I got up to pee at 3:30, too! Drank a little bit of water and felt him move around and went back to bed. Then Hershall's alarm went off, even though he actually has today off, probably around 6 maybe then the dog was like yep it's time to get up around 6:40...so he takes her out, I get her food ready, and fluff the laundry from the night before and laid back down. Still haven't gotten back to sleep and now the dog is whining to get on the bed. I give up lol guess I'll be taking a nap later! I should just get up anyway to out the breakfast casserole in the overnight and get ready to see a friend of mine who I haven't seen since October! She was pregnant then too and due in February but ended up having her little guy in November! Excited to catch up with her!

What do you ladies think about regular contractions that are mild or tolerable but super consistent? I've been going about every 1 minute, 7 ish minutes apart, for about 5 hours. Woke me up out of sleep at 2 am, but eventually I fell back asleep lightly. They have continued since I've been up. This isn't my first rodeo, and I by no means feel like I'm in labor. Guess I'll just see how the day's activities affect it?
@mrstgb: At what point does your doc say you should call in or go in? Conventional wisdom says like 6 contractions an hour; if they are regular, timeable, and rest doesn't affect their intensity or frequency; and if an hour or two of consistency has passed. To me, it seems as though you might meet that criteria and you should at least call and tell someone.
If it's not your first pregnancy, then things can change from "mild and tolerable" to "omg I should be at the hospital right now" very quickly.
Such a long to do list this weekend! Includes getting crib up, car seat bases installed, lots of cleaning and these types of things! MIL and DH are taking DD to the zoo this a.m. so I'm supposed to be getting a lot of the major cleaning off the list so they can come do the bigger stuff later. But apparently I'm going to start off by spending at least a half hour researching and ordering drawer dividers for dd's socks and underwear drawer for pickup from my nearest The Container Store... priorities.
I've had a few 'episodes' of contractions far more painful and regular that always stop short of the hour mark. My OB has essentially said I'll know when I know. We only live about 5-10 mins from our hospital, so there's that going for me!
@mrstgb I don't recall how far along you are (and on mobile so can't see a ticker) but general rule of thumb if you are over 35 weeks is 5-1-1: contractions every 5 minutes, lasting 1 minute long, consistently for 1 hour that are painful enough that you have to stop what you are doing when you have one. But of course if you live a distance from a hospital, have a history of fast labors, etc then listen to your body.
ETA if you are under 35 weeks then the 6 contractions an hour rule that @SKZW said is true.
@mrstgb I'd call. Just FYI, I went from mildly uncomfortable contractions 7ish minutes apart to having my baby in less than 3 hours! (Not saying that's what will happen with you, obviously, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to call your OB. They have enough practice talking to women in labor that they can sometimes just tell from how you're talking while having a contraction whether you need to go in or not. Which is a pretty cool superpower )
Mom brain over here, someone remind me: can the baby be swaddled in bed? I remember hearing "nothing but the baby on their own flat surface" but cannot remember if a swaddle blanket is okay. I've got the aden+anais ones so they are breathable but still want to get another opinion
@chailife34: Yes a swaddle is okay! Just make sure it's nowhere near the face. We used the swaddle from the hospital for awhile, then the aden (so soft!), and then landed on the swaddle me swaddles b/c of the velcro (much more snug than our lame-ass skills could manage, lol).
Thanks @skzw the swaddle me swaddles are so awesome but Isaac broke out of it last night in record time! Maybe when he's a little bigger it'll work better. Thanks for the reassurance
@mrstgb I'd call. How're you now? @chailife34 Yes, swaddle in crib is fine. Baby still sleeps on his back, and make sure swaddle isn't loose to morph into just a blanket.
After trying to keep meds to a minimum all pregnancy, I have sinus unpleasantness that I just can't seem to kick. A Z-pack didn't put a dent in it, and my OB gave me something stronger when I saw her yesterday (and encouraged OTC meds in addition). She also said, "You're still a little anemic, but what pregnant woman isn't?" which isn't terribly reassuring with a major surgery on the horizon! So for now, my pill regimen looks like this... (and my husband told me I was making our baby a pot-head)
AM: Prenatal, Protonix (heartburn), ABO, Zyrtec D Lunch: Probiotic (to combat the ABO!) PM: extra iron pill, ABO, Benadryl
I'm OVER it! And, I had the horrifying thought... What if I am still a snot factory and have to be blowing my nose and hacking up a lung AFTER being cut open?! That would really be the icing on the cake.
Got great news at the hospital today! Jay is maintaining his body temperature for the 2nd day in a row and he gained a little bit of weight. They think they're going to discharge us tomorrow. He's been more alert and feeding wonderfully. They finally put him in a real PJ outfit instead of keeping him bundled in the heavy fleece velcro swaddle, and he's still maintaining his temp.
In the meantime, I have my mother in law at my old house finishing up the last bit of the packing for our move at 9 AM tomorrow, my family is at the new house doing some cleaning, and my husband is at the camp organizing baby things and putting together the crib that he bought last night. My mom even talked to our new neighbors and paid their twin boys to mow our lawn at the new house. My family is beyond incredible.
Small rant: I don't like my nurse very much today. She keeps putting a big blanket in his bassinet (which is right next to me, so I just take it out). He has access to his arms now and has a strong startle reflex in his sleep, so I don't like the idea of a blanket in the bassinet. She also is kind of condescending even though I know she's just trying to be helpful. I've been here for 5 days and have been feeding him 8 times a day... she doesn't have to explain to me how to wake him up when he falls asleep at the nipple.

@kns1988 great news!! And what great family. We're also blessed with an amazing family and it makes such a huge difference in times like this! hard to imagine moving and bringing home a baby at the same time!! But sounds like you're set up for success. Keep the updates coming!
@chailife34 and @kns1988 I love hearing about the new littles! I'm glad things are going well for both of you.
I've been in crazy cleaning/nesting mode since yesterday (I feel like I'm hopped up on caffeine right now!). Ever since hearing the baby is in position, I've been scrambling to make sure we're good to go...even though I know it could still very well be 4 more weeks (or more, bleck). I do have this feeling she might show up a bit early, but who knows.
In other news, I ended up getting my Spectra pump today! I was just complaining on Wednesday, I think, about it being a longer process than I thought. @SWE2 and whoever else mentioned this, I guess it was way faster than they said after all. Glad to have that checked off my list, too.
I'm so tired of peeing. It's like if I don't drink enough water I get contractions then if my bladder gets full I get contractions then as soon as I pee- another contraction. All Braxton Hicks but still uncomfortable!
@kns1988 that's great news, glad to hear he is progressing well.
@chailife34 we were told in the NICU that when swaddling with blankets, to swaddle under the arms only, leaving the arms out. I really like the Halo Swaddle more than the swaddleme.
@chailife34 the Velcro on the Halo swaddle sleepsacks seems a lot stronger then the Velcro in the swaddle me maybe Isaac wouldn't be able to break free of them.
Today is H's bday! We went to dunkins, grocery shopping, then I got my bikini wax and nails done while he naps and then fancy dinner with the family tonight! I really want to go to to this local market event, but I'm not sure if we will have time. If not, hopefully tomorrow.
@nda_roxybabe dang a bikini wax?! I was planning on getting a Brazilian but with my SPD pain I cannot imagine anymore pain/ having to have my legs open. Was it awful med/alcohol free? I usually take some ibuprofen and have a glass or two of wine while there.

SITB
THIS! Plus it felt like LO burrowed even further down making it even more uncomfortable. I think this was the first time I've felt him moving while having BAd. I thought is it possibly go time?? Thankfully not. I laid down and my ute softened. But every time I rolled or changed positions... BH. Ha, I said I was in beast-nesting-mode yesterday, it's a step up from that today! So happy to finally be getting sh!t done around here!
@kns1988 Awesome update about Jay AND what an awesome family you have!
@erinh2005 Ooh, I forgot about the container store! I hope my BF makes it out tomorrow so we can go to Crossroads and sell my stuff AND got up the container store!
I'm currently sitting in a hotel room with DD balling next to me. We're hoping the wind dies down by the time she wakes up so we can get a little pool time in. We had breakfast with some friends from out of town tonight and are going to their house for a birthday party tonight. Then our last Disneyland trip tomorrow before baby comes and we renew our passes.
Next week I'm hoping to get everything else ready for baby. I still need some decorations for the kids' room and to pack my hospital bag and a bag for DD for my mom's. Our shower is also next weekend so I hope to get all of that stuff set up too.
@JayandTay09@Squirtgun and all the other people who replied..... I ended up at L and D after a good solid half hour of close together contractions mid morning after being up and around. They didn't stop but I got sent home anyway because my cervix wanted nothing to do with being accessible apparently. Had me walk around and drink water which I promptly threw up (sorry for the TMI). Nurse was worried baby might be face up, which is same as my first. So hands and knees stretches, rest, and wait to see.

@chailife34 have you tried the zip up swaddle pods? I think they are NB sized but awesome for those first few weeks.

@kns1988 I'm so glad Jay is doing well! You're so lucky to have all that great help from your family as well.
@nda_roxybabe you are a much braver woman than I! There is no way I would attempt waxing anywhere down there at this point.
