We went to the Pediatric ER over the weekend after LO fell off the changing table while H was watching her. Baby is fine but I think H may be permanently scarred.

Oh no! Glad your LO is ok. I worry about this happening all the time.
@jsmai So glad LO is okay and maybe DH will only be temporarily scarred. This happened to me with ODD but I caught her before the full floor impact. DH didn't let me forget for a while but she turned out okay.
maybe this is more for the venting/confession but I'm feeling sad for my niece, She is a chubby kid although it isn't terrible - I mean you can easily see she is chubby but it isn't like omg. I was a chubby kid and well ok always have been and it sucks so I feel for her even though thus far she doesn't seem to notice. I asked my bro her size because I know he can always use clothes for her so I was going to add some outfits for her birthday coming up and he said 14/16 - for an almost 8 year old Her eating habits aren't good, and I see it at my parents' house when we have family celebrations where she will have more dessert or snacks than even I would. I feel badly because sometimes I catch myself making a comment about her getting another cookie or whatever though it isn't when she can hear. I know I hone in on it because I see myself in her and I don't want her to deal with it. I also worry about my own LO since we have the short/fat genetics and I don't want him to be big at snacking like me. So really it is all about me and my issues
@kvruns I worry about that with LO too. All the women in my family are short and heavy so I'm fighting those genes also. I've been able to stay fairly fit but that is because I work at it ALL the time with watching what I eat and exercising. Maybe you could talk to your brother about getting her outside more and being more active. Or having her join something recreational like sports or dance. As parents, H and I want to be very cognizant about the food we will give LO as she's growing up and making sure she stays active.

I think she is decently active, she does karate and softball right now and likes to run around and play although I don't know how much of that happens since after a long day of work it is probably hard to motivate yourself to go play with the kid a lot. I think it is the whole you can't out exercise what you eat - that is my problem too. Even my pre-baby working out a ton (marathons, group fitness classes, etc) I've never been able to shed it all since I don't eat great.
Her mom has started a fitness routine and has been losing weight so I hope that her being more conscious will help too.
Waiting on a call from the Dr but my baby has all the symptoms of RSV. We are relaxing at home now and hoping it's just a little cold. I think I'm struggling just about as much as him cause it sucks to see him not feeling well so I'm really just trying to soak up all the snuggles.
We use the buckle and our bodies to block her from rolling off (which she tries to do too). She fell by pushing her hips up and scooting herself toward where her head lies and went down head first. We have a changing pad secured on top of a dresser so there isn't anything around the pad to box her in. We will be remedying that shortly or else we'll be changing her on the floor from now on.

I'm glad baby girl is okay! I was always paranoid about doing that... when my little guy was like 4 days old I dropped him from the couch to the floor. I scooped him up and just kept a close eye on him the rest of the night all while crying to myself that I might have hurt him. It took me like a month to fess up to my husband and I think it's because I would have been so mad if he had been the one to drop him. Such is life . Kids are much tougher than we realize!
Ok, so it's pretty much impossible these days to get pictures of LO that aren't blurry but he's been working on getting up on his hands and knees! It's crazy how fast he's growing!

I dropped my phone on LOs face early on. I was holding it looking at stuff and fell asleep and it fell out of my hand. I felt soooo bad.
I punched M in the face after nursing him once. I was trying to pull down my sports bra and my hand slipped and popped him in the face. I also felt really really bad but he was fine lol
@kvruns RSV is basically a respiratory virus and there's nothing they can really do for it. He's running a little bit of a fever. He's coughing (wet cough), stuffy/runny nose. It can mimic a common cold but it can also turn pretty bad and put them in the hospital. The Dr office never called today with the results so I'm calling them first thing in the morning and letting them have a piece of my mind.
We left the Dr this morning with instructions to go directly to the children's hospital if he gets worse but so far we have been able to keep it under control.
I once almost dropped a drop of essential oil (I think it was cedarwood?) Right in LO's mouth because I thought it was his vitamin D drop. The bottles look the same. I even remember thinking I have to make sure its the D drop, since they look the same. I dripped it on his chin and smelled it immediately. We were really worried and I was crying and freaking out. Called poison control and they said he'd likely be fine, he probably would have cried or reacted somehow if it had actually gotten in his mouth. I hate those kinds of mistakes. Thankfully he was indeed just fine. I've also dropped my phone on his head. Glad to know others make mistakes too!
I accepted a job offer and I start two weeks from today! So, so, so bittersweet. I've been with my current company for four years and I've met some of my bestest friends there. Sigh. I think it's a great move but when is starting a new job ever not stressful?

Congrats! It is tough, I left my last job almost 4 years ago and had a great group of friends there so it was tough to leave. My current job is a way better environment for work although I haven't made the kind of friends like my last one which stinks.
Are you in a similar area of TOWN (edit, not similar area of TIME lol)
I'm wide awake and have been for an hour. LO is asleep. WHy the F can I not sleep. Kind of a lost cause at this point since I have to get up in 1.5 hours
@tigerfish227 Hope your LO is doing better. Keep us posted with the results.
@hoosiermama Congrats! I just applied for a new job and am hoping it works out. If I do get it I will be leaving my current place after 4 years here as well.

M has starated getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth! Super adorable. Too early to be a sign of getting ready to crawl? When does that happen??
i thought it as early stages but my mom talked me out of it. She has a niece with a daughter a few months older then M so she compares all time lines to hers. She was 8.5 months before crawling so she thinks there's no way M is trying.
@SandNStarsNJ oh no!! Hopefully he fever breaks soon. Poor thing.

My nephew didn't crawl until he was 8 months, then was walking 2 weeks later. Prior to actually crawling, he would rock back and forth on his hands and knees, just couldn't quite go anywhere. He pulled up on everything and doing everything but crawling. He could scoot. Babies do things at their own pace, theres not much use comparing them.

And we are in the hospital for the night. V decided he didn't want to latch this evening so we tried a bottle and he only took about an ounce before freaking out hysterically. He hasn't been eating well today anyways so that combined with the wheezing coming back and the excessive coughing and crying... We went to the ER. They want to keep us overnight so I'm camped out at the hospital with my mom while DH is at home with my SSs. He will be back in the morning after taking them to school but I told him that they needed him too so mom came to stay with me.
I'm having a really tough time keeping it together with all the stuff hooked up to my baby but we are getting better and resting now.
