We're also doing a b/g nursery (we think. Doctor said she is pretty sure Baby B is a girl, but we should find out for sure Thursday). I'm pretty much just picked gender neutral things, but I'm not super worried about it. I wear blue, DH wears pink, plus they're babies. They don't care what color stuff is, you know?
We did not do matching cribs/dresser. We got two black Jenny Lind cribs, and just ordered this dresser. I think they'll look great together.
I am so psyched that we finally have the room basically cleared out. This was my sewing room/guest room/storage for H's lego collection so it was FULL. Now he just has a few boxes to take out to the garage and we have to take down my pegboard, then we can start filling it with the babies' stuff! We're keeping the wallpaper, curtains, and paint color the same so that takes care of a lot of the big tasks!
Question, roughly how much are you guys spending on your nurseries? I think we are going to end up right around $2000, but it depends on what gets bought on our registry vs what we pay for.
I finally got DH to spend time in the "junk room" aka baby's nursery. I've got an idea of how it's all coming together now that there is some room to move around in there. I got these from Ikea (the wardrobe, dresser, Kallax that I'm using as a bookshelf and, rocking chair). The 3 drawer dresser isn't really that blue/green in person it's more blue. Now I'm mad that things have gone blue & white because DDs old crib is wood colored and there is no way DH is going to be ok with a new crib.. BUT I'll live I don't think it'll look too weird.
@SarahBethBR We are planning on spending a bit over your number...that is the cost w. delivery etc for our Crib, Dresser and Glider and some other pieces (mattress etc.). The crib is convertible so that will be her bed forever, and the dresser is 8 drawers-again it will be her dresser forever, so we are spending a bit more on those than originally planned. A bit over the original plan, but we loved how sturdy the pieces were and how they looked. Esp. because the 'headboard' part of the crib isn't bars so it doesn't look like it was a crib when in bed form.

@SarahBethBR probably spending somewhere in that range. I know crib and dresser will run us about 1200 and that's without the mattress and the changing topper. I'm really hoping someone buys us the glider and to not have that expense too.
@nxy those are on my registry! Sooo cute. Winnie the Pooh is adorable.

This is our theme/color scheme. Three of the walls are a soft gray and the back wall that the crib will go on is Navy. The 'tentacle' decal we are getting in Navy as well for one of the gray walls. Ordering the furniture next month--can't wait to actually set it up!

@carabear87 I love it! I can't believe you have it finished already, that's awesome!! @smallbutmighty77 I'm cracking up at poop deck!! I finished the letters for her wall and her rug finally came in!
I had to throw some humor in there...with a nautical theme how could I not do 'Poop Deck'

Question for STM+... how useful is a closet system when you're also using a regular size/6 drawer dresser? I have no idea how to anticipate how much space we'll need, but not sure if a dresser plus closet system is overkill.
@secicc12 we used a 3 drawer dresser, top drawer was diapers, wipes, extra changing pads, etc, middle was burp cloths, bibs, pajamas, socks, and sleepsacks, bottom was first aid kit and stuff we didn't use as often. Nicer clothes were hung in the closet. Diapers and wipe boxes stacked in the bottom of the closet.
Here is my nursery theme: The crib and glider are on order so they should be here in the next couple of weeks! I had the etsy artist add a mermaid to the mobile- so it will have poseidon AND a mermaid. I cannot wait to get the room together. I know it will be more for me than the baby but its just so darn exciting and cute
We have our colors, we have picked but not bought the furniture, I have favorited the etsy decal...and what does my DH do yesterday? Starts pulling out old flat metal shelves-that have no rail or anything, and moving our books off the bookcases into the nursery.
I walk into him pencil marking the wall where he thinks he is putting the shelves. 1-The marks are exactly where we plan to put the glider, 2- the shelves have no rail or anything so knock the wall a bit and books will fall 3-I told him this was DD room, not our place to stash crap! WTH?!
I almost threw him, the damn shelves and all the books out of the room!!
I have been super relaxed on pretty much everything, he has been an awesome DH and we have agreed on a lot, but I was not in the mood to have my adorable nursery plan altered!

We have all this sea turtle stuff I got with DD in blue and green. I got it specifically so our nursery stuff could be reused. DH sent me a link to a quilt he liked from land of nod and now I want a galaxy/space themed nursery me and my first world problems.
@Nxy it is hard to resist some of that adorable theme stuff!

I still have to put up some finishing touches (curtains/lamp/shelf/pictures) but my vision is actually work out - it's a small room so I'm glad I taped out furniture sizes before buying!!

@smallbutmighty77 DH and I are both stargazers so I'm pretty much in love with the idea now. It's his fault he should have known better than to show me the quilt.
@nxy soooo cute. I agree, it is all his fault so he can't be upset about it and just has to let it be awesome.
I work in influencer marketing (social media) so part of what I see all day are these beautiful curated nurseries that have the decor or furniture or whatever sponsored by a brand. It is doing horrible things to my ability to stay with my theme/furniture etc and not want to spend a fortune.

I LOVE that quilt. We're not doing a bedding set since they don't really use anything but the crib sheet. But I've loved that quilt since I first saw it.
We are (well my DH and my brother) moving our office stuff out of the bedroom to make way for baby girl's nursery. Painting the walls with Gray and Pink. We'll have decor in gray, pink, and navy blue. Furniture is white.
The fabric for LO's nursery came in the mail today! These fabrics will be sewn into fitted sheets and one of the white prints will be a changing pad cover. I also ordered white fabric with black swiss crosses from Etsy for a minky blanket. I need to get to work this weekend!

Since we will be in the middle of a remodel I think we are just going the simple Ikea route for a temporary crib - which I think will be cute with everything in our rental.
For everyone getting an Ikea crib (and others too) -- which crib mattress are you planning to get? An Ikea one as well, or are you going for a different brand & why?
Trying to figure out which one to add to our registry, but the options are overwhelming...
