Any one else on other month boards? My EDD is end of May and as a FTM there's a chance I'll deliver in June. But I can't bring myself to look/lurk/care about June.

I lurk on the interesting threads (UO, FFFC, bitchfest), but I can't keep up with more than one board enough to be a participant! I'm due May 29th.

How do you get motivated to do anything when you're this pregnant? I have all of these grand plans and then the weekend comes and I just want to sit on the couch. I need someone to kick my ass in gear.

@kns1988 - I find that the only way to get things done is to start first thing in the morning otherwise I lose motivation and do nothing the whole day.

Stuck in a box.... you just described my weekend every weekend.
@kns1988, that's a tough one. I totally agree it's tough to get motivated when lounging just feels sooo much better! @vrj0522 is right about tackling a project first thing in the day---or if you get a second wind later in the day, try to capitalize on it.
Try to break up your task into smaller manageable pieces. Instead of "get all my clothes organized," try to go through one drawer of clothes, or a dozen hanging items, or one tote at a time. You can break it up by timing too by setting a timer, say, 20 minutes now and 20 mins after dinner. Then all of these little pieces, over a few days, will add up and you'll be done! If it's something crafty, the smaller tasks could be to purchase and gather supplies one day, set up a workspace, spend a half hour on it the next day, and so on.
That way, you won't totally burn out all your energy, you can be proud of your accomplishment, and it'll be something tangible/attainable to look forward to tackling the next day. Good luck!
@kns1988, P.S. I just re-read your note. If you truly need some extra ass-kicking motivation, just think: you will have Absolute Zero time in 2 months from now to accomplish anything! Get it done now! The Only thing standing in your way right now is You!! If you't don't do it Now, you certainly won't do it Later. And lastly, really think hard about your Future Self. She'll be so proud of Present you for getting things crossed off your to-do list. Future you will be so pissed at Present you for being a slacker right now! You owe it to Her to just get it done now! Because when Future you becomes Present you, you don't want to feel awful or regretful, you want to be proud that you pushed through the uncomfiness of it all and completed everything you set out to do!! Give your Future self the gift of getting it all done now. You will feel so amazing later if you just do it now!
@Squirtgun Congratulations! I hope the NICU stay is short and you and baby are doing well!
@SWoodd2012 Congratulations! I know I am a little late. He is so precious. I hope all is well!
My jaw totally dropped when I saw another birth announcement. Congrats @squirtgun, I hope both of you are doing well and the NICO stay is short and easygoing!
Its been a pretty random weekend over here so far.
Baby related: I bought an used eddie buaur diaper caddy for $4 for the nursery, finished taping the room so it can get painted, ordered these navy curtains with stars on them and put away all the clothes that I just washed. Now I need to inventory the bigger sizes so my mom can stop asking me if I need this or that lot from her local bst group. Its been a bit overwhelming!
Non baby related: DD is finally on the mend from her illness and is fine as long shes not running hard or she will start coughing hard. We went out for dinner for the first time in awhile for some delicious turkish food. I totally ordered extra just so we can have leftover.
On the bright side it's opening day! I'm very happy I will have practically daily baseball to keep me company during my maternity leave this summer. I forsee a lot of nursing while watching the games on game cast on my phone.
@kns1988 I literally make myself work on something for 30 min then I rest for a bit, then I work for 30 more min, then rest for a bit. The exhaustion is so real! I don't get as much done, but i know I can commit to 30 min intervals most of the time.

So I totally first read that as a "used edible diaper caddy" and was like whaaaaa...? Pregnancy brain and 12-hr shifts are not a good combo!
Just mentioned to DH there was another May baby on the board and without skipping a beat he said "Maybe you order the rest of the stuff today." So I Amazon Primed to my hearts content and now baby can come anytime after April 4!

I did the same thing this morning! And started getting my hospital bag ready...

@kns1988 Ditto. I get so motivated and want to do awesome things and clean and organize and then I start and... pretty quickly trickle out of steam. This happens at work, too. I'm not normally this way, so it feels especially odd and unsettling. @SKZW I love you for that kickass pep talk. I totally feel like I needed to hear that too! I'm still sitting and bumping, but I feel ready for a second wind.
ETA: @Squirtgun, I'm really impressed that you're still miraculously "Love it"-ing posts.
Anyone else taking advantage of the 20% off one item that expires today at Babies R Us? We just saved $95! We used the coupon on the car seat. Plus the stroller was a red light deal, so $45 more off!
Thanks for the pep talk, @SKZW, and thanks to others for input! I drug myself out of the house to go to church for the first time in a month, then DH and I got the truck washed, and now I'm going to tackle some packing in my bedroom since we move at the end of the month. I wonder where that present self/future self thing came from because DH uses it a lot - he's a total procrastinator and whenever he actually does something in advance he'll say "I'm doing this for future me." haha
@jayandaplus, I'm not normally this way either. I'm usually checking things off my list constantly and keeping everything in order. It's an adjustment to have to force myself to do things. I'm sure it's only going to get harder when baby comes.

YOU GUYS morning queasiness is back and I am feeling very sorry for myself! I want to get a lot of household stuff done today in preparation of the next phase of home renovations on opposite ends of the house this week. But woe is me I'm immobile and sipping fizzy water instead.
We've had an otherwise productive weekend--I cooked a fancy-ish dinner party on Friday AND a more casual dinner party last night for various people who have lent or will lend a hand with baby stuff, and we attended our all-day childbirth seminar at the hospital yesterday. It didn't change any of our decisions but we definitely feel more prepared!
@KMD1106 we also got the Bravo for two! It seems like a good one so far We still need to replace our car seat though- does that 20% deal just go through today?
ETA sorry, dumb question. I should have read your post a little more carefully!
@Squirtgun Congrats on the arrival of your baby boy!
This weekend has so far consisted of a relaxing day with my parents on Saturday. DD was so excited to be with her grandparents and actually talked to them all day which is huge for her because she is usually very quiet if it's not DH or myself. At the moment I am eating a brownie and waiting on DH and FIL to get a new tire on our car because we got a flat last night (ugh) and will probably end up helping out my IL's set up for DH's niece's birthday party on Monday, she'll be 6. Genuinely curious to see how many kids will be coming to a late afternoon party on a weekday.
@Squirtgun, congrats!! I was totally shocked to see another birth announcement!! Looking forward to the story, if you decide to share! FX for a super short and uneventful NICU stay!
Is anyone else feeling like a spectacle walking around? I've definitely got a waddle at 33 weeks with baby no 2 but the level of gawking I've gotten at target today was too much. Especially teenage girls slack jawed or pointing and laughing!! Am I just ragey that this is really bothering me?????
@HansolosparkaI'm so sorry if anyone is pointing and laughing-- people are terrible. I think have a slight waddle but DH says no (32w2d). Either way, I think the pregnancy waddle should be respected. It's not easy carrying these watermelons-to-be around!
@Hansolosparka: ugggh, that stinks. I'd be ragey too, if there was any laughing and pointing. You have every right to feel that way. Maybe their jerkyness was at something else in their line of sight, though? Who knows. Girls can be bitches. They have no idea what you're going through... but we do... and you're doing great mama, we're in the home stretch!
