Weekly Symptoms 4/3

Re: Weekly Symptoms 4/3

  • This may be TMI... this was such a weird conversation to have, especially describing it.

So I just called my doc because I've been having terrible vaginal pain. Like so much pressure it hurts to sit and sometimes walk around. When I am lying down seems to be the only time I get relief. I though maybe it was constipation, but I'm able to go pretty easily. It does hurt in the vaginal area when I do have bowel movement.

    Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

They basically told me to monitor over the weekend and told me to come in on Monday.

I'm 15 weeks with twins, but never felt anything like this with DD.

  • @cmar1006 FTM here but on my worse days, I'm like I can't imagine having a child to take care of. I can barely take care of myself. I hope you feel better soon!
There has been a lot of Nickelodeon & Disney. We are currently lying in my bed and she's playing ABC Mouse on the iPad. Mom of the year right here!

  • oof.  the heart palpitations are unnerving.  :weary:
YES. I had them with DS too, they suck. I get them a lot when picking up his toys
  • @cmar1006  I'll have feelings like that occasionally, but never for more than a couple of minutes and then it goes away. I can't imagine it just lingering like that, ouch!

@cmar1006 is it an acute pain?
ETA: is it possible you have hemorrhoids?

  • @cmar1006 I know what you are referring to and I have it too. I had similar pain with DD toward the end and then after birth. It was horrible pressure pain. I have it now too and I'm 18+5. I've been assuming it's normal, but I feel your pain.

  • @labby18 me too! I was taking pepcid for awhile until I swear it just stopped working. I found these tums cherry chew things.. I used them during my last pregnancy too and while regular tums don't seem to do anything for me, these actually work! I have to chew 3 at a time, but they tend to last awhile. Maybe worth trying.

  • @labby18 ahh that has to be brutal! When I was in high school, I had heartburn while I was in school.. it lasted hours and it was so bad! I didn't have anything to take and it actually burned my esophagus  :o I had to get all kinds of x-rays and meds. I'm so scared to have that happen again, I have a bag of these tums with me all the time!!

  • Thanks for all the responses, ladies.

I don't think so, but who knows!!! I had them after I have birth to DD, and this doesn't feel like that at all.

It's better today, but I've been a little gassy and feel the pain whenever the gas is working it's way down. I know that sounds weird, but hopefully it makes sense. Haha. I don't know. I'm a mess.

If you are bloated or have trapped gas in the intestines, the pain can manifest is other areas of the body. Most organs don't have the capability for you to feel pain in the organ. Instead the pain is referred to other areas / regions of the body.

If your are noticing this pain when gas is moving about, then you might try whatever gas relief your OB has on the safe meds list. That should help.
  • I'm sooooooo tired all the time,  I feel like I have no energy. I've been on spring break all week, I should be recharged by now, but I'm just so fatigued. I just want to have a clean house, but everytime I start to clean I just have to lay down after like 45 minutes and can never finish.

I thought you were supposed to have more energy in the 2nd trimester.
  • @JNR6510 thanks! I definitely feel it with gas, but also when there's no gas. I'm going to see doc on Monday, so hopefully I'll get some explanation. I have a feeling it could be a normal part of a twin pregnancy because things are growing so much faster than with a singleton. Who knows. I haven't had it as bad today, hopefully tomorrow is more of the same.

I know all bodies are different, and all pregnancies are different. But I'm almost 18 weeks, and Ive only put on maybe MAYBE half a cup size. I have an appointment on Wednesday so I'll ask then, but I'm starting to be a little concerned. I hear Bumpies talking about how they've already put on a couple cup sizes! I really want to breast feed :/

My normal bras still fit fine... I was 18 weeks Thursday. I'm just hoping it's the universe taking mercy on me because they are already so big, lol.

I'm just a little too big for my normal 38D. I tried on a 40D and there's a little bit of room to grow into the cup size.

Size doesn't have any effect on breastfeeding! I have a friend who was almost flat chested, not even kidding guys she almost didn't even fill out an A cup, and she breastfed fine! Don't be worried if your boobs aren't growing :)
It's more that I'm "worried" they aren't changing. They don't seem fuller (maybe a little heavier?). So is my body making the necessary changes it needs to make a milk supply. I did a Google search after posting, and it looks like this is not uncommon. I wish they'd cover this in the books (I'm reading two, week by week, in tandem) and they both only talk about how big they "must be" getting.
  • @jena333-2 Not everyone will experience an increase in cup sizes during pregnancy. It's totally normal and not a cause for concern. Boob size plays no role in the effectiveness of milk production. I know plenty of IBTC ladies who breastfed their babies just fine, and  I have known a few large breasted women who suffered from poor milk production and had to formula feed. I wouldn't  worry about it. In the end all that matters is that baby gets fed whether it's formula or breast milk.

When does the morning sickness end? Ugh! I spent the majority of my workday Friday in the bathroom, and then again today I have been constantly sick. It makes no difference if I try the ginger chews or pregnancy electrolyte popsicles. The second tri energy boost is nice, but seriously enough with the need to barf all the time. I'm sure my OB will grouse at me about eating more since I am still down 5 lbs from my weight 2 months pre-pregnancy.
  • This might sound stupid, but can someone tell me if this is just really bad heartburn? For the past 3 days, especially in the morning it's the worst, I wake up with this intense pain from my stomach to my sternum, and it kind of radiates up from there. It comes in intense waves of pain, and makes me feel sick. It gives me a terrible stomach ache, and this morning I threw up a number of times just trying to go down stairs to get some saltines. It almost feels like really intense hunger pains, but I shouldn't feel that hungry. Is this just really bad heartburn? I didn't know heartburn could make you throw up.
  • @jena333-2 don't worry about them not feeling full either. That "full" feeling doesn't always happen until the end. Also don't be concerned if you don't ever see any colostrum before birth. I never did with DD and I was able to breastfeed for a full year    I have lots of tips to help with milk production once our sweet LOs come. For now though, try not to worry and consider yourself a lucky one that you get to skip that symptom.

  • @jena333-2 don't worry at all! With my first, my boobs didn't get bigger even a little. This time either. This time they're sore, but they weren't last time. I successfully breastfed my son until he was almost 2, and ready to stop. Your boobs will get much bigger when your milk comes in after the baby is born. Size doesn't have and bearing on your ability to breastfeed!!

  • @heatherwilson321 I can't say for sure what yours is, but heartburn can very definitely make you throw up. It suuuucks... but unfortunately it does cause nausea and vomiting, especially if it's as bad as you're describing. Happens to me often  :/ but like I said, I couldn't confirm if it's heartburn you're feeling. If you're at all worried, I'm sure a call to your doctor would help!

  • I got an exercise/yoga ball to sit on to see if it helps my lower back and hip pain! So far DS wants to play with it all the time and won't let me sit on it for very long so I'll update when the new wears off and he lets me have it back lol
  • @jena333-2 mine really haven't grown at all either! I keep reading about how your boobs should feel giant by now, and mine don't. They are maybe a tiny bit bigger...I'm between a c and a d, but I haven't needed to buy a new bra yet. The only changes I've noticed is that the areolas are darker and my nipples are bigger. That's it.

Sounds like it!!! The first kick I ever felt with DS was around the same time and felt like a bubble or popcorn popping!
