Baby purchases!

Re: Baby purchases!

  • @jlemons-2 I'm dying for one! I'm going to see if my local babywearing store has one on display.
  • Loading the player...
  • @ohmickey331 let me know how it goes. We definitely don't have a babywearing store here.
  • jlemons-2 Check to see if there is a BWI group in your area - mine has a FTG for people to come and try. You don't have to be a member to go to the meetings, only to check things out of the library!

    Me: 29  DH: 31
    Married 10/13/12
    TTC Since 8/2016

  • @lablover920 we did th https:// e same with our son, and I have more books that I know what to do with.  @txmomma16  Also check out Dolly Parton's imagination library.  If it's available in your area, they send a free book a month to your child til they are in kindergarten.

I haven't bought anything, but getting ready to start couponing/stocking up on diapers.
The free to grow Tula is on my list as well (even though we already own 3) Also waiting on finding out the sex because if this is a girl, I get to buy a new cuter one!

The only other thing I'm planning on getting is a new bag for all my pumping stuff at work.  Last time was awful, and so awkward.  I found one I love ( Pumping Bag ), it's just getting to the point where I need to actually just suck it up and buy it.

Other than that, waiting on sex to find out clothes.  But I'll need to stock up on tiny winter clothes after having two spring babies.

  • Thanks @Tennis11785 for the Target gift card suggestion. I bought my first one today!

@whiska  We were team green with the twins and the only clothes we got were onesies and sleepers we registered for.  We did however end up with a million blankets, so I ended up taking at least 6 of those back. Apparently if you don't know what to get someone clothes and blankets seem to win out!  We had a huge registry too with huge families, so thankfully we did manage to get all of the big necessary items we needed.

I also had a bump book with the twins and filled it out weekly. It's pretty cool to look back on.  MIL gifted me with another one, but I had already started the one I had so I kept it and will use that one for this pregnancy.  I highly recommend if you want a place to write down stuff about your pregnancy. You can get them for like $10 on amazon.  I gifted my cousin one when she found out she was pregnant and she was so happy she cried. :)

Nothing yet. Waiting for results of Harmony test before I can actually get truly excited. First thing I plan to get is after we can announce to my family - and it's a bassinet from my sister. She already said we can have it when we're ready, but I dont want it in my house until this is all out in the open!
  • @lablover920@breezybee you can find pretty much the exact same stuff on etsy. Granted it won't be cheap like lennylemons, but it's way better quality and usually coming from the states.

  • The first item was bought when we started TTC. I knew I wouldn't be able to wait to tell DH when we got BFP so I bought a onesie that has Newest Nationals Fan (his fav team) written on it. That's how I told him! Since then we have gotten a few bibs to surprise family (says things like I make grandma smile) and a box of diapers that had a great sale. We are waiting to find out sex before buying much else. Though I am itching to go register and look at everything baby!!

    EDD: Dec 20th
  • @sdLindenberg I've ordered a few things on etsy for DD and have loved them all!

I have some items in my cart from baby gap, now..
  • @moonlady-2 I totally get it. Myself also PGAL, I keep telling myself after my 12 weeks scan, I will be more excited! And I talk to my DH and MIL about wishing I had that still(pregnancy innocence) I haven't bought anything for the lil babe yet, but I sure look a lot when I'm in the stores by myself xoxo. When is your next appt.
  • My first purchase was a Batman onesie!!! No matter the sex we will put baby in it, even if we need to put a headband on  :D

  • *TW* Before last year's miscarriage, I had bought some newborn cloth diapers. *End TW*
That is all I currently have for the new baby so far. I am also (as a couple of you mentioned) eying the Tula FTG... but that would be farther down the line and I will need to convince DH that we need ANOTHER carrier
  • I was also team green first time around and only got a few unisex clothing items as gifts - most people went to my registry (which I wanted!) Contrast that to my friends who found out before their shower...a ton of gender-specific clothes. No biggie either way, just wanted to share my experience. The only thing I've bought already are more maternity clothes but I already know this is another girl and we have PLENTY of stuff already!

@vvitchhazel The paper airplanes are super cute!

A couple years ago I bought a set of wooden alphabet blocks (Uncle Goose) in German when I saw  them on sale. My DH actually used them to learn animal names, which amused me greatly, but they've been hidden in a dresser drawer waiting...

I also got a green onesie that says "Achievement: New Character Created" for DH as a Father's Day gift. He's a gamer, so I'm hoping it will make him smile.

I bought the baby a baby wrap (for wearing) and a blanket. (Aiden and anais dream blanket. I really love DD's.)
  • @nme44 I bought a wrap too. I couldn't help myself.

We haven't bought anything *yet*. For the most part we're set with gear from DD. I did however pick out a crib, DH isn't sold on it yet, but I love it! Before we got pregnant I was planning on making the spare room a *guest* room, basically a place for DH or I to sleep if we get sick, and I really wanted a metal framed bed, so this is the next best thing  B)

Thanks, me too, obvi!! I love that it can go into a full size bed when they are ready. I hope DH comes around.

I wonder if Buy Buy Baby still takes Bed Bath and Beyond coupons?

@bkrahn  LOL I had to look up Restoration Hardware, did not know that was a store. I found it searching metal cribs and it's at Buy Buy Baby a ton of online shops. Franklin & Ben Winston 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Vintage Iron 5 years ago BBB used to take 20% off coupons, I hope that is still the case.

  • @Kirss are you on Buy Buy Baby's email list? They always send me 20% off coupons.

@jlemons-2 I need to sign up again. ::Check:: Since DD is older and BBB is pretty far away, I had stopped them a while ago.

@rainbowdashh, what wrap did you get? Oscha had a Mother's Day sale...
  • @NME44 a friend of mine is a weaver, so it was a piece from her! I missed oscha's sale! I'm keeping an eye out for another firespiral to love.

I got DH a shirt that says Player 1 and a onesie that said Player 2 when I was preggo with DD, since he's a gamer. Got so many cute pics of them wearing their matching shirts :)

  • Oh man, I almost bought something. I went to Bloomingdales for various things, and I ended up cruising into the children's section for fun. They had the Uppababy Vista stroller that I'm getting - I wanted to test it out. Omg, I love it and I'm totally buying it in a few months. I need a small stroller that can hold two baby car seats and babies now. It'll work perfectly.
Anyway, while I was there, I saw these ADORABLE little moccasins in all sorts of cute colors and I wanted them so bad. I held out, though. Must stay strong.

Which weaver is your friend? I tried for a while to get a firespiral but no one ever wanted to trade one for anything (and for some reason I was never tempted enough to actually buy one.) lately, though, I've just decided to stick with Oscha, since I know I love the wraps and designs, and handwovens  :)
  • The weaver at Mountain Girl!

One of of my most favorite wraps is a fispi. I got it before my second was born, sold it, then bought it back from that person last summer. It's so thin and perfect. Have you ever tried oscha bamboo? I've heard it's amazing for squishes.

     :o  :o:o:o

I met Stacey at IBC! She was really sweet. Never had the chance to try one of her pieces, though I was really tempted by the bird one she just did in those soft blues. Which piece do you have???

i have tried my friend's Roses Anya. I'm not big on it...I prefer grippier. My favorite wraps are Oscha's wild silk. And the weaver I have most of is Robbins Nest. The wrap for this baby I bought is Roses Capricorn (tencel...needs a wash to soften up I think).

i wonder if we'd recognize each other in the wrap world  :p

Edit to spell Stacey's name correctly.

I love oscha wild silk. I had starry night nebula and loved it.

Im going to pm you lol
