I've had to side-lie nurse her to sleep the last two nights. She's out finally. Need..beer... and all we have is Miller Lite (DHs) and Hopslam.. two ends of the spectrum and I need something in the middle right now. First world problems.
Ugh, DD woke up at 12:30, nursed, went back to sleep. DS woke up at 1 and needed help resettling. It's now 1:45 and DD is up again. Everytime I'm on the verge of falling back asleep, the monitor goes off with one of them stirring aaaannndddd now I have anxiety.
DS's sleep has been absolute crap lately. Last night he went down at 7:30 and was up at 10, 12, 3, 4:30 and was just up for the day at that point. So now I'm up with him. Also DD woke up at 11 last night so that sucked. I'm so tired he is 15 weeks so maybe it's the sleep regression? But hecis still two weeks shy of 4 months so I don't know.

I am guessing its sleep regression. It seems like most of us are falling into a pattern similar around 3-4 months.

This has been LO for the past week. And it was nothing like this prior. So I'm going to say if we are all having crappy sleep patterns, it has got to be sleep regression or somehow they have all the begun conspiring against us.
It's weird, the middle of the night nonsense actually doesn't bother me as much as the crappy day time naps. M has never been a good sleeper at night so I think I've gotten used to the lack of sleep. But if he doesn't nap during the day then I get zero done. Plus there might be nothing worse than a crabby, sleepy baby that refuses to be put down....
This^^. I get so frustrated with the naps especially because I'm tired from the night wake ups. What's worse is S used to be a great nighttime sleeper going 8 hrs before the regression. Now she wakes about 3 times per night. Once I finally ge her asleep for a nap and hold her for 10 mins, she wakes the second I lay her down and then acts like 10 mins was enough. Then 20 mins later she's fussy and still tired.
@kvruns So annoying, isn't it?!? Plus M is bordering on 20lbs so my back is absolutely killing me from carrying him around. I've tried just putting him in the Ergo but noooo, he must be actually carried to be happy. Ugh.

There should be suppprt groups for big babies. My back is KILLING me.

I don't know how you guys do it because my 11.5 lb 3.5 month old hurts my back and I've always considered myself to be relatively strong
Yes to all the big baby stuff! DS is 18 lbs now and so hard to carry for long periods of time. Also the leg rolls are cute but I need to powder them every day to keep them from getting a rash. Definitely didn't have this problem with my DD who was always in the 23ish % for weight. I have also heard that it can be a disadvantage later on if you baby looks bigger (older) than he really is they can have some unrealistic expectations placed on them people think they should be capeable of more than they are.
@rspalding001 I talk to my students about that all the time. The taller kids are expected to be more mature, older, etc at first glance and that can be really hard as well as entirely out of their control. I remind myself of that every day. Especially because his older sister is this pint size little whip who shocks everyone when they hear her talk because she's tiny.
This kid is playing games with me. When I'm not home, he will sleep from 8 to 2 (ish). Then 2-5. I nursed him tonight and my husband gave him a bottle and put him to bed. I fell asleep and woke up at 1130 so I pumped. As soon as I finished, put the milk I pumped in the fridge for my husband to give him tomorrow night since I work, he started to stir and has been on and off since midnight. I'm too tired for this. Either fully wake up or stop moving buddy. I can't fully fall asleep hearing him.

So apparently our new normal is that DD wakes up sometime around 3/4 to nurse and then is up every 30 mins - 1 hour after that until morning. Every. Single. Hour.
@kvruns same room. My husband says he never stir at night for him but I'm thinking he is just dead to the world when he sleeps so maybe he just doesn't hear him?? But as a general rule he wakes up more often when I'm home at night.

LO fell asleep an hour earlier than usual and while it was great to get a few nonbaby things done while I wasn't fully exhausted, now I'm almost afraid to lie down because I can't predict when he'll wake up.
Found myself with 0 patience for LO this morning. It wasn't even for being woken up but 2 min into his usual squirming, don't want to go back to bed I was mentally losing it and considered just putting him down and letting him cry. No idea why it hit like that I usually have tons of patience
Our patience is bound to run thin sometimes @kvruns. Try to relax. I know it can be hard.
It's like these kids refuse to acknowledge daylight savings. I was startled awake extra early by a two year old standing inches from my face while a 3 month old chatted up a storm on the monitor. Of course there is one person still sleeping...
If it helps at all I think this is completely normal @kvruns. Patience and tolerance is a huge struggle for both H and I often. H and I have both done just that (setting him down for a bit while crying/fussing) to collect ourselves.
Yeah, didn't even consider how daylight savings was gonna throw things off. Usually put her to bed at 10:30... gonna shoot for 11:30 and try to correct tomorrow. Sigh!
DST strikes here too. And I didn't set my alarm so I woke up at 630 - I usually am ready for work by then and LO gets up around 630-645. Oops. I hate to wake him bc he was also up all night but I know I have to once I finish pumping
This has to be a growth related thing for all of us to be incurring this crap-tactic sleep. I also saw the clock every hour and am torn because anything I read says that if they're waking to feed more than they used to it means they need it. But at the same time he was sleeping longer stretches so he can clearly hack it. Like eat up all day, little man.
I am so tired and in such a bad mood. Already lost it on DH who forgot to send DD with everything she needed this morning for school. But at the same time how can he still be forgetting what she needs??
Yeah that's what is so frustrating! M was doing really good stretches but now it's like we're back to newborn status. And it seems like he's STARVING when he gets up so it's not for no reason. I definitely think it's a growth spurt. Apparently they happen in months three and four so basically one big spurt.
My little guy is also acting like he's starving when he wakes despite eating all night @mrsmaryk2016! He just nursed for an hour!
It makes you wonder if you're producing enough! I'm starting to wonder if he's just not getting what he needs or if he really is just that hungry.
My SIL put it a good way though. She said all babies this age have roughly the same size stomach so they all basically eat the same amount. But because M is bigger than most babies his age so his body metabolizes that food faster to support his body's needs. It's why he needs to eat more frequently than smaller babies his same age. I have no idea if that's true or not but it made me feel better lol
It does make me feel better! I don't think I have a supply issue as he has gone from 9lbs at birth to 20.5 at 3 months but I guess I'll have to wait and see what his next weight check is.
All the extra nursing sessions has got to be increasing our supply though. Maybe that's what it's all about and after this we will produce more milk than before. At least I hope so. I need there to be a logical reason for it ha ha.
