@mrsrep123: That's the craziest turn of events! And it probably all happened in like 2 seconds flat. It stinks you had to go through all the monitoring but better safe than sorry, right? Keep us posted.
Thanks ladies. They monitored me for 4 hours and had an official ultrasound done. We, the baby, the placenta, and me, are just fine. Whew!
I just got home and will wake DS up to make sure he's easily arousable. Then I'm raiding the kitchen. I haven't eaten since 3 this afternoon and could only have liquids while in L&D just in case...
@mrsrep123 oh jeez! I am so sorry for the series of events that took place. I'm glad to hear you and baby are doing well. I hope DS is okay too and just a bit banged up. How scary!
@mrsrep123 yikes! What a crazy eventful afternoon/night you had! Glad to hear you and baby are good! Hope DS is as well! Sounds like you all need a day of rest and relaxation.
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
My new town does this "pay as you throw" program where recycling is free and you pay to dispose of just the waste you generate by buying special Borough bags. I think it's a pretty cool program because it encourages you to waste less, but I have a 10 day old baby and lots of trash from moving. I really don't want to run out in the rain today and figure out where to buy these bags.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
@kns1988 so does that mean you dont get to throw anything away without paying? My town does something similar but we get to put out two bags once each week. Anything over that is $2/bag.
Thanks again Ladies. DS was easily arousable last night and is acting like his normal self this morning. And I agree, we all just need a relaxing, injury-free day... even though I still want to go and get LO' s coming home outfit, lol. Oh and pack my hospital bag
@mrsrep123 what a relief you're back to normal today!
i woke up to find the remains of DH eating ALL our leftover pizza last night and I nearly cried. Boo hormones. But today I'm going to have breakfast on the beach while DD is at preschool, so take that, pizza-eater!
Things have gone all to hell in my house/life recently. Here is my current list of broken things/ issues:
1. We had to replace the "starter" (or something like that) in our AC a few weeks ago. 2. 3 of the 4 burners on our glass stove top stopped working and we had to have a repair guy out to fix it last week. 3. My over-the-stove microwave runs just fine, but the door is slowly falling apart. Right now, several parts and some internal foam are are just hanging off of it. I'm sure I'm radiating my family and unborn child. 4. Our 1 yr old dishwasher keeps giving us an error message and stopping mid-cycle, which means we have to drain it. It may or may not be fixed right now as DH thought he unclogged anything that might be causing it. 5. I already posted this on the FB group, but one of DD's convertible seats was broken. For the last 2 weeks, we've had to move the other seat in between our cars to accommodate various transportation schedules. After some back and forth with Graco, I was able to get a free replacement, which I received yesterday. 6. Our garage door motor went out today when DH was leaving to take the dog to the vet. 7. My dog was just diagnosed with some sort of hip disease, arthritis, and 2 torn ACLs (due to the disease). It sounds like it will be pain management for the rest of her life (she's 7). 8. I've been in close proximity to 2 different people who have influenza in the last week. 9. I'm being induced on Tues if I don't go before then.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Oh. My. Gosh!! That sounds awful! For your dishwasher is it over the year mark? Did you buy a protection plan? Out of all that I would say at least the air is fixed. Everything else can be avoided such as ordering delivery and using paper plates and such so no dishes but dang! Sorry you are going through that. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend before baby comes Tuesday.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Wow, that is horrible. I'm sorry you are dealing with all this. I hope this is the end of that bad cycle and it will all turn around once that squishy baby arrives.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot I hear you on life piling on. Sorry your kitchen seems out to destroy your soul, I think this means takeout is in order! Thai sounds really good right now....
Sorry about your pup. We are in a similar situation with my two 8 year olds and Rimadyl is cheap and generally excellent. If that doesn't work as well ask about Previcox. It is a bit $$$ but for my guy that has fallen out of a car on a highway and had 3 knee surgeries it makes him like brand new.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot Oh, man. You poor girl, seriously. I'd have had a full blown nervous breakdown.
1, 2, &6: Yuck. Can you replace the microwave? 3. Can you replace the microwave? 4. I hope DH was able to fix it! If not, is it under warranty? 5. Glad Graco (finally) got you a replacement. 6. Have you talked to the vet about surgery for the torn ACLs? My two dogs have torn both of their ACLs (about to go pick up one fro surgery today), and they are very repairable. The arthritis can be treated with vitamins (glucosamine) and pain management. Does she seem to be in a lot of pain all the time? Some dogs are really good at coping with their aging process. I'm so sorry you're finding this all out now, what terrible timing. I hope she's still able to play and be happy. 7. I hate people. Hopefully you don't get sick! 8. I hope baby comes before Tuesday! And if not, at least you have a plan for which you can prepare. And think of all the donuts/cake/cheetos/non-GD foods you can eat soon!!
I also forgot to add that DD has apparently been a terror at school. She's spit on her teacher and told a friend that their drawing "was yucky and their daddy wouldn't like it." Oy.
I think we have most of the appliance issues under control. If not, my parents arrive tomorrow and I'll let them take care of us.
@jayandaplus We discussed surgery with the vet. He said that since it was likely due to the disease, he didn't recommend it as it wouldn't "fix" the issue. She actually doesn't seem to be in much pain. She has a slightly harder than normal time getting up from laying down or going up the stairs. She was limping a few days ago, but that went away. I really only took her in because in a previous visit, the vet had mentioned that she might have bad knee caps (or something like that) and I was worried that's what it was. The vet thought she'd do well with prescription food or over the counter supplements. She'll get anti-inflammatories for a week whenever she has a flare up.
Ok what's the deal with baby powder? At our childcare class they said not to use it bc baby could inhale. I figured we would use if needed. Then I saw an article on the bump about it might cause cancer?? So do you use it or not use it? If not what else do you use?
@SWE2 our childbirth prep class instructor said not to, the the fine dust can be linked to cancer or lung issues later in life so we are passing on it. However I'm sure all of our moms used it all the time?
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot what a horrible kitchen! I was gong to suggest setting it on fire and trying again, but having your parents take care of it sounds like a more reasonable solution.
However I just found a quote that says "It’s also worth pointing out that the American Academy of Pediatrics
does not recommend using baby powder on babies in between diaper changes
― not because of the potential link between powder and cancer, but
because babies could inhale the fine particles and damage their lungs."
