  • @ChocolateIsLife glad to hear it went well! I'm not so sure about mine. He put things on the test that we didn't touch too much on in class, and things I spent a long time reviewing weren't even on the test. I'm pretty sure I still passed the class but probably not my best test score.

@mrs_fogue that's annoying. I have a bunch of traveling maternity clothes too, and it's been a pain this time around. My friend who had them most recently just had her baby like a week ago and wasn't ready to get rid of them, but I'm at the point where I needed them, so we had to divvy them up. I feel selfish not sharing them, but some of the stuff I loved from my first pregnancy had been lost or is too worn at this point, which erks me a little too.

  • @beezeemarie I feel like by the time I had them last (5 pregnancy) some of them were getting warn.  That's why I made a point to add a little more than normal to it and had bought some new items this time to add to the stash.  Unfortunately she's not getting those.  Thank goodness it's not for her to wear yet.
  • @ksf13 Unfortunately I think it's a local joint....but sooooo good. Congrats on your DD getting accepted!

So I meant to add this to my appointment post , but I found out today I'm not immune to rubella and will need a vaccine after birth. Now I'm a little upset with my parents because they dropped the ball somewhere. But I'm also a little mad at science/testing because this was somehow never mentioned to me with my previous pregnancies. So here I am freaking out praying I don't get sick from now until then. Also found out I'm GBS positive. Which I had when I was pregnant with DD2 and got an antibiotic after she was born. Dr today mentioned they will test me again about 4 weeks before my due date because it can go away on its own apparently. Oh what fun (sarcasm)

  • @canonmom413 if you were GBS+, you should have had antibiotics while you were in labor. Baby can contract it when passing through the birth canal and it can cause problems. I wasn't positive with my first, but was with my last two. My office doesn't test until 30 something weeks, but I'm not holding out hope that it's gone away since it's been 6 years since DS was born and I had it then. Its super stressful since with both those babies, I didn't have enough time to get both doses of antibiotics by the time I was fully dilated. I literally had to hold DD2 in for an hour so I could get the rest of the last dose
  • @sjohns908 yes it was during labor, my mistake.  They tested me at my 13 week appt when I got my pap etc. they said it's common to have it again if you've hadn't it once.

  • @canonmom413 gotcha. That's weird they would test that soon. I've had paps at early prenatal appointments but they wait for the GBS test until a few weeks before your due date. I've known a few people to have it once and then it's gone with their next. But I'm not holding out hope for myself lol

@canonmom413 they may not have!  I was deemed "not immune" for rubella when I was pregnant with DS, even though my mom had my immunization record to prove it. They told me that it could be two things - that because of my age, I didn't get the recommended second dose (cause they didn't do that in the early 80s) and that messed with the test or I could be one of the few people for whom the titer test is invalid.

It happened again with this pregnancy but because they had my record plus the booster I got after DS, they consider me immune regardless of what the titers say.

@shan24.  I was told I was not immune to Rubella when i had my bloodwork done for this pregnancy.  Told me I would have to get a shot after I deliver.  My mom has my records as well showing I got what I should have.   Glad I'm not the only one!

  • Phew so glad it's fairly common. I guess it could be an age thing. We're roughly the same age here i believe (I'm 30).

@canonmom413. Yeah, I'm 32.  I asked a friend who works in public health about it and he says it happens sometimes even if you have all the right shots.  Bodies do weird things.  There just better not be an outbreak of Rubella or else I am going to freak!

@canonmom413 @JessDG I'm 38, so a little older than you guys, but I don't think they started 2 doses until 1990 or something like that.
