This question may have been asked and I missed it, so apologies if it is a repeat:
What are some of the best pregnancy books you have read? And any recommendations for SO to read. Unfortunately mine isn't a big reader but he's excited for the LO so I might be able to get him to read one.
My DH actually downloaded a few apps like The Bump and WTEWE. It surprised me when he started giving me valid tips and pointers that he had read. If he's not a reader then this may better suite him.
RNP is not recommended for sleep overnight it increases the risk of SIDS. that being said i have used it overnight in a pinch, and with reflux babies (my kids had bad) it can be useful, but even still my pedi didnt recommend using it. it is more for naps. Also not using it for night time will save you a lot of aggravation switching to a flat surface/crib later on. but RNP has a flat bassinet style now that might be worth looking into if you are interested.
It may not be recommended, but it was a godsend for us. DD would literally not sleep anywhere else. We tried everything. And we had zero issues transitioning her to the crib (flat surface).
We used the RNP next to the bed for the first 3 weeks and it was a lifesaver. But, DS developed a small flat spot n the back of his head and I read that the RNP can contribute to that, so I'm probably going to try to not use it for overnight sleep this time.
@flyingfall I also second that they download some apps like @mrs_fogue suggests. My husband is definitely not a reader but used the WTE app last time and downloaded it again this time

We didn't use ours for nighttime sleep, only for naps, but I've heard sooo many parents say its the only place their newborn would sleep, especially if they had acid reflux. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do and weigh the risks/benefits between a higher risk of SIDS or a baby and a mama that get no sleep.
We used rnp for sleeping only right next to our bed for the first 6 weeks. She slept like a dream. I put a blanket under the cover as recommended by reviews I read to prevent flat spots and we had no issues. Also had no issues with crib transition. That thing is literally a life saver
3 months with the rock n play- lifesaver for a reflux baby. She'd spit up and then just fall back asleep so I felt a million times better having her upright and next to me vs worrying about her gagging.
