Re: Symptoms 5/8

  • Constipation issues! Ugh and I'm doing everything the Dr says to do. Having side and front hip pressure as well. I think Ava is starting to drop. It's been a fun last 3 days! Haha

Can anyone truly explain the difference between peeing my pants and leaking amniotic fluid? I know it smells sweet and is supposed to be clear, but I'm very nervous I will be leaking amniotic fluid for hours before I realize I'm not just peeing my pants more often that day.
This is my constant fear. With my first, he broke the bag of waters around 3am and the only way I could tell was that I was feeling like I had to pee every 3 minutes, no contractions, no gush of water... but we went in anyway.  My second is so low that I feel like I have to pee all.the.time and there's more discharge with her than I had with DS1... I constantly fear that I'm leaking amniotic fluid and wont' know it.
  • @Waiting4Fred @kyreno11 - I'm still taking diclegis 1x/day. I also gave up on trying to stop.

My major symptom this week is the pubic bone pain - SPD I think.  It's been developing for a couple weeks, but last night it was the worst!  Every time I moved in bed it was excruciating and rolling over (never mind the whole turtle on my back experience) was SO painful.  I think I read from someone last week that there's pretty much nothing to do about it :s  I have the belly band, but it does nothing.

I have SPD pain as well that started last Thursday. Saw my OB yesterday and she basically said slow down. I'm usually a fast paced person so that advice is super hard to take. She also said stop doing things that irritate the pain.... if I could only stop getting dressed, getting out of the car, or rolling over in bed, lol! If it gets bad enough she said they can send me to PT twice a week and she said a pelvic support belt may help. She also said this will most likely continue for 6 ish weeks post delivery
  • @mtvkv5 I got the "slow down" advice, too. It feels impossible while teaching and still being a mom to two kids. I've also found that the more I lay around, the worse it hurts when I actually get up!

@huzzahuzza & @kyreno11 I am honestly worried and wondering the same thing. Sometimes I feel little gushes throughtout the day, but never constant. I asked my oh and she said she is not worried about it unless it is leaking down my leg.... I plan to ask her next wk when she does the gbs to check it with the swab and make sure it's not amniotic fluid. Ugh so scary

  • Had a labor scare today. I was getting tons of contractions this evening. 4 min apart, 1-2 min long, for an hr. I'm only 34 weeks so I was totally panicked. Finally we decided to call my midwife and tell her and she told me to drink water, take a bath and go to bed. She said don't worry, the baby isn't coming and to relax. Laying in bed now and somehow it worked. She put me on pelvic rest and told me to do bedrest too if I feel like I need it.
This is getting way too real!

My midwives said they can generally tell over the phone by talking to a patient during a contraction if it's the real thing or not, so I'm not too surprised by her being correct. Though that's definitely scary and I'm sure you were hesitant to believe her when she said not to worry.

I think this is pretty common advice. My midwives say the same thing. If you're dehydrated, that can cause the muscles to contract. If you're trying to get rid of contractions, do the opposite of whatever you were doing. Go for a walk if you've been lying down for a while, rest if you've been active. And yea, the whole relaxing in a bath or shower thing.
  • So it turns out that was the baby dropping. I don't remember dd dropping so it probably happened during labor. But omg. Last night it wasn't just the contractions that got me freaked I was also feeling sick like I was going to throw up and I had the runs (sorry tmi) and that's exactly how I felt the day dd was born. Turns out that also can happen when you drop and it can stick around for a few days. I woke up still feeling sick, but he is way lower now. So warning to all those that haven't dropped yet, I had never heard of this!
  • 34 weeks and for the last week I've been feeling sick like I did during the first trimester. I didn't have this during my last 3 pregnancies. I already feel pretty useless around the house and this isn't helping at all. My hubby is a trooper but after working all day he is worn out. 5 weeks left that's what I keep reminding myself....5 weeks.

This is how I feel today and after yesterday and the labor scare, my midwife put me on bedrest this morning. At least through the weekend. So you might want to call your dr and let them know. I'm 34 too.
  • @Kylieslip24
I think you're right and I should give the doctor a call. Normally after I eat I feel a little better but not lately. I've been feeling a lot of pelvic pain as well.

Hopefully resting will help you feel better and baby doesn't try to make an exit this soon....these babies are too little to make their debut.
  • @JennMof3 definitely rest up the best you can too. I know that's hard with 3 kids, but always listen to your body, you might just need some rest.

Lightening crotch in the worst way. Way too frequent. Like kid, whatever you are doing down there... STOP!
god, been feeling this more and more frequently too! feels like the little man is spinning on his head or something! is this a sign of him dropping? i keep waiting for some sort of a sign that he's getting into place and of course, have no clue at all!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Does anyone else feel like they are going through a massive hormone surge?  My face broke out worse than it's been this entire pregnancy and my gums have started bleeding every night.  So strange!

Started crying in Costco today because I couldn't remember everything we needed. Now I'm irrationally angry because DS1 has a lot of energy I don't have. Emotional rollercoaster over here!!

I no longer have ankles, just stumps for legs! I noticed tonight as I had been on my feet all day and my feet were killing me so Hubby offered to massage my feet and we couldn't stop laughing at them  :D
He said I have "cankles". Umm .. thanks, I feel great - not!  :p

The joys of pregnancy! I honestly wonder how my Hubby still finds me attractive right now lol
