@natleilynn Haha, at least you like chips and salsa. DH's family is originally from Mexico and they have a Mexican restaurant. I married into the right family haha. I LOVE basically all Mexican food, authentic and Americanized (with LOADS of cilantro lol)
UO (FFFC?): An English muffin with PB, two slices of cold leftover pizza, and two Oreos is a perfectly acceptable and nutritious breakfast for a pregnant woman.
@keriflores yes! I'm the same way with the video games. It's generally my time to go watch the Bachelor or whatever terrible tv show I'm into at the time and I don't have to worry about DH bugging me haha
The only time it bugs me is if he's playing and I'm making dinner, and I tell him dinners ready, but he can't come eat because he can't save his game right there. Then I don't care about him. Then I'm mad. Lol
I barely have time to keep up with everything going on in this BMB, who has time posting and keeping up with multiple boards?!?
My opinion for the day is if you take your kid somewhere to play, have the respect to help clean up! We went to the library today and they put out toys after story time and I'm amazed at how many parents leave the place looking like a total mess. I understand kids are still playing, but at least attempt to clean up or teach your child to clean up when you're done playing. My son threw a fit when I told him it was time to clean up, but we didn't leave until he did it.

I'm not a gamer, but when DH and I were first together, he did a lot of international travel and had weird work hours. He was addicted to an online game that required him to check in multiple times per day to have any success. He very sweetly asked me to check-in and do certain tasks when he could not. I was always delighted to do it; it was a small window into his brain and something that I could do to make him happy. He is not much of a gamer anymore, but he and I are working hard to take care of each other and our family, so why not have free time to do whatever you like?

DH is a SAHD and my UO is that everyone has to have an opinion about it. If you're not paying my bills or taking care of my child then please STFU. Which actually goes for pretty much everyone's career/life arrangements lol.
ETA: this is actually probably a popular opinion now that I think of it and more of just a rant.
I love all the food people have said so far - especially mexican food & oreos. But I absolutely hate cheez-its & goldfish. Both of those are my DS's favorite foods so we always have them in the house and he always tries to feed them to me.
@keriflores My DH used to be a big gamer and I guess he still is, but he has moved from the computer to his phone. I don't mind that he plays except now that it is on his phone, he does it all the time...everywhere!
UO (FFFC?): An English muffin with PB, two slices of cold leftover pizza, and two Oreos is a perfectly acceptable and nutritious breakfast for a pregnant woman.
@dumbledoredies I'm right there with you on the fish topic. HATE. IT. My doctor told me i should be eating salmon twice a week now that I'm pregnant ( i have a new doctor now lol) but I tried. And threw up every time. Have you tried to eat something you already absolutely despise when you're pregnant?! It doesn't end well.
Dammit guise!! I was waiting for this thread today to give my UO regarding doctors and of course it had to be brought up already
My UO is that I don't just go by whatever my Dr tells me, I have started to do my own research. Now, I understand the whole "if you don't trust them, find another dr" argument. But my issue stems from the new OB at my practice. I have been at this place for almost 7 years and I love love love them.
So I have migraines. They give you a "safe list" of meds at your first appointment and one of those is Tylenol with Codeine for headaches. I have never had an issue in my last two pregnancies getting a script for it from the other Dr's. But this new OB is the first one I have dealt with this pregnancy and so I had to go through her. She wasn't going to prescribe it for me and instead pushed me to take Fioricet, which has caffeine and creates a vicious cycle of headaches for me. She didn't seem to care about that. Just kept pushing it. Plus, it's a category c drug. As is the tylenol 3 she wouldn't prescribe me. I had to push back, hard, to get it. Finally got her to give in.
I've expressed my success with Imitrex, but she insisted I had to stop taking it as soon as I got my bfp. It's a category c. Again, so is the Fioricet she keeps pushing. Neither of these two meds has any known or proven issues. I've even read medical journals that say most OBs actually prefer Imitrex during pregnancy over Fioricet because Fioricet is a narcotic, while Imitrex is not. Not to mention, if I take an Imitrex, it usually always Knicks my migraine out within an hour or less. If I take other meds, I'm taking them every 4 hours for 3-4 days and then I have caffeine withdrawl headaches. Soooo 1 or 2 Imitrex or over a dozen other pulls, plus daily headaches now from the caffeine...
Anyways, long story short here, I have definitely stopped just listening and not questioning because of all of this.
@nbcarlson My DH says ALL THE TIME that he would die to be able to be a SAHD. Unfortunately we need both of our salaries so neither one of us will be staying home with this kiddo. He also makes double what I do, so I'm not sure his dream will ever come true...I wish he could though! I think whatever you guys decide is best for your family is no one else's business.

DH was a SAHD for a year and a half after we moved. Anytime I could tell someone was about to side eye me, I brought up how happy I was that he was having this opportunity to spend time with his daughter after being in a job for so long that kept him away from building a quality relationship with her.
People just need to shove it sometimes.

i dont particularly care for LLR and i HATE the leggings. but i've seen it transform so many women's confidence with what they wear and how they style themselves. i can't hate on LLR too hard. and it is how some of my frandz earn a living. even though i am not the biggest fan, i sort of want to sell. biddies go cray cray for leggings.

I wont' be around for FFFC so I guess here's mine a day early - we just use the regular Hunt's tomato sauce and add our own spices for it. DH and I just aren't a fan of chunky tomato sauce and then I can control what types of seasonings go in it. I feel like it's got to be healthier, too. But I know a lot of people think we're absolutely insane for it.

i do that too @natleilynn except not hunts brand, bc that is the brand of the devil.
What is another option? The only kinds I see at the store are the store brand (which I've tried and don't hate but DH swears he can tell a difference and hates it) and Hunt's...

Absolutely! If you do more to spaghetti sauce than open the lid of a jar, you have churned out something homemade! I don't cook anything Italian around here. DH does the honors.

@mrs_fogue I do not discriminate there. I like Mayo, BUT I also eat Miracle Whip. When it comes to Mayo though, it's gotta be Kraft for me. And no "salad dressing" mess when it comes to MW.

I can't stand seeing children out in public without any shoes on. I personally will not even walk on my floors at home without shoes on (we have dogs and the floors are usually dirty). When kids are outside in the grass as long as you know there aren't rusty nails or pieces of glass in it, ok. At the beach, a water park or even a park with sand (again, as long as you know there's nothing dangerous they can step on), ok. I'm talking about how I went to Chic-fil-a and there were children inside without shoes on. I get they're probably not wearing shoes because they were playing in the play-place thing. But omg think of what they're stepping on. I know I'm knit-picking. I was just raised that there are places you wear shoes and places where it's acceptable not to.

Not liking Oreos is basically the most un-human thing in the world, and I'm immediately suspicious. I can look past the rest of it, I think.
As a corn-fed Midwestern girl, I'm a connoisseur of all things ranch dressing. Nothing that comes in the bottle (that I've tried so far) comes close to restaurant-made ranch. Open to suggestions on this, though! Also, I think it's a travesty when PIZZA restaurants don't have ranch. This happened to me Tuesday, and the pizza was $20. Major rip-off, and I'm still bitter about it.
Hmm, what else. Oh! The person posting in multiple BMBs. Are we talking two, because they fall on the cusp, or like three/more? I get two, sort of, but more than that gets side-eye.
Also, miracle whip is one of the weirdest things in the world and should be immediately removed from grocery store shelves worldwide. If you don't like mayonnaise, refer to my un-human comment above.
@yasandson@purplestars Haha, I'm a gamer too, so a lot of time we are playing at the same time, but occasionally I do just watch the shows on Netflix/Hulu that he doesn't care for. The think about DH is, I can't start a show just as something to watch on my own, because he always ends up getting interested in it haha. We like a lot of the same things.
@carries2018 I feel like " dweebably cool" describles me perfectly haha.
@mrs_fogue YES. My DH does the grocery shopping, and when I asked for Ranch, he got KRAFT. I was like...what is this? Do other people make Ranch Dressing?
Although, have you ever eaten at Red Robin? They have the world's best ranch...I could drink it. That I'll rank above Hidden Valley.
@bluejeanbabi05@JessDG strictly talking bottled ranch. Restaurant ranch is far superior to this crap. Also, FTW, Outback has the best ranch hands down. I may have gone and gotten a salad from them the other day just for the ranch and croutons. We don't have Red Robins or I would certainly give them a try.
