugs they'd give you for numbing. X-rays shouldn't give off enough radiation to be harmful, and they would be x-raying your mouth/face, not your stomach, so you should be okay there. I know most dentists skip them in pregnant women, but honestly, I think the risk is negligible, so if it's a necessity then I would go for it. You can always place one of the vests on your stomach if it's worrisome.
Edit to add: I mean one of those big vests you wear when getting x-rays. Don't exactly know what they're called. But one of those should be plenty of protection, I'd think.
For women dealing with nausea and/or sleep deprivation... my nurse suggested a Unisom before bed. I tried it last night, and today NO NAUSEA at all so far. (It's still morning, so we'll see.) I don't really have trouble sleep, so this was strictly for nausea. I woke up feel so good this morning I wanted to cry. But since it's also a sleep aid, if you're having insomnia, give it a try.
Just make sure to take the tablet, NOT the gelcap. They are two different medicines. Only the whateverwhatever succinate tablet will work for nausea.
(Sorry if this ends up being common knowledge... it was new to me!)
I've got smell issues of course but I've also been dealing with some inner ear issues, bending over to put laundry in the dryer, unloading the dishwasher, the motion of scrubbing my head when shampooing, all these things trigger me dry heaving/barfing. I, blessedly, don't have the all day nausea that many of our group are dealing with. I am dealing with terrible lower back pain, this weekend I need to buy a belly band as I've heard that can help. Still going to bed at 9 p.m. and besides the peeing enjoying getting good sleep.
@bamacoop i did know that and I've been taking Unisom for sleep. You can also add 25mg of vitamin B6 - that's supposed to help also. I'm glad you're feeling good!
If it wasn't for my boobs being full and my nips being sensitive and still being constipated, i would question if I was pregnant. I'm not nauseous hardly at all, which is nice since with the twins I didn't really want to eat at all during the first 9 weeks or so!
@stella_700 I was having similar inner ear issues and found it improved a LOT when I started paying closer attention to my hydration/electrolyte intake. At first I wasn't eating enough salt, even though I was craving it, now days when I don't drink enough water I feel off the next day. @bamacoop which formulation of unisom? I know own ones I've seen here are dipenhydramine (aka benadryl)
@kvacmak DOH! that makes complete sense. I'm drinking enough already at 50 oz. today so far. Recommendations for salty snacks without too many calories? This also explains my constant craving for chips and queso and cheez-its.
@moonlady-2 I can sooooo relate. I was always super regular every am to be exact lol before being pregnant and up until a couple of weeks ago. Then yesterday(sorry for the TMI) I experienced my first episode ever of complete constipation and it was the works ever. I'm hoping to make it more regular with my diet but we will see.
***TW Today Around 10am I went to the bathroom and wiped and there was a very teeny tiny amount of white to off whitish tan color stringy discharge. I called my Dr an hour or so later and left a message. They got back to me and said that's completely fine because of me stopping my progesterone and to just let them know if it happens again TW****
In that small time frame from when I left message to when they called me back was when I used my at home doppler for the first time. And found our lil babes HB in less then a minute. So that was a huge relief. I am so happy DH ordered it for me.
New to The Bump!!!! The night time nausea is really getting to me...all I crave is canned tuna and dang it! I can't eat more than 1-2 cans a week I am so excited to see my little strawberry next week at our Ultrasound Nervous...as this pregnancy following 2 miscarriages... On the Prometrium suppositories and it has seemed to make a difference (That, and God's will of course!) I find myself freaking out more and more the closer I get to the ultrasound... we saw a strong heartbeat at 8w2d (174) so that is a good reassurance.
@ktcakes87 hope your doc can reassure you. my best advice, both for now and after LO arrives, is to RESIST the urge to consult dr. google. i LOL'd at your post (though i'm sure, right now, it's not funny to you) regarding everything pointing to cancer. it's the truth. "i have a headache." "it must be cancer of the brain." and the shit the internet comes up with once you start googling infant stuff...yikes.
@jlemons-2 ughhh that sucks. the 1 hour is bad enough but the 3 hour is like pure torture. FX you pass!
Gahhhh so I have an SCH. Again. Dealt with this with DS' pregnancy. They said it was small and didn't seem concerned but I would LOVE for just one thing to just be blissfully enjoyful and easy about pregnancy for me. At least now I have pelvic rest as an excuse for my paranoia no-sex streak. Poor DH.
@moonlady-2 I've definitely been constipated. I usually use it twice a day if not more. This is TMI, but the floodgates opened yesterday and I feel so much better!
I am shocked that I seem to have my nausea under control today and no heartburn!
@rainbowdashh wishing you the best and good luck if you are.. Can I ask why they are going to amniocentesis/cvs first? Did they offer you the non invasive prenatal screen which is less invasive and less chance of complications
@jackiesmom324 my husband and I are carriers of a metabolic disorder. *TW* our son was born last September and we found out through the newborn screening that he had methylmalonic acidemia. He passed away in October. *end TW* blood tests won't find it, so I have to do something more invasive. If we know the baby has it before birth, they'll start treatment immediately and the prognosis will be so much better than what we've experienced.
If I choose CVS, I should be having it done in the next 2.5 weeks.
@rainbowdashh sorry for your loss. wishing you the best for this pregnancy and of course with the amnio or cvs.. Please keep us updated sending love your way
I'm almost 8 weeks and getting a sharp stinging kind of pain in my cervix occasionally. Got a bit worried and googled it, apparently it's just stretching and expanding etc and pretty normal. Don't remember having these pains in cervix with first baby.
Try not to worry ladies about not having sore boobs, friends of mine have been the same and everything has been perfectly fine. Be thankful... My boobs are like hell to touch and my ds keeps leaning on them all the time whilst trying to climb me :'s.
@andipandicWed121369 as a care support worker, I assist showering lots of people. Alot of my clients use a shower seat either in the shower cubicle or in the bath, whatever type of shower you have. Maybe you could try getting a plastic stool to sit in the shower just so you are safe if you have a dizzy spell. Just a thought. Hope this soon stops for you.
@kate0506 I'm feeling pains too and my OB said it happens more every pregnancy you have so that's may be why you don't remember it happening last time.
