Newbie with an April due date

Hi Destination ladies! I'm a recent newlywed who spent some time on the destination board during my engagement, although I lurked more than I posted. I'm expecting Baby #1 (pregnancy #2) around April 27th.
MH and I decided to TTC right after the wedding, because we found out last year that I have a rare uterine anomaly that puts me at risk for lots of badness--early and late miscarriage, IUGR, malpresentation, and preterm labor. The specialist we met with before we got married told us that he didn't see any reason why I couldn't get pregnant but that it might be hard for me to stay pregnant. He was right. We conceived almost right away, but unfortunately there was no heartbeat on our first ultrasound and I miscarried shortly after. It was tough, mostly because it seemed to confirm our fears that we would never have a normal pregnancy.
Good news is that we are pregnant again. We had our first ultrasound last week, and we had a heartbeat! I know we have a long way to go, but I've decided to adopt a cautiously optimistic attitude and not stress out about all the things that can go wrong. We have a great maternal fetal medicine specialist, and we're taking it one day at a time.
Well, that was a long introduction. Wishing happy, healthy babies for all the mamas, easy breezy pregnancies for everyone knocked up, and lots and lots of luck to those TTC.

Hey girl!!! Congrats and I'll be praying for a beautiful sticky baby for ya!
Just letting you know that my little Mari was an IUGR baby - she was suspected IUGR in the womb, but never confirmed until after birth. All my doctor kept saying was that she was going to do better outside the womb, than in! And sure enough, she was born at 5lbs 8 oz (at 39weeks1day) and in the 3rd percentile for weight and the 12th for height. She caught up VERY quickly and is now in the 85th percentile for both weight and height! There was no ever answer as to why this happened, although she did have the cord wrapped twice around her neck, but they don't believe it had been compressed for an extended period of time.
Moral of the story, have hope!! We all gotcha back and will be here for you!

Hi Kellie! I still used to visit the DW board after my wedding so I remember you. Congrats and lots of ::::: vibes :::::: for a happy and healthy 9 months for you and the little guy or girl.
I'm not sure if you saw it or not, but I post the weekly check in every Tuesday morning that lists all of our PG, Mom and TTC girls where we all try to check in each week with what's going on. Let me know if you want me to add you.

I got pregnant with an IUD in place, and had to have it removed and have ultrasounds early on to make sure everything was okay as far as the baby being implanted in my uterus and not somewhere else. Then, I had to have a second opinion ultrasound done because my new doctor wanted to rule out that one of the many cysts on my left ovary was actually not just a cyst, but something implanted incorrectly. Needless to say, it was a lot of nervousness from not planning to be pregnant at the time, to being pregnant and wanting everything to be okay, to mass chaos internally trying to understand it all. Like Cristina said, just hope for the best and never give up that hope.
